Here is the original oil filter part number for 2021-2023 IS350 AWD Sport: TOYOTA/LEXUS 04152-YZZA5 I am Continues Improvement Engineer who spent 2 months in Tahara plant in Japan where IS is built. I strongly suggest using OEM Toyota/Lexus filters as well as oil. Toyota/Lexus oil is made by Exxon but has much higher content of moly than standard Mobile One. Moly helps with friction reduction BUT it is expensive hence the higher Toyota/Lexus oil prices. We have 2021 NX, 2023 IS500 and 2022 IS350AWD Fsport. I am using Amsoil Signature in all of my vehicles. I will not recommend this oil to average user because of its high price but if you like best products for your cars - it does not get any better. Drive safe!

What about the regular Amsoil synthetic? Would it still be better than Toyota oil, or the same? It's about the same price as the Toyota brand.

Thanks. The AWD oil pan and filter housing are little different looking. Metal oil filter housing & oil pan drain is terrible in that a lot of old oil gets left in when changing. I ran a couple quarts through to try and get it.

I'm thinking of getting ride of my 2009 honda accord bc it's so loud on the highway. The IS350 is what I'm looking at as it has Hondas reliability but is more quiet. I also assume it's easy to do some maintenance on my own as I've really enjoyed that with the honda. Thanks for the video!
@nicklldoit

It's very quiet, the fuel mileage in city driving needs a lot of work for sure. Plus having to use premium fuel. I should have waited and ordered the IS500, but that's just me.

Excellent how to vid, while the Toyota filter is likely good enough despite its looks. Wix arguably makes the best oil filters you can buy. Completely agree with you regarding why to do it yourself, you know what you're putting in your vehicle the parts you purchased. I never trusted the quick lube places or even the dealership where they often assign their oil changes to the least experienced people. Additionally who knows what's really in their bulk oil and where they're cutting corners to maximize margins. As an added bonus you're sparing yourself from the annoying up-sells 👍🏽

You said this was all the oil you need, in the beginning of the video, but then later, as you refilled with new oil, you said 6-quarts, instead of just the 5-quart container you showed? My 2024 IS350 F-Sport takes 6 quarts of 0W20 full-synthetic, because it's a rear-drive version, not AWD. AWD takes 6.8 quarts for oil capacity. One more thing..........you did a great job with this video. Thanks.

You don't need mesh wiring inside the filter because the filter fits over a metal center tube inside the housing. Hello. Torque spec on the oil filter cap is 25 N•m (18 ft.lbs.) Actually idling isn't that bad for engine wear. Cold starts cause the most wear. So if you drive a lot of short trips where the engine cools down between those trips then 5K oil changes will be advantageous and if you're not sure then play it safe...
@nicklldoit
@nicklldoit Год назад
Very true, but at least it's better built. The point is, not everyone will go to Toyota or Lexus to buy a oil filter. Of course you can order one and wait for it or stop by your neighborhood parts store to get one. I'm not suggesting to anyone to buy this brand, but if you do your research WIX is better than most filters.

Depends how many miles you are putting on your car each year. If you bought it new, you most likely already have a 5 year warranty. Keep in mind the other reason you are buying/ bought this car, that's reliability. Toyota/Lexus are the most reliable vehicles on the market for the past 30-40 years
