👁 About this video : Today we drive the new 2021 Hyundai Veloster N equipped with the DCT 8 speed transmission! The Veloster N is the sporty version of Hyundai's quirky 3 door hatchback! The 2.0L Turbo engine packs a good punch and the new DCT 8 speed really delivers power well! The shifts are extremely quick and the paddles are very responsive. The interior of the 2021 Veloster N has two tone leather and fabric along the seats. The front seats are a bucket seat and looked amazing while also being very supportive and comfortable I loved the light blue accents for the stitching and seatbelts too! The exterior of the 2021 Veloster N looks super sporty in red and the black accents help give it an aggressive look. The interior is very simple with a lot of plastics. Nothing fancy about it. But it's functional and easy to use. The navigation screen has a cool mode for all the driving setting and performance parameters which was a great touch! Driving the 2021 Veloster N was pretty fun! Very tight suspension and steering and plenty of power! Great little car for some mountain cruising, auto X or a good around town car!

I have been a fan of the car for a few years and now it is available in a DCT I had to get it. I am a three pedal guy but I absolutely love the DCT, it is a game changer. I never noticed the cup holder. LOL

Do you mind if I ask what cars you might have had before. The reason I'm asking is I'm curious how you would compare driving your new VN to other possible performance cars you might have had. I have a 2015 mk7 Golf R DCT, and I was also a manual guy all my life b4, and now I'm addicted to DCT. Looking for DCT only cars really limits my choices but I just love that transmission. And considering I live in South Florida, as much as I love my Golf R, it's already 6 years old and time to trade it in or sell it before things start going wrong as I'm out of my warranty. Plus I have tons of aftermarket performance mods on it and a stage 2 APR tune which has been running about 30 lb of boost for the last almost 5 years and I don't want to get hit with a $3500 Turbo replacement repair. I don't need AWD down here and was trying to keep low to mid 30s for a high performance drivers car that's also lots of fun. Adjustable dampers is important to me and a lot of adjustability in general like M cars have. The new Veloster N 2021 provides all that and more. When I test drove it, I could immediately tell it was much sharper, more communicative and an overall better performance car than my mk7 Golf R. It's also the first FWD car I've driven that doesn't understeer in the corners. That front elsd is amazing! So I was just wondering your impressions on the driving experience, how is it to daily drive, and how does it compare to other performance cars you've driven in the same segment or similar segments. And if you're generally happy with the purchase. If you don't mind 🙂 I plan on getting ultra black, even though I know white shows all the cars black trim and details best, I just love it in Black. What color did you get? Thanks in advance

I have spinal issues in my upper back, and spinal trauma in my neck from being assaulted years ago. I don't understand peoples complaints about the car being stiff. I mean....yeah....you do definitely feel the road. But even driving around in N mode on the crappy streets we have around here, I haven't been having any problems. In eco mode, feels softer than my wifes Forrester 🤷‍♂️

BOth would be fine. Whatever is in your budget. But maybe a nice used one would be best. That was it's significantly less and easier to repair if anything happens. Great car tho!

I found a Veloster N being sold in Germany, in a town near Leipzig. Keep in mind that the Veloster N isn’t officially sold in Germany; this was an improved one from either South Korea or the United States.

Yeah thats the only downfall with the car. Dash, doors and center console are just plastic. Would be nice if they covered it in something better

A car we really really need to get in Europe. We get the Hyundai i30N in Europe. Note the i30 is the Elantra GT - we get the manual and DCT transmissions. The Veloster R looks more sporty than the 5 door i30N. European models should be made in the Czech Republic like the i30N. I know this was made in South Korea for the US market.

Yeah it’s pretty basic. The seats, Nav screen and steering wheels are cool. But the door panels, center patrols and dash could certainly be upgraded

I have the veloster 2.0 not the N. But what I know is this, the base is extremely potential. Just governed a hell of a lot. But I Recently put a chip and a cold air intake. And now making roughly 300hp. Haven’t dyno it yet, but it’s a rough estimate. I’m poor so I couldn’t afford the N version, so I’m making my own veloster N 😃

Europe also gets a smaller i20N with a 1.6-litre engine with 204 horsepower and only a 6-speed manual. 0-100 takes approx 6.6 seconds.

Yeah, but the best hot hatch subcompact car I have to say is the Toyota Yaris GR. Same engine size, one cylinder cut off, but a whopping 261hp. Still has a 6-speed manual and 0-100 or 0-60 takes 5.5 seconds.

It's basically a 2 door hatch but has the easier access to the back. So its a good blend from a coupe and a 4 door

I don't think the transmission determines the body style ;) And a DCT is a fantastic option that makes this car a faster vehicle than the manual version. Still love the manual option!

The most vague review I've ever seen. Didn't even mentioned that full performance package is now included for 2021. No mention of torque vectoring front LSD, overboost button (NGS). Didn't showcase the 8 different adjustable components. Including active exhaust, adjustable dampers, steering, engine, DCT, LSD and ESC which can all be adjusted between eco, normal, sport and N Mode. You opened the page for half a second and closed it. The 2021 now has a proper launch control system where the RPMs can be adjusted to the exact number you want to launch your car at. You have a 0-60 as well as a circuit-specific lap timer. You spoke nothing of the vehicle's steering feel, or if the front elsd helped mitigate understeer. This is a performance car first and you spent most of the video talking about cosmetics and how much you "like" the seats and "like"The styling, and "like" the wheels. How about while you're discussing the wheels, you let us know that they are 19 in and are wrapped in pirelli p zero summer tires. Nope. Absolutely nothing. I don't even own one of these cars and have only watched a few reviews and already know everything about it. This was a sad sad State of affairs my friend. Take this as constructive criticism. I have nothing personal against you sir but this was not a vehicle review. This was you taking a drive on camera
