Mahalo piha, for sharing all the downloads, and for all you do for us Kahrayzeeee UH Volley Ball fans, win or lose we stio Pahtay..... Can't wait for the NCAA GAME ALOHA NUI KAKOU
Well, of course, no one can't beat 10,000+ crowd... But, I was there in Long Beach last week. All Hawaii fans did pretty good job cheering the Warriors really. We were loud and overpowered LB fans.
locomojoboy2 it’s hard if you’re the star player cause the other team will scout you well before matches and commit at least 2 people for block every time. That’s why Joe shifted away from Rado because LBSU knew sets would go there.
Ariel Pang nope stijn played well against them last week and they still couldn’t stop him today. That is because as a good hitter you should be able to adjust and stijn has every shot but rado cant adjust at all
laserhawk221 It just depends. Stijn doesn’t have awesome games all the time either. Rado has been averaging more kills per set which is why teams scout him. If their blockers are scouting him, Joe is smart to know that better opportunities are up for Stijn. Stijn played better because he got better in system sets vs Rado (as mentioned in video) getting out of system sets that are harder to convert points since sets are not exactly ideal.
Ariel Pang rado averages around 4.10 k/s while stijn averages around 3.94 k/s so its not that big of a difference and stijn is hitting a higher percentage on the season. Rado always hits low and hard and that wont work against quick middle blockers like Long Beach states blockers, rado needs slow big blockers to be successful like uc irvine. And I guarantee you that after last week lbsu scouted stijn way more than rado cause they already know how to shut him down
Be nice. But I will agree that even though Hawaii did great, I think LB is the better team because all their players are so well rounded and are good at many different aspects of the sport. Especially their scrambling to save the ball.
These comments saying how the crowd was loud when LBSU was serving or the booing and all that. I know Hawai’i fans have always been the best volleyball fans in the country, but it’s about time that our crowd got somewhat rowdy. This is a BIG game in a BIG time rivalry so it’s awesome to see the home team fans get into it. For those that complaining, it’s the nature of all sports. Don’t like it, there’s the door.
Wow, this is too comical. Hawaii fans are such fucking hypocrites. All of you were crying and bitching about BYU fans being “disrespectful”, but when it comes to your fans screaming at players when they serve it’s “awesome to see home fans get into it”. Y’all are garbage
@@samoanstorm8178 because those fans at BYU were being disrespectful dipshit. You don't see the Hawaii fans cheering right behind them, just cheering in general. It's not like it wasn't the biggest game of the year. 😂
@@samoanstorm8178 Hawaii fans are traditionally a very respectful audience compared to BYU who were literally holding spinning rings during hawaii's serves, to make servers dizzy. They were also screaming in servers ears and pushing back the mats so servers couldn't get proper run-ups so... like booing isnt really that crazy compared to what BYU do.
Oh my god! You truly are the best. Mahalo for your hardwork. And talk about the crowd, WOW! so ELECTRIC, best volleyball crowd in the nation....Cowell, you so HOT🔥🔥🔥🔥
I don't know why this video have 8 dislikes. Thank you for the upload. This will be replayed over over the years. So happy for the Warriors!!!! On to the NCAA tournament.
The whole game I was begging to set the middles. So glad Joe got them involved in the last few sets. I love Patrick gasman. That’s some gas, man! And love Stijn so so much! Good win boys. Let’s do the damn thing!
Rado Parapunov has been called to prepare with the Bulgarian team for the upcoming Nations League. We'll see if he gets selected for the tournament though. Definitely has great potential.
I happen to discover UH because of youtube recommendations and from there on I was lowkey expecting every game u upload. Daaaamn i kinda feel like a super huge fan and so happy they won.
UH setter has to stop forcing sets to Rado and push to the middles, pipe and left side. Lucky they were home, that fan base helped a lot! SVT and Cowell were 🔥
Yeah especially when he’s playing like shit. There are times when Rado is the sole person carrying the team, but when he plays horribly like this they need to stop giving the ball to him. I do wish they played he middle more but gasman was missing the ball a lot.
Unfortunately, Joe has been doing this all season. It’s really predictable at this point. Sometimes it’s like he forgets how amazingly good the other attackers on this team are. Hopefully JW mixes it up more because I think that will be the most effective way to win the Natty. Go ‘Bows!
Started to watch this match live when the 3rd set was almost over. When LBSU tied the match at 2-2 I realized that I couldn't watch this again and went back to work. Didn't check back for several hours and was shocked at the score. Thanks for uploading the match!
2:52:43 love that kiss and hug though ❤ #siblings #mytwofaveteams #mvp Although Beach lost #Defalco=Beast Thanks for the uploads all the way from New Zealand ❤
Love the thumbnail for the video 3:05:50 This is the first time I’ve heard Cowell’s voice. I did NOT expect him to sound like that. I thought he’d have the surfer-dude type of voice.
@@yehudahamer1655 Hawaii RETURNS 4 of 7 starters and LBSU LOSES 6 of 7 starters. Hawaii will be in the hunt next year as well. Jacob Thelle the 6'6 left setter replaces Joe Worsley, most likely a dynamic and high flying 6'7 middle from Brazil comes in next year and takes Solbrigs place, and Czech 6'7 returning Soph Filip Humler will be battling it out with incoming 6'7 Frosh from Greece Dimi Mouchlias for Stijn's spot. Hawaii will be yet another force next season.
I agree. I think it was the lack of sets that robbed him, not a committee though. The talent and execution are there, he just doesn’t ever have enough attempts to warrant serious consideration for an award.
I wished we could closed 3-0... LBSU is mentally strong and could come back anytime. I saw it in Long Beach a week ago. So, I was scared even though I believed in Warriors 120%. But, definitely, playing in our house helped tremendously.
@@locomojoboy2 Hawaii lost by a combined 8pts last week. What's going to happen? Well, Hawaii now knows they can shut the door against a beach team this season. That should give them confidence moving forward.
I watched a lot of American volleyball videos and I noticed that in the USA the referees don't really call a lot of "double touches" or "carried balls". 2:28:50, he definitely carried the ball. An that is just one example amongst a lot of them...
zgodan decko in men’s yes I wholeheartedly agree. So many doubles uncalled. But in women’s (college especially) they call EVERYTHING its crazy. The slightest rotation on the ball
zgodan decko I thought a carry is if they contact the ball a little too long when they send it up? In that example amado made contact with the ball for a quick short time, right?
There is a double touch and a ball that is carried. There is a slight difference. Referees call out when the balls is too long in your hands, when it is rotating too much, in this case it is obvious that the ball was almost carried while the player was on the ground. I am a player, I am not a referee so I am not saying I can perfectly detect each "dirty ball", I wouldn't go that far, however there are some touches that obviously should be called out by the referees. I mean, if you watch some of the perfect sets the setters are making from different difficult situations you would think they are the best setters in the world :S, but they are obviously not. I don't know, it just looks weird to me. If you watch professional european volleyball, it is totally different so I found that interesting and I had to comment on it...
Much respect to both of these teams. Watched these last 3 matches between them a couple times already because it just so nice to see how having quality opponents changes a team for the better. Both of these teams played better than I’ve seen them all season, despite their individual statistics not looking as good (hitting %, blocks, etc). But these two teams should go down as some of the best all time and a rivalry to drive their programs for years to come. Can’t wait to see who wins in the NCAAs. Thanks for the post of the game. Much appreciated from this NY volleyball official.
Yeah I haven’t watched any of LB’s other games in the season, but I imagine they must have gotten pretty bored facing teams that can’t give them a challenge. So I think that both teams want to play each other because it’s the best way for them to improve against a challenging opponent.
I haven't seen this kind of quality volleyball played for many many years and this is the forth time I've seen this game . Thank You for the quality and I was there too yelling my heart out to the warriors who have trained so hard to come this far. This is so motivating as a warrior for Kamehameha to get back to my game, swimming and volleyball. You 2019 champions who deserves every person on this team who brought with them their gifts to become our winners with ponache & humility to become our stars to Ha'lia you in our hearts and mindful of your contributions ,.... You shall always remember LONG BEACH GAMES AND SO WILL I......
This is the most awesome game of "men's volleyball i had ever witness. These Warriors are truly the Kind of Warriors that Kamehmeha would be proud of to watch them perform their gifts or talents are truly awesome to watch them dig balls out of nothing but miraculous and keeping it from the floor are just insanely perfected. Thanks for this great season. I as a Hawaiian who loves volleyball say to you Mahalo Nui Loa you are a must see for all generations to watch the kind of fortitude of excellent character flows easily among them. Love them dearly **** great man of volleyball truly who understands one another is the key to oHana family makes the most fierce challenges.
Why is the bracket only 7 teams? I understand that there aren’t nearly the amount of teams as the women, but why is it only 7 teams?! That’s stupid. It could be so much more interesting. The NCAA is screwing us all out of a lot of great volleyball.
Does anyone know who the black guy dancing in between the second and third sets is? I’ve seen him in other Hawaii matches dancing and I just love him! He is so much fun!
namewel caccam I mean so far it’s 2-1 in LBSU’s favor 🤷🏻♀️ until Hawai’i beats them at LBSU in the national championship, I don’t think we can say they’re the stronger
What INCREDIBLE VOLLEYBALL GAME THIS WAS. HOWEVER, TJDeFALCO WAS VERY GENEROUS TOP PLAYER THAT HE IS WASN'T OFF KILTER, BUT RECOVERS VERY WELL WITH A GOOD TEAM WHO ARE SOLID IN THEIR SKILLS. THE TEAM TO BEAT IS THE UNIVERSITY OF TRULY HAWAIIAN WARRIORS. lONG BEACH DOES GET'S STRONGER AS THEY SINK LOWER IN THE PAST ROUND [3 -RD MATCH IS THE GAME TO WATCH]. FIRE!WAS THE TRUTH YOU COULD SEE THEM ON FIRE. TO WITHSTAND THIS ENORMOUS THRILLED TO BE A PART A TRULY WINNING TEAM. THE CHAMPIONS OF THE YEAR 2019 SHALL BE REMEMBERED AS THE TEAM WHO STRUGGLED TO BE THEIR VERY BEST, TO BE CHAMPION THIS YEAR.
i never used to be into volleyball, never cared to watch it but that’s only because i didn’t understand the game. now that i have some sense of how volleyball works holy cooooow, volleyball just got to be one of my fave sports to watch. also super stoke that our hawai’i boys won
Tricky Rainbow Here’s a better video that shows what we didn’t see here with Stijn crying. It’s around 2:38 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1hEbR5Opzss.html
Jonathan Horcajo And they travelled all the way here to play us in the BWC tournament where we had home court advantage. Unless you’re saying that it should be at a neutral location for all the teams, yet big enough to have a good audience turnout?
