2020 Nissan GT-R 50th Anniversary Review - I Get to Drive Godzilla 

That's one well built and beautifully engineered car. Wow. The GT-R will always have a special place in my heart.

Even though it is a very old car, the GT-R for me is still worthy of the Godzilla title. It still has that old school feel to it, it isn't as perfectly refined as some modern sports cars, it still has that 6-speed dual-clutch trans-axle transmission, and it gives it character. It's supposed to feel mechanical and clunky, and you can feel everything. It is definitely a driver's car, despite the electronics. Plus the power that it has is still very respectable in today's age. I mean 565 hp with 467 lb-ft of torque is still impressive. I really don't think that there's nothing wrong with having this car in this day and age of modern sports cars. And the way that Nissan engineered it is spectacular, and Hiroshi Tamura is the one we have to thank for that~~ And it's great that it is such a comfortable car now, and it's super practical for everyday driving. I can imagine if you were able to launch this car from 0-100 km/h, your family would be in complete awe and shock about what happened since you guys would have time traveled into the next time zone in the GT-R :D One thing I will say is that the transmission can be pretty laggy in automatic mode, but I think that's fine if you're just daily driving this, and you don't want to get in trouble if you need to speed up. Since this dual-clutch is pretty old, and that it's sequential and doesn't skip gears, it is hard to get up to speed quickly and that it takes a while for the dual clutches to really rev up. But again, if you don't want to drive this GT-R in R mode like most people do, the automatic mode should be just fine.

Nice review. I’ve never seen a GTR video that highlights the utility and comfort of this great car. People overlook that it’s also a GT.

Great video and nice to see from a dad perspective. This video is one video that confirms that this car would work for me everyday in BC and as dad with 2 kids.

I was born in 1964 lots of great things happened in both yrRs . The moon landing was great. I got my first record player. My 1st car was a 1968 Camaro I loved the design

This car is insane and I love it!

I've driven the R35 only once. Wow. I did own an R33 GTR V Spec RB30 (750bhp) for a year and loved it. If you get a chance to own any of the GTRs (R32 onwards), go for it. You will not be disappointed.

The steering wheel DOES telescope. It’s next to the TILT lever.
