I have owned Laverda, Moto Morini, Ducati, Cagiva, Triumph, BSA, Zundapp, Indian, Suzuki, Kawasaki and several BMWs. Currently own a 1989 Moto Guzzi Mille GT 1000 cc and a 2013 Moto Guzzi V7 Stone 750 cc. No other bike satisfies my needs for motorcycling like the Moto Guzzi. Reliable, simple to work on and relatively light in weight (the V7) which is important for me at just short of 70 years old.--Mike Battle

I just bought the v7II Racer Number 156 out of 1000, 0 miles. I didn't know it was even more exclusive this year. I'm so glad you mentioned the vibration in the pegs! I thought it was just me being a newb... Anyway, once you start hitting 50mph, it goes away.

The vibration makes me think the bike isn't quite run-in yet. Like you I noticed the V7 III torque come in high up, it now peaks at 4900 whereas the previous model V7ii peaks at 2800 and has that long, long linear power delivery that puts the power in the right hand instead of juggling the gearbox. I didn't hear it roar, I don't think you opened it up and let it go. The front brake is Brembo's finest asymmetric four-pot. Rear is twin-pot Brembo; they'd be upgrades on any other bike.. Metric is standard, very few countries (yours and mine, less than 5%) still use miles and mph.

Cool looking cafe racer. The leather/ohlins/spoke wheels are a nice touch but the single front disk brake/vibration are too much to overcome... Thanks for review.
@1250GSX
@1250GSX 4 года назад
Doesn't need a second disk. You can punt this all day on a track with no fade.
@MauricioRafaelGonzalez
@MauricioRafaelGonzalez 4 года назад
You mean it stops just fine as is? If so, I like this bike a little more - i think it looks really cool. I have only owned one bike but from test riding a few, it seems as if dual breaks were more precise..
@MAIIVIIOTH
@MAIIVIIOTH 4 года назад
@@MauricioRafaelGonzalez the bike has 52 HP and a nice single 4-piston brembo caliper. really don't need dual disk breaks for the level of speed and power in this bike. as for the vibration, yeah its uncomfortable but if you're out of that range its not an issue. (feels more like 3-3.5k on my bike).I have the same bike. Also, the vibration reminds you that you're on a retro engine design and gives you a feeling that you are working hard even at lower speeds and RPM. In that sense, i actually enjoy it. I'm not someone who likes everything to be easy/smooth.

The best looking Guzzi Cafe Racer ever is the 1977/8 850 Le Mans..the only bike that came close, and in some respects surpassed was the Ducati 900SS of the same period...
@brianperry

@@CaliMotoTV ...Of course I am biased because I owned a bright red Guzzi Le Mans in 1977.
@jeffslade1892

They're Pirelli "Sport Demon" tyres. Possibly the worst motorbike tyres available, utterly demonic. Poor dry grip, follow lines, no wet grip, slippery side grip on bends, poor wear. Bike is not heavy. MG always give full wet weight 213kg, dry weight is 189kg; about the same as most sports bikes. The very low CofG makes it feel lighter than it is. Wet weight of the RnineT is 222kg. That extra 10kg is over 22-lb. First V7 was 1967 at the Milan show. That evolved into the Le Mans.

@@CaliMotoTV You mentioned in the review the riding position is not so aggressive in comparison to other cafe-style racers. You have only used one camera for the entire review. A secondary camera would show how your riding position was.

Really nice middleweight, when I came back to bikes two years ago had this been available it would have been the sensible choice compared to my R9T racer, likewise the Royal Enfield. Not that I’d swap the racer now. Is Bogna doing a video on the 719? I like your terminology, “standard” or metric. In the U.K. our old units are rather grandly called “imperial” and most bikers, being of a certain age, prefer them although everything at work is metric.

Nice vid!! I had a v7 racer. Unfortunately had some electrical connection issues with alternator and took over a year to figure out the electrical connection plug was faulty. the vibration shook loose an exhaust clamp and thankfully I was close enough to a motorbike shop that they fitted me back with nuts and bolts. 3rd year in the electrical hose connection to the spark plug had a tear and the bike wouldn’t fire because it was firing to the frame instead of engine. The last straw was that it shakes side ways when you rev it. I took a corner kind of low and as I accelerated it shook, low side and slid away from me. I replaced the components and sold it. The only reason why I kept it so long was because of how awesome it looked. Definitely can’t ride this bike anywhere aggressively.

@@CaliMotoTV I had a 2016 V7 II, then in 2017, they came out V7 III with a better engine. Sold the V7 II, now I have a Triumph Bobber Black. I really missed the engine note of the Guzzi with Zard cans and the immediate power delivery from the shaft drive.
@griffincui
@griffincui 4 года назад
BTW, for anyone who thinks V7 III is underpowered, just install a pair of Fat Duc O2 Emulator for around $85 USD, which will wake the bike up. Here is the link: www.af1racing.com/store/Scripts/prodView.asp?idProduct=56000 , I had those on mine, took 15 mins to install, and reversible.
