I had a 125cc scooter for 2 years, then a 250cc for 2 years, then a cbr 600 for 5 years, then down to a 110 honda scooter for 3 years, now on a bws 100 for 4 years. All bikes are fun, and can commute on all of them. Feeling the need for more power again but not a 600 or higher, this one looks perfect
Nice review bro, I was very skeptical on buying one for myself until I saw you. Will keep an eye on your R3 and hopefully learn more about the bike. Keep it up! Ride safe.
i have a Blue R3 and that's true people will say your bike looks nice many times! The only thing what i dont like on my bike are the mirrors. even more if you have 1 at the back of your bike! Nice Rewev keep it up!
Great review! 👌🏼 was debating the black vs the blue R3 and the blue won it for me. In the Denver metro area Hit me up if you ever wanna do some riding or wanna get some pics of the black vs blue R3s! Keep safe out there bro!
HEY CHRIS. I'M ENJOYING YOUR VIDEOS. I BOUGHT MY FIRST NEW BIKE 2017 R3, RED AND BLACK, LAST YEAR. I LOVE THE BIKE, AS YOU MENTIONED IT'S A GREAT BIKE TO START ON. I'VE DONE ALL THE MODS EXCEPT STEEL BRAIDED BRAKE LINES. I JUST REPLACED THE BRAKE FLUID AND INSTALL SINTERED BRAKE PADS, WHICH BITE SOO MUCH BETTER. I PUT 13K ON THE BIKE MY FIRST YEAR, I RIDE YEAR ROUND. THIS YEAR I BOUGHT A 2018 MT 07, THE HIGH VIZ MODEL. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS BIKE TOO.LOL STILL HAVE AND RIDE MY R3 AND I DON'T PLAN ON SELLING IT!
I also have my 2018 yamaha r3 for a month now. The stock tires are street (race) tires. Offers great grip but u gotta change it faster than the tour tires. Overal great beginner bike. (I am also a beginner) You should get an akrapovic exhaust man. I got the carbon akrapovic and sounds good and lools good. Ride safe
I have the R3 and Ninja 650. But believe me, the R3 is much more fun to ride (so light), even thought it is not as fast as the Ninja. My 2018 R3 top speed is 109 mph.
Nice review. I have 7 bikes and the R3 is by far the lowest displacement bike I have. But I love it to death. Will never get rid of it. It's super lightweight, nimble, and capable in all street riding scenarios. And it is cheap to maintain. The only other bike I have this much fun on is my Indian scout bobber but easily cost 3 times as much.
I opted for the cbr300r. I am very happy with it. Love the smaller cc bikes more fun than putting around on my liter bike constantly checking my speed..
I had mine for about month and a half and I agree with almost everything you said. And I dropped mine as well, but even more embarrassingly I did it while checking engine oil levels. I put 2 books under the side stand to get it level and just as I went to go on the other side to check oil it fell down. Luckily my neighbour didn't throw away their trash so it just lay down on the pile of cardboard boxes so there was no damage. Before it I was riding MT-07 and honestly I like the R3 more. One thing I would definitely take from MT-07 are the brakes though.
@@MotoChrisOfficial I have more of a sweet spot for Tracer 900 or R1, but those are the ones I just can't afford at present time. So it was: stay with older MT-07 or get rid of it and get new R3. I was undecided until I saw R3 in person and I was sold on it then and there
I'm planning to get this bike as my first sports bike. It costs like a MYR20K here in Malaysia, of course not including the insurance and road tax, which i would keep in mind. Thank you for the great video!
Moto Chris tbh, it’s my first bike and Im a new rider, so I don’t have anything to compare it to. But im loving every second of it so far. I’m still in the engine break in stage. I still haven’t done any mods yet. Looking to get frame sliders, fender eliminator kit, and tank pads only atm. What mods you planning to add?
Something to keep in mind, since you're in Colorado which has a high elevation, you will be affected in terms of power from the engine. Your same bike will produce more power and elevations closer to sea level, so 0-60 times and whatnot will be faster depending on where you live
Do you do anything special when washing/cleaning your r3? Im planning to get the matte black as well but what concerns me is that people say matte finish fades faster and gets scratch easily than gloss finish. Dont know if thats true though. Thanks
Work on your lines and seems like you need to start leaning off the bike, means the bike itself does not have as much of a lean angle so the pegs won’t be getting in the way as often
Looking to get my bike licence soon. Not sure how it works in the US, but we have an A2 licence if you aged 21 to 24, this limits what you're allowed to ride. I'm torn between the this and the Ninja 400. Do you think you will outgrow this in 2 years?
I’m not going to dog you for dropping you’re bike “4” times because of you’re honesty but dang man that seems like a lot I’m a smaller guy at 130 5”11 abs have. Ever topped mine I have sane bike abs I do a lot of backing it out garages/spaces etc
Hi! I just learned how to ride and i am really new. Is it possible to learn how to ride, cornering and how to ride a sports bike well with a Bmw 310 GS?
I'm 50 and have never owned a bike before but I think it's about time. I'm definitely trying to decide between this and the ninja 400. I enjoyed your video from a beginner's perspective. By the way, where do you live? The scenery was really pretty where you were riding the back roads. Very nice
I have the same bike and i use the ram mount with double socket and mount base m6 hole hex (amazon it) and attached it between the tank and center handlebar
I haven't been able to sleep for weeks thinking about which first bike I'll get (currently own a 150cc scooter). Now I'm about to get mine this week and I'm still sleepless on which color I'll get. I'm torn between the blue one as it's Yamaha's color but the matte black one looks sexy. Help please!
I have a 2016 R3. It's awesome. Riding it for 4 years and want to convert to full track. Full yoshi exhaust, power commander/o2 delete/air box mod/metzler rubber, sato racing rearsets, Pazzo levers, and more. So tempted to buy a 2019 in Black for scooting around town. imgur.com/DIvXVpj
Any chance we can upgrade to good brakes? What do you think of white colour? Applying Akrapovik exhaust on this - will it perform better? Are the Lights enough to road visibility? Near and far ? How would you compare its breaking compared to r15 v3 ?
You can upgrade the brakes! Originally I was going to get the white R3. It's beautiful. But after seeing them in person. The black slowly stole my heart. It will preform better with an aftermarket exhaust but only slightly. And only if you get a power Commander/tune. Which is a lot more expensive. The lights are good, I avoid riding at night as much as possible but they do a good job of lighting up the road and making you visible durring the day and night if you ride with your high beams on Get the R3. The R15 is cool but the R3 is way better. You'll love it.
Physically the 400 has more room and power but handling is about the same., they are both super nimble but the r3 didn’t like my weight and size so much at 280 lbs 5’9” and change. May add a blue R3 anyway, love the look and color
Jamie do you have local cell in the Phil? Or email. I have few questions and I hope you can help since you have the R3. Yamaha couldn’t give good info ( believe it or not ) Thnx
Be happy to answer them, My email address has bad language. Inappropriate for publicity. Perhaps uou could tell me how to contact you through messenger. Btw i dont use fb twitter etc, i believe swiping cellphones for hours ruins imagination,
@@MotoChrisOfficial www.polovniautomobili.com/motori/13905172/yamaha-mt-07-akcija Maybe you can for few $ more get a MT09 Tracer and start proper journey trough country and enjoy it. www.polovniautomobili.com/motori/14884809/yamaha-tracer-900900-gt-akcija Prices in EU.
johny genis your state should offer some sort of safety course you can take or, if you’re like me, you can have a friend teach you if you know anyone with a bike. Check your BMV and ask around.
