Nice video, thanks! It is my practice to do a leak check of the filter and drain plug after all is done, but in this case, it would require gaining clearance (again!) under the car.
Thanks for highlighting the access panel and other places that need attentions. I did the oil change in my other car. None of the RU-vid video highlight the access panel. It took me a while to figure that out the first time.
very good advice about checking to make sure the old filter didn't leave behind the rubber gasket.. That happened to me 1 time at a quick lube place.. it created a massive mess... when i shop for amsoil on their website they want to sell me a 6qt oil change kit.....
Hello, my car is Mazda Cx-9 Signature 2021, when I’m trying buy oil through AMSOIL website, it’s letting me buy 6 bottles in place 5 as you show here, so question is - how much in quart or litres take Mazda Cx-9 signature engine? Google show 5L some websites 4.8L, I don’t know. Thanks.
5 quarts puts you about a little under half way up the dipstick…I like to fill it to the full mark on the dip stick so when I check my oil throughout the year I know if the engine is “using” it
As someone who's always gone to Jiffy Lube and is interested in doing this themselves, how much does this cost vs going to Jiffy Lube and having them do it?
Your short question has a long answer. To summarize...Cost is primarily based upon the quality of oil you use. If you use high quality oil that will protect your engine, it may cost more than Jiffy Lube. If you use the quality of oil that many Jiffy Lubes use, you will save on labor costs.
You need to include tools in your initial math. Altho tool cost get spread out over the useful life of those tools... Tools: Oil Filter Wrench Wrench for Drain Plug Ramps or jack (floor jack) Jackstands (pair) Safety Glasses Gloves Drain Pan (recycle old oil) Misc wrenches for panel bolts Funnel Rags / paper towels Materials Oil: Full Synthetic $6.00 per qt and up Oil Filter: $10.00 and up Oil Pan Bolt Gasket: $1.00 and up
Some of those bone heads were putting 10w-40 in the engines and thr heavy oil was wrecking the lifters...my friend works at the dealership and s half dozen cars came in with thos problem.....they put 2&2 together and 10 minute oil change and jiffy lube were what they all had in common....BEWARE!!
I just purchased a 2021 Mazda CX nine signature I’m going to do my first oil change it just hit 500 miles tonight thanks for taking the time to make this video it’ll be a great help, also we’re do you get your ams oil products
