@@mrduk3999 what do you need for the permit to get a motorcycle license if youre over 21 and no driver license yet? Also after you get a permit whats best method to get started?
Heck yeah!! Congratulations broski!! I’ve been riding for many years now and finally decided to get a permit about five months ago and im nervous as hell to take the test. I mean, everyday riding is a piece of cake but every time I think about taking the test I get so nervous. They say California is one of the easiest test to take but dang it’s the fact of someone watching you ride. Lol
Congrats! Thank you for the video as well! North GA? I am in north Atlanta myself. The funniest thing is though, if I did not know better, I would SWEAR that was me talking! You sound EXACTLY LIKE I DO! Like your duck too! ;)
Congrats. I'll be getting mine here soon, just gotta familiarize myself with this new bike and knock off the rest of the rust and hopefully I'll see you on the GA roads 🤘
@@mrduk3999 I feel that I watch DanDanTheFireman to brush up and get rust off. I used to ride all the time in Europe, but if you ever see a black and carbon/red triumph speed triple r gimme a Lil wave. 😂
Very very useful thanks. I just got my permit yesterday. This is at my local testing center but I understand they don’t do the skills test here any more. I think I have to go to Gainesville.
In the second test if your bike is less than 600cc you are supposed to make your U-turn inside of the dashed line, not the solid line of the box. I don't think he even told you that.
Thanks for the video. Looked like you were able to do the entire test in 1st gear, getting to 15mph? I'm using my honda monkey next week and not sure 1st gear will easily make 15mph? I plan to practice as much as I can before the test and determine if 1st gear is practical, but it seems like a shift will make the swerve and stop drills more complicated.
Live in Georgia as well and trying to figure out what goes into getting a license and if I need to take a class or not (I have a bit of motocross experience is why I ask.) I guess from his question on the engine size that my plan for a fz-07 as my first bike is out the window
late congratz with your licence. But geez this is simple to get. Here in The Netherlands this is your first test but way more and way harder. You have to do 10 tests, 5 slow moving and 5 fast moving. You can fail 1 of each. After this you may drive on the road supervised by an instructor to teach you how to look, place on the road, etc.... And if he tells you you can apply for a licence, you can take your "road test" .
For whatever reason since I was younger, I always thought that the instructor rode on the motorcycle with the driver lol. I didn't know how a motorcycle road test worked compared to a car haha
I'm from Georgia. my test was last Saturday. I whent over there Friday before to practice. I did pass the test. It does make a difference with the instructor watching . I was nervous. I used a 125cc bike. I'm 215 5'10 . I own a harley davidson. road king with a 21 in tire. Lol a small bike 125cc really helped me pass it with ease. good luck 👍🏿
@@6855mike also if you know someone with a small bike like that ask can you borrow it, the bike I used belongs to a friend of mine. Trust me it does help pass the test with flying colors.
@@6855mike Mike one more thing. I loaded the little bike on my trailer and practiced with it that Friday . My test was at 9:30am last Saturday. I hope this helps.
I’ve had my permit since March but just now getting my first bike. In a few weeks. Gonna ride for a few months to get used to it before doing the skills test. Beyond nervous about failing it in all honesty. Any advice or tips?
I’m scheduling my written test at this location and I am super nervous about the actual corse. I’ve got a ninja 300 I haven’t rode in years bc of an accident. Any tips on how to pass and to feel comfortable while taking this test?
It's a very simple test. Nothing to worry about. I would practice in a parking lot with cones. Your 300 will definitely make it easier to complete the test. Just stay calm it's actually very simple
@@mrduk3999 bout to do this on my Harley night train, been riding dirt bikes my whole life and aced the Harley course a few years ago it’s still got me a little worried tho haha
Hey! What are the steps to get license in the state of Georgia ? Or where should I start ? I wanna get my motorcycle license, but not sure where to start 😬
Just go to the dmv website setup an appointment to take the written test. Once you complete the written test you do the same to set up the riding portion.
@@mrduk3999 I have been riding for few years already.,and we are about to move somewhere in ATL and my plan is to get a bike for my daily commute and also for interstate ride during holidays.,Thanks!
In Georgia, there is no limit to the size or type of motorcycle you can ride. You can take the test on a 1000cc and then buy a 300cc. Once you have your license, you can ride any STREET LEGAL motorcycle. Though I do not live in other states, I am 99.99% sure this is the same for all states as my license is valid in other states.
I don't have a bike yet, and what I've found on the DDS website says to bring your own bike for the test. How would I go about getting my class m license before having a bike?
i could never figure it out, i looked everywhere and never get an exact answer. do you need a drivers license to get a motorcycle permit/license? i dont have my drivers license only permit and idk if i need it for the motorcycle permit.
I took my test on friend of mine 125cc. it was a peace of cake on that small bike. I own a harley road king with a 21 in. tire. Lol I wasn't taking any chances of failing. just to pay 32.00 and have ti retake it in a month lol. if you know someone with any small bike it really does help.
Are you on a Grom? I just got my permit again after losing my license years ago(Fuck you Bryan County), and was thinking about buying, and taking the test on a Grom since the only other bikes I have access to are my dad's Harleys. Edit: Your name just clicked....
bro. you can pass it with that size. if you know someone with a small bike you'll ace it. I own a harley road king with a 21in. tire. I used a 125cc last Saturday morning and aced it. any small size is better to me for testing. the less chances you have with messing up on a smaller bike.
@@mrduk3999 I'm just so nervous but thanks for posting the video now I can prepare I've been riding 2 wheels since 10 but these street tires on the motorcycle hit different then dirtbike tires haha
I don't like the way my state does their license. "Don't ride a bike here without a license or we'll bust your ass, ya scumbag, and also, to get a license, you're gonna need to bring a bike." I think that keeps people from trying a motorcycle in their life, and also means more people riding dirty without a license, risking it.
