2021 F-150 Powerboost / 3.5 Intercooler Upgrade with the CV Fab Titan V2 

Hey Dan - came back to this video. Good stuff, thanks again for putting so much effort into these.

I've used a Full Race V2 since my 2017 Raptor, currently on my 2019 Raptor, and will be installed on my 2022 Raptor when it comes in. Aftermarket Intercoolers are well worth the money. Great Video thanks for taking the time to make it!

I don't even own a F150 but this was pretty cool man.

Finally got around to installing mine (21 powerboost) and I definitely had to remove that trim piece around the air dam and trim the air dam itself about a half inch to get it in there. Also may have wanted to mention the 2 darts that hold the wire for the oem blow off wire. Unless I missed it in the vid, they were tough to get at and you can’t drop the stock intercooler without popping em out. Also it was definitely necessary to remove the stupid speaker and the mounting bracket (also a bit of a pain to get at) to mount the new one. Fortunately I already had that resistor or whatever it is plugged in to speaker connection that tricks it. It’s a nice intercooler though, well built. I can also say that the sound deadening in this truck is not all that impressive. I gutted and deadened the entire cab when I put a stereo system in. Not a good time at all but worth it, truck is extremely quiet and no rattles whatsoever. Thanks for the tips though, great vid!

I’ve been looking for a bov for my 21’ powerboost. Can I use the same bov on the stock intercooler? Is it just plug and play or will have I have to mod it to work ?

so by removing the pedestrian warning device did it make your check engine light come on?? Love all the content on the powerboost

I know those ramp struggles, I have that issue trying to pull my Fiesta ST up on mine Edit: do the intercooler flaps have to be on the vehicle? Id remove them for maximum airflow over that large intercooler

In my opinion the blow off should be located so as to drain liquids from the bottom of the cooler!

Thinking about getting this intercooler with the aluminum cold and hot air pipes. What’s the difference from the stock?

Just installed my CVF intercooler on my 2012 Ecoboost and noticed a huge difference, not necessarily in temps, but in power and MPG...MPG maybe because I don't have to push the engine as hard due to the increased available power.

Also watch your transmission. Just had mine fail with only 10,056 miles. Ford engineering said they are seeing it in volumes. First sign was dampness around the trans pan gasket. 5-6 months to replace and 30 days to look at it… #powerboostlife

had the same issue trying to get up onto my ramps wth them sliding. My dad told me to put in low gear So i put in rock crawl and up she went.

Okay the OEM "Blow off valve" is not a blow off valve it's a Bypass Valve, you installed a blow off valve. OEMS use BV's to reduce turbo lag and for sound control, but with as small as these turbos are there really is no need for a BV and a Blow Off Valve just makes the truck sound cooler. Second the reason we are replacing the BV with the BOV is because once you start turning up the boost they get damage. The valve it self is just plastic and doesn't like anything over 15psi if you actually push the truck a lot. I set my little bros 2020 2.7l up with 3" down pipes into race cats, into 4.5 axle dumbs, with a S&B larger filter and y pipe, then 91 octane 5Star tune. But we blew up the BV when we hit 18psi, so we did the same BOV you did. Our next addons will be this intercooler with their hot and cold side pipes and turbo inlet pipes. Once we have that we're aiming for 20ish pound of boost. If we want more boost then its a turbo upgrade.

I drove the six speed and the 10 speed you can definitely hear more blow off from the six speed

Did you have to trim plastic from the back of the shutter? Mine did not fit flush. The top rubber mounts of the intercooler would not line up.

How on earth did you remove the speaker under the truck? You did it blind with an that stuff in the way.

I think an intercooler upgrade is a good Idea, especially here in AZ! Will Ford give you a hassle with warranty issues? I’d also run an oil can to extend the life of the turbo. Post the video of you towing with it. I would also be interested in how it impacted your MPG on your trip to LA and back. Nice video!!!

Nice. About the same unit as the Cobb I installed on my 18 Raptor. Works way better if you have a guage to watch showing your intake and charge temps.

Did the truck throw any codes with the pedestrian removal?

Where are you getting this oil from, PVC? I Put an Oil Separator on my F-150 Powerboost for under $200, which eliminates the oil from doing the Damage infernally to the Engine... I'm getting almost 28 mpg with mine.... I'm not changing anything, GAS is too EXPESIVE... I'm not ruining my MPG...

This is definitely a well made product, very happy with mine. Just wish someone would finally come out with a high end CAI for the powerboost, the Roush unit just does not appeal to me. Surprised no one else has stepped up because at this point they’d sell a pile of em with very little else to choose from. Glad some things are finally trickling out for that motor though.

my son in law put a tune on his Powerboost and took it to dragstrip.....13 second 102mph ....not bad for 6000# truck

PCV issue - That's what I thought at first, then a found that a VVT solenoid was going flaky at 33k (they should last at least 75k to 100k). Anyways, I just ordered the V2 with the Hot/Cold pipe kit (because I'm also in Phoenix). I didn't want the vent to atmo. BOV, but TurboSmart makes a Plumb Back version now. (P/N: TS-0225-1202) I want more power but I also want to still be quiet and sneaky.... kinda/sorta be a sleeper.

the VTA is better to have because it doesnt recycle the excess pressure back into the turbine it just vents it. So the point of it is to take strain off the turbos and get more longevity

A cash cow and train wreck in slo mo. What a bad deal if not an out right purchase mistake. Wait until the battery needs to be replaced in 4 yrs. Total cost ? an arm and a leg.
