The tech isn't hard to use, you're just old.

THANKS YOU! Honestly, NO ONE is going to know how to use every feature, activate all those driving assist mechanisms, right off the bat. Learning any car’s infotainment system does take time and getting used too, but it’s not rocket science. 🙄

Wow! You guys reminded me of why I left OhICEo for south Florida in March of 1974! All that talk of snow tires and frozen stuff on the windshield! Thanks for that. 😺 PS: I own a G80 and love it. Lots of tech but no more than my Santa Fe has! Hyundai has been advancing a lot in the past few years.

The reason Nitrogen is used in aircraft is because it is a more stable gas and not affected by temperature changes as much as air. Aircraft systems have to maintain correct pressure to work just as well at 70 degrees on the ground and -40 degrees at 40,000ft.

I love Talking Cars, but good Lord, anything that has updated tech they complain about. Can y’all please catch up to the times and realize that people are buying and enjoying these new cars with all this tech and electronic shifters? It’s becoming a bit frustrating.

Malik, a couple of years ago, I had my heart set on getting an off-lease 2017 Mercedes C-class. Then I looked at the cost to own versus mainstream brands and gave up on it. I wound up getting an off-lease Mazda6. For the same price you're going to pay for an A4, you could get a loaded, fun to drive 6 Grand Touring. And they're very reliable.

Nitrogen filling on automotive tires is a scam tire shops use to get more money. Sad thing is that some tire shops only do Nitrogen filling, so you don't have a choice whether or not to pay the extra amount when you get new tires.

I live in Florida and frequently drive up north for winter holidays. Before nitrogen was introduced for auto tires, this significant change in ambient temperature would inevitably cause the low tire pressure warning lights to illuminate and I would have to add air to the tires. But once my dealer started using nitrogen in the tires, that problem disappeared. Consequently, I have been a strong supporter of nitrogen in car tires. This resistance to temperature change was not discussed on the program. What is CR's response to nitrogen's advantage that has been proven in my experience?

Anyone remember a manufacturer that raises their price $5,500 after introducing a refresh? No ones talking about this. 2020 G80 msrp $42,550 and 2021 msrp $47,700 base models. Still going to buy one, but wow what a price increase!!

Too bad the Genesis GV80 and G80 have been "de-technologized" coming to America. In Australia and in other countries, you get the new "virtual reality" mapping system. However, in the USA it was dropped due to legal concerns. You can thank the lawsuits of America scaring Hyundai/Genesis from launching the technology in the USA.

Well, when talking about the A4 you guys forgot the Volkswagen GLi... It's much of the A4, but significantly less to buy it and to service it.

I had nitrogen in my Scion from new. I only drove the car summers so the original tires were on for over 7 yrs. When the tires finally wore out I put new ones on. The original tires after 7 yrs only lost less than 2 pounds pressure in 7 yrs . So I would say it isn't useless to use nitrogen in certain circumstances.

To Malik. I know it's tempting, but don't do it. I own a platform cosin to that car, a VW GTI, and even though it's not a premium brand, it still finds ways to kick me in the head and run off with my wallet quite often. Right Covid-19 hit my company my car needed a timing chain, it snapped quickly and took the entire head of the motor out with it. The total cost was $6k but I got lucky because I found a shop that would do it for "cheap". on the audi you're looking at it would be more like $8-10k and that's if you get lucky and don't crack a piston, which requires a whole new engine. I was lucky, I was saving up money for something else that didn't pan out and ended up draining my savings to pay the bill. That might not be the case for you. I also had pretty expensive repair bills before then as well. a spare key was $200, four new tires cost me close to a grand (aftermarket wheels that fit only High performance tires), my front brakes and a brake flush cost me close to a grand, and so on. in short, I spend almost as much maintenance for the car in 2 years of ownership. Had I known that, I would have gone for a new Toyota Yaris iA and called it day. My advice, if you can pay cash for the car, and don't mind walking away if it goes kaboom, go for it. but otherwise stay away from "excotic deals" there is no such thing as a cheap exotic car, you just end up paying the shop owner instead of the dealer. Also, I ended up picking my GTI over the A4. Both had made my short list while I was looking for a new-too-me car. After test driving the Audi, I decided I didn't like it. My GTI was way more fun, and I didn't want to eat my hands every time I changed the radio station in the VW, because it doesn't have MMI. A system that seems designed exclusively to make me tear my hair out. If you do want to cheat a little, you might want to check the price of parts and labor, but the Hyundai Genesis (the one that would later become the G80) might be a good way to get a luxury car without really getting the label, and all that comes with it. I think the second generation might be close to your price range, although you might not be able to get the V8 or AWD. But the car has so much standard equipment, that's all your missing out on. but also consider the mazda 3, a very good deal in this segment, and provides most of what the audi does at a lower price.

Wouldn't nitrogen in the tires extend the life of the pressure sensors inside the tires(by eliminating moisture)?

Comparing accord and camry with an A4.. this is just hilarious! They are nowhere near in terms of comfort, technology, and handling. Actually, 2017 A4s are pretty reliable overall. They kept the same drivetrain for over a decade and kept perfecting that same 2.0 engine. Repairs are not that expensive if you are a car enthusiast and know how to DIY.

Somebody just bought an Audi...the Accord isn't reliable anymore, but it's just as good as an Jettaudi...er I mean A4 otherwise.
@RatKing59
@RatKing59 3 года назад
So then is it reliable or not? You’re referencing repairs for a car that’s only 3 years old. If it require repairs in the first five years (/60K miles) of normal ownership, let’s not call that a reliable vehicle.
