Thanks for the commander content. Also looking forward to seeing it up against the general with the sxs blog guys for a better comparison, that xt looked like a bucking bronco. Keep up the good work, I’ll be watching it.
It looks great. Coming from a former G2 owner I like it . Until I get to wheel it I couldn’t make a decision between them. Loved my G2! With that said I really like the profile of this rig. Looking forward to seeing the shootout with the SXS Blog G2XP!
Couldn't agree more on the upgrades you get going to the XTP vs. XT. But I pulled the trigger and bought a XT and I'm really loving it! Excellent review.
Great Description... I own a 2021 Maverick X3 XRS Turbo-RR w/ Smart-Shox. I'm sure this new Commander will run right along with everything else on East Coast style riding trails (non-desert). If I purchase an additional SXS it will certainly be the Commander XTP. It's a true dual-purpose, and practical machine.
Really good review and covering all the details! Its difficult to find a thorough one for any machine, this was well done. Hard to believe a 30K X3 doesn't come with some of the basic features on this unit, hope they step up their game for the next gen because the X3 is bare bones on fit and finish as well as nice utilitarian details, the design still feels hurried and not efficient for storage or common basic needs.
Great video. Like I’ve commented before, you guys seriously do the best reviews in my opinion. I’ve been a SXS Blog man for years, and I love their content, but you seriously seem to be the best reviewers. I also love your Doug-like thank you at the end of the video. People seem to like that. I’m a proud M3 Off-road subscriber and have been since you started. By the way, I ride a lot in central WV. Where can I buy a M3 Off Road shirt to advertise your channel. It’s the least I can do for the hard work you guys do for us.
Huge Thanks for the amazing comment! It really means a lot to us!! Email me Ryan@M3offroad.com with your size and address and Ill send some to you from our next shipment.
I have an XT. LOVE IT! And ur videos are great! Are their any performance differences in the XT OR XTP? Clutch work? Can I add those tires and rims to mine without any mods?
If you get a opportunity to look at an intimidator GC1K it is a quiet machine that would fill in the category of the can-am defender seams to be a well made Machine made in America but it is not a commander. Good video thanks for the walk through
interesting to see it hold 7200 rpms on the dyno but most people talk about the weights causing it to hold the rpms lower on the street to keep in the peak torque. i see alot of posts about swapping the primary clutch weights out with the ones from the maverick to make make it hold a higher rpm under WOT.
What about seat height and position compared to the R-Max and General? Is this the same as the Maverick? That would be a huge difference if it felt like a sport bike with a bed. The General and RZR searing position is totally different than each other. Obviously the R Max is way different than the YXZ. What’s y’all thoughts on that? Thanks for the great review!
How was the cab space for you for a day of riding? I'm 6'3" and wear a size 14 boot. I wanted to order a XTP Max but when I sat in one at the dealer, it was a little tight..
Good video guys. How does that thing compare to KRX on takeoff power? I’m trying to decide on commander or KRX. I like more speed but krx is a beast and has a great ride.
That's honestly a very tough decision.... the KRX is a Beast and rides amazing. However the XTP is almost silent compared to the KRX and the Torque is really nice. Seats also are very comfortable. I suggest you try both first. if you in the MI area get ahold of us and take a test drive.
What other can am models have the same windshield and rear shield? Having trouble finding any in stock since its such a new machine. Thanks in advance.
Quick question on the belt intake. When you say you can only go in water this deep why? Isn’t it sealed and the air intake up on the side by your shoulder? Please explain. Thanks
Yes you could very easily route the belt exhaust up and you would be good up the the frogskin vents above the door line. You still can do it without really hurting anything but chances are you will slip a belt. Thanks for watching! We appreciate it!!
It seems to be a issue. People are seeing either 7200 or 6800. There is a lot of talk about switching to the weights and primary spring from a maverick Sport and it really wakes the machine up.
I have an XTP on order... question for you guys... on the front bumper there’s two mounting tabs for accessory lights... could you measure the distance between the holes (center to center)? The light bar I ordered is in... curious if the mounts will line up?... while I’m waiting for the unit to show up I could fab new mounts if I need too. Thank you.
Does it get HOT in the cab ? My older Commander 1000 DPS got so HOT I couldn't drive it when it got to be 80 degrees. Even after I put 3 layers of GT SOUND MATT material in the center console.......
We are getting together with some of our RU-vid friends this weekend. I haven’t ripped the trails yet. As soon as I do I’ll update you. It’s really hard to compare the X3 to the commander/maverick sport chassis. So far I’m very impressed with it.
Hey what’s the measurements from the front to rear, just wondering looking to get an xtp but I got to buy a trailer and idk if 10ft will be long enough for this Machine
Thanks for watching! They are the hard coat front and rear for the Maverick Sport. They share just about everything from the bed forward. 500ish for both
I was torn between this, the rmaxx and the KRX. Went KRX simply because I think the Rmaxx is to small inside and cheaply built. The commander is ugly as its a sport with a bed on it. Plus can am only offered full difflock on this model which I personally think the colors are horrible. Had the XT camo came with difflock it may have been a different outcome on my purchase(maybe). In my opinion the KRX is the best on the market although not the fastest ... it'll do anything good and its proven by shock therapy to have the best suspension out of any sxs on the market. I don't worry about drag racing a trail machine or who has the most HP... I worry about ride and reliability.
Nice looking, but really doesn't seem to compare with the Yamaha Rmax 1000 ... especially that machine's dual clutch system with 10-year belt warranty, 3 power modes including one crawl mode and full locking diff, electronic smart suspension, more travel front and rear, higher tow capacity, 7 inch TFT touch screen with GPS, and on and on.
I leave mine on the softest shock setting and it seems pretty plush compared the the others I drove. Your Max is probably a bit heavier, also new springs will break in and not be as stiff after a while.
Polaris general has fully finished doors in and out and for handle on outside. It will be along time before any competitor competes with the general especially the XP
Eric Cass............I can tell you from experience, the CANAM is a much better built than a POLARIS! I have had both, and the POLARIS broke down on both of the ones I owned. The General I had (2017) Left me on the Mountain one time!! I have had two CANAM machines, and neither of them had ANY issues at all! The GENERAL had several recalls, all of them concerning FIRES!
