Sir, I am very pleased with your new educational repair video. Few people tell and show exactly how to repair nodes . Keep it that way !!! Health to you and your family .

Nice way to spend 1/2 an hour. Learned a lot of what's back there. Really great to have the bike up high, instead of being on your back. I'd get a lift, but in cold, snowy Idaho, all the vehicles are inside. No more room. When I sold my '17 650, I gave him my factory service manual. If i knew i was going to buy a new '22 Adventure, I would have kept a lot of goodies. Your VStrom loves you. You're a patient mechanic.

Just wondering why you sold the '17 then got a '22 .I've had my strom650xt for over 5 years & not going to sell.But,there's no change between the '17(3rd gen)&'22.Except for decals.

Clean, organized, to the point. Thank you for this. I will be completing this job on my 2017 650 in the coming months, although I expect I will find my bearings in significantly worse shape when compared to yours given that I ride mostly off-road 😂 All the best from the East Coast of Canada. 🇨🇦

Hello again Jon, I just watched you're excellent steering head service video, and came straight to this one, as it's on the priority list also. I was a bit concerned with that Castle nut, but thanks to you my fears are gone! I'm glad to have a buddy with a lift for this task, as it would be no fun on my knees at 61. Best wishes (again) from Ireland, and 'Go Raibh Míle Maith Agat' ( Thanks A Million ). 😊🧑‍🔧🎖

You make a big job look easy! Personally, I haven't got the set up to do it.Was the rear suspension getting stiff?You probably get more dusty rides than me.But great to see your fantastic videos on the innards of the 'strom.Thanks.

Excelent mechanical video, thank you!!! I´m also pleased that Suzuki keep the quality and those bearings still had some grease after 4 years of riding and you did that service as some kind of "preventive service". By the way, how many km/miles do you have on your odometer?

Thank you for the step by step info great stuff on you channel!! have a 08 vstrom 56,000 miles great bikes. My retirement present will be a newer storm looking at 19 like yours. Question about the Delkevic pipe does it have to be rebuilt with new inners like some aftermarket pipes? Thanks for quality info Steve
@ozarksbackroads5484
@ozarksbackroads5484 Год назад
Good to hear from you sir... the Delkavic mufflers are made out of stainless steel inside and out so they won't rust on the inside either. They should last as long as the bike... thanks for watching and good luck with your new ride... :)

A warning to all VStrom 650/owners. The rubbers that cover the swing arm bolts are easy to lose. I have lost one and when I warned a mate, he had a look and he had lost one. Solution put them on with silicon sealant if you don’t want to lose them.

Hi there, just wanted to ask your opinion. I am considering upgrading my Honda crf300l Rally to something better to tour on roads with the occasional dirt roads. I am trying to compare the Vstrom 650 and a CFmoto 800mt. I haven’t ridden either but the value and tech excites me of the Cfmoto. I want to take the occasional Pillion. How would you rate the 2 bikes? I will be buying used
@jonsmith9892
@jonsmith9892 Год назад
Hello there... good to hear from you... Well as far as these two bikes go I would say the V-Strom is a sure thing... it is comfortable, will get the job done without any drama and will run forever. The V-Strom lacks in suspension when compared to the CFMOTO but still it is a very safe bet that you will be happy with it. The CFMOTO is more of a wild child. It has a much more lively engine that is quite vibey at lower rpm's. The suspension is very good on the 800MT and is sprung properly. The fuel mapping is pretty aggressive giving the bike a hooligan personality. The 800MT is a blast to ride and always puts a smile on my face when I ride it. Both bikes will carry a passenger and gear with ease and both travel well. The 800MT is much more capable off road on the gravel and rough terrane with its KYB suspension but is still a weapon in the twisties. Long term reliability is still up in the air with the 800MT but I would imagine the bike will fair as well as a KTM 790/890 Adventure or Duke. I am preparing to head out on a 4000 mile adventure on my Ibex 800T in a few weeks for some camping and exploring in the Southwester USA. I will have a much more qualified opinion on the Ibex when I complete that trip. Hope this helps... good luck with you bike search and thanks for watching.... :)

@@ozarksbackroads5484 pleasure to hear back from you. What a coincidence. I owned my FJR for 2 years and ended up selling it too because I couldn't get comfortable on it regardless what upgrades I tried. its still in my mind best bike ever. Just like you I went with sport/adventure bike instead. I purchased brand new Kawasaki Versys 1000 in 2019. Thank you for your awesome content and hard work. I appreciate it very much!
