The second day of the Three Rivers Land Trust Fall thru hike of the Uwharrie Trail. From Yates Place camp to Jumping Off Rock trailhead. Approximately 12 miles of backpacking.
Beautiful hike man. The doughnuts and hot chocolate is a great breakfast to sustain a whole hike for multiple hours lol. When I do holes like this I wake up about 2 hours early and make me some bacon and eggs I have a small pack that goes in back pack that hold a small.piece of dry ice and then you put your cold food in it on other side and stays cold for a good 4 dots with out melting it puts a little ice and frost on meat but not frozen. Dont eat random mushrooms you will either feel really good and have the time of your life, have some nice tasting mushrooms for a meal or kill you. But that purple mushroom you found in perfect shape is called amethyst deceiver and is edible won't make you high or anything it's just a really good tasting natural mushroom that you can eat raw or saute in some butter on a skillet for steaks. And that yellow mushroom is edible has no taste at all and not make you high
I filmed that exact same random culvert. Pretty cool to see that rock work out on the middle of nowhere! MAN! I was hoping that the segment that you filmed at Jumpin' Off Rock, as we were coming down the hill, would make the cut! I have finally uploaded my footage and working on a trailer.
That segment that I was filming was either Shane or Billy's gopro. They wanted me to film it for them so all four of you could be in the shot. It should show up in Shane or Billy's videos. Keep a lookout on their channels.
Day two was by far the hardest for me, good thing there was a few vehicles still at Tower Rd when we arrived 🤣 I actually had my first ever Sawyer failure on this section and I'll be investing in a Katadyn soon! I haven't tried yet to see if I could clear it of whatever had it clogged but it wouldn't filter a drop.
