Great review and respect for resisting the temptation of launching from the lights because its a future customers bike with only a few miles on the clock. When I bought my Rocket III back in 2009 after 30 yrs of been a loyal Kawasaki guy (still wish I had not sold that Z1100R!) I decided it was time to slow down a little and had it narrowed down to either a Fat Bob or a R III. After a test ride on the Rocket and fits of giggles every time I opened it up I remember saying to the sales guy "its very addictive" Now 10 years later and soon to hit 60 years young I happily admit to having turned into the Sunday cruiser type of rider I used to take the piss out of but I luv my Rocket III just as much as ever and figured it was definitely till death do us part... Have to say I'm increasingly not so sure anymore!

Personally I prefer metal-shinny and chromed bike looks ranging from handle bar, wheels to drive shaft, etc. Today most bike manufacturers have adopted the black-out design theme for most bike models to attract younger buyers. I wish they can go back to the old days with a lot of shinny chrome parts incorporated into their bike design.

About the cost of a new Road King, but it will not hold its value like an HD. I don't care though, because the R3 is an awesome whip. I have a first gen with a Carpenter Racing setup pushing over 210 hp at the rear wheel. I might be the only one in the World that still finds the first gen a good looking bike.

So I am trying to see all the hype!! Dont worry i am triumph thru and thru! I really luv this bike! but?? I have a 2016 triumph roadster R3. Why is everyone bagging on about the torque?? The old one (mine) specs are here for the 2016 R3 its torque was huge also.. Every person that does a vid on this bike talks torque but the old bike was huge also?? Displacement: 2294.00 ccm (139.98 cubic inches) Engine type: In-line three, four-stroke Engine details: Counter rotating crankshaft Power: 148.00 HP (108.0 kW)) @ 5750 RPM Torque: 221.00 Nm (22.5 kgf-m or 163.0 ft.lbs) @ 2750 RPM BTW I have now increased the HP to 159 ( dino tested) and taken 16kg of the bike simply by changing the pipes!!

@@CaliMotoTV no problem, you know what would be good??, as l think you do an amazing review.. Anyhow this new 2020 rocket is a outstanding bike, as i tested one yesterday (OMG) but NO one has done a comparison between the latest of the old one to the new ( now that would be a great story) there are a lot of old rocket owners trying to work out if they should upgrade? i think you would do a honest story that’s all.. it will need to be a 2016 R3 roadster or later version versus the new 2020. Keeping in mind by changing the pipes you will lose 12kg and gain 10hp these are just slip-ons.. Anyhow it would be a great story, without the hype..

They are a great bike....I Took one of these for a 1 hour test ride yesterday. I Must say, it is not me really. Here is what I found in my experience. 1. Seat was very uncomfortable and hard 2. Power was not as much as I thought it was going to be - pretty flat really, I was expecting some real punch, did not happen 3. hands got pins and needles within 15 mins as seems to be a very high frequency vibration in the bars. 4. Handled very well, you can feel its weight when switching angles on switchback hair pin turns, but it is solid on rails and is surprisingly nimble. 5. Nice Even Torque and you can really wind on the throttle and get past a vehicle in no time without having to change down generally. 6. Suspension was faultless and operated very well, not flex or sway in the corners and felt like I had been riding it for months not minutes. 7. The Bars were to straight, needed to T Bar Back in more of a natural hands forward grip mode like the Harley Fat Bob. 8. Would be nice to have the forward control option... I know from riding all the time, that I could not go 2 hours without wanting to get off this due to pins and needles and sore ass from that seat. I would have preferred T Bars about 10" to make it right for me, A better seat with gel in it would be great. It is sexy though and I like its look better than the Ducati Diavel, due to the swept back rear guard coming off the seat. I would give it an 8.5 out of 10

@charleshendrick7266
@charleshendrick7266 4 года назад
@@CaliMotoTV Heck I can not claim it brilliant... but looking at that gorgeous torque monster of an engine it just seems to make sense somehow and could seriously compete in that class. Look at the lines space between the tank and the centerline of the rear wheel. I can visualize a real comfy passenger seat and a tour/luggage package hiding that dead air space look above the rear tire. As for the front fairing it should not be difficult to alter design of the radiator to be a part of a frame mounted fairing... probably preferable to one attached to the front forks. From all of the reviews I have read those machines have one helluva giggle factor that comes with the riding experience... so theoretically my sweet lil wifey and I could giggle the miles away together. The present design they have on both models for an optional passenger... well, her hiney would not endure that for long. It would go a long way to getting her "yes" vote on the purchase of this machine if she could enjoy it too. Granted I have not looked in to aftermarket options for seats on this model. I'm just now again looking for another serious touring bike. O well.. just 2 cents from a hagged out ole biker here in the USA.. Yall ride safe!

Loved your review. I have a brand new Triumph Rocket 3R, the things I hate about it are its almost silent engine plus the fact that it doesn't have a reverse assist option considering how heavy it is. Otherwise like you said, Triumph nailed it with the looks and power etc This is my new ride ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2KVJzm3_Jzw.html

Small tank, small autonomy, big consumption, big price = big FLOP

Track times, what a waste of tech that would be, it's for riding not just going a quarter mile in a straight line. Wow.
