I think you'd be surprised. There are older models which are still awesome and they are fundamentally an Audi. Expect a lot of mileage. The older models hold their value well as well.

Jay, you should know that you don't buy Bentleys for the excellent gas mileage. Anyone who cares about those things is just looking... It seems you were a bit mean to the Brit... why would you even bring up Aston-Martin? (IMO, I don't like that they made it sound like a Mustang with a loud exhaust - Bentleys are supposed to be silent.)

Ryno, that was my impression too. I noticed a decided lack of enthusiasm after the hood was opened and the oil cap was the most exciting part of the engine Jay could see. He's mentioned many times what a pet peeve that is for him.

15:53 That curved crease over the wheel is just freakin' gorgeous. The whole rear end is a really nice piece of work. If money was no object, this would be my first choice, but in B.R Green, same interior. Traditionalist, I guess. Rolls-Royce are beautiful cars as well, of course, but Bentley has more class. One of my 3-Litre Healeys was British Racing Green with a tan interior and I loved it. Just a great combo.

Like really put thought and engineering into having everything exposed, but tidy and attractive. Even the smog and electronics. I cannot believe this problem cannot be solved. I understand the plastic is for heat control, safety, etc. But those are engineering problems and they can be surmounted. SHOW US THE ENGINE! Plastic is for passenger sedans and SUVs.

Michael McDonald Well, not exactly...he’d be better at Rolls, but even they are trying to appeal to a younger, more entrepreneurial buyer. The uninterested, frank English gentleman regional manager really shouldn’t be on a video selling the car. In the old days, only the wealthiest of the wealthy could afford a car like this, but as capitalism has advanced the entire world, there’s men wealthy enough to buy this who live in places you wouldn’t suspect.

ky le Yeah. The new stuff is like that. No oil dipstick on the wife’s latest ride. Must use the dash electronics to check the oil. 👎🏻🤬 I pulled the plastic to see the engine. Very disappointing look. Unfortunately, it looks better with the plastic installed. Many new style engines have no soul, and this one certainly sounds like it has no soul.

I can't help feeling that Jay should be knighted by the Queen, there is something about him that is very British. He certainly does more than enough to promote British motors, new and old. It's great that he owns and maintains so many of our heritage cars and nobody extols their virtues more enthusiastically. That guy's super quiet! Jay worked hard to get him to engage. He had to start talking about business (number of units built per year, number of sales, etc) to get a decent conversation going! Am I the only one that notice Jay tends to drive over the lines and when he changes lanes or gets ready to turn, he doesn't get all the way over into the turning lane (21:46 - 22:00)?

The car is beautiful. And for the ultra-rich, probably a great deal in terms of price. Goes back to the early pre-ww2 days when the fastest production cars were luxury cars. I didn't care for the color, though (as Jay eluded to), or the exhaust note, which I found strange. I'm guessing they have an exhaust system that's focused on keeping the car quiet at idle and low speeds, while providing low restriction at higher speeds. Something to get used to...but not a big deal, and I'm sure Bentley offers some . You guys are right: Bentley sent the wrong guy to do the show. Maybe he thought it was a come-down to ride around like a common car salesman with a brash American. I was giving him the benefit of the doubt at first, but things seemed to get chillier as time went on. Most English people are fantastic, but there are a few who act like you've offended them just by being in their presence.

If you get one of the last gen ones get a 2013+ less issues. The V8 does have some issues and previous TSB's if you check the audi forums.

I didn’t notice Jay say anything funny though... just because he’s rich and famous doesn’t mean Michael had to laugh at whatever joke he might have said, right? Brits aren’t fake brown-nosers, that’s all... and yes, he definitely knew his stuff - he did smile a few times though in the car.
