Hi everyone. This is a video about my 2021 Bighorn 100. This was an incredible event with absolutely stunning views, rugged trails and was overall just fantastically well run.
Thank you to the Bighorn Trail team for such an amazing event. Thank you to Mile 90 photography for allowing me to use their photos for this video. Thank you to my PT for helping me get to the finish line. And thank you to my friend James for pacing 40-miles of the race with me.
Hope you guys enjoy the video. I'd definitely recommend going out there and running the race!

Thanks a lot for the video. I'm doing 52M in two weeks and have concerns about the moister in my shoes. I did Black Canyon in February, and my blisters were complaining about their blisters at the end. I know it is too late but have you found any good solution to control the moister? I will put shoes and socks into each drop bag, but I want to know if I can do anything else. Have you solved this problem for yourself?

Hey - the best solution I've found is lots of sock and shoe changes. Looking back I should have either stopped at an aid station at Bighorn to let me feet, shoes and socks dry at a campfire. Or I should have changed shoes and socks 1-2 times. I think what happened to me could have been avoided but you live and learn. As a side note, I started using XOSkin socks which help. Roadrunner socks are solid too. But if you experience frequent blisters, I might also consider taping and lubing your feet pre-race. Hope that helps!

Appreciate your video, watching from the Caribbean...and your mentioning "Fixing your feet" Is there any other book you'll recommend for PT exercises and preventing running injuries ? Thanks...

Hi Isaiah, Fixing your Feet is my go to book for foot related injuries. I don't have another book I go to for PT exercises; instead I recommend seeing a licensed PT who can help treat what you're dealing with. One ebook I have yet to read (but am interested in) is called the Resilient Runner by a PT named Ben Shatto. It looks like a good option to help people with running injuries who don't want see a provider though

Is it hard to get in to this race? Does it sell out fast? Do you need to send an application and hope your drawn? Thanks

Bighorn is not a lottery but it does sell out relatively fast. I believe registration opens in the summer/fall and sells out by the spring? But I'm not really sure. No application to run but it's a tough one so I'd still recommend going in with some ultra experience and experience running in hot temps. Hope that helps!

Hi Paul - thank you! Upon a quick google search, it looks like the Custer battle took place in Bighorn National Forest but more north of this race (in Montana).
