You are absolutely correct, the little things that could so easily be changed during manufacturing can make or brake an RV deal. Manufacturers, listen to the customers.
Outstanding video post! The best ho eat post I’ve seen. I learned so much from your experience! These items will never be exposed by any sales staff! This industry is tough on customers. Thanks for your input and feedback!
We just bought one identical to this. We have only went out on it once. We have the same problem with our t.v. Control as well. Glad you posted this, we will check out our frame and pipes underneath. Thanks!
Man.. I really appreciate this. We were about to buy one of these over an Alpine 3700fl and I didn’t even think about this. Especially the low clearance on the backend. You saved us headache down the road for features we really didn’t even need. Much appreciated. And got the dip in. Salute my man.
This is one of the best reviews ever! I have a Toy Hauler and I've found so many of the same issues with mine. You would think the people that design these things would spend a couple of weeks camping in them so they would find these issues before you spend a bunch of money on them.
I think Keystone was listening- another commenter said a lot of these issues have been resolved in the newer builds. I’d love to see one. I’m planning on another video showing a few more fixes, improvements and upgrades I’ve done.
Nice video and great information. We have a 40’ Cougar 368MBI (2018) and saw this model about a year ago and really liked the layout and was almost tempted but too soon. I did notice the back end being lower and the water tanks slightly less holding capacity. Your roller wheels on the back should be factory installed. I hope they see your video. Well done.
On the Interior, I'm glad that the Control Panel had a door to cover it. I'm super glad about an Honest opinion of things. That's a great thing to me, compared to someone Trying to sell you a unit. I like the Honest Opinions the Best. They don't make me Hate this Brand at all, but I like to know about Details. Especially Important ones. Overall a great learning experience. Thanks.
Really love it. As with anything like this there are a few kinks to work out. I should probably work in the RV or Marine industry because I am constantly re-engineering, tinkering or upgrading things.
Thanks. Really like this fiver a lot. I may make a follow up video with a few other things I’ve found as well as some modifications and upgrades. If the weather will cooperate...
Thank you for this video. We are currently looking for a fifth wheel & thought we knew what to look for (having owned 2 bumper pulls previously) but you have pointed out many issues we have not considered.
So this is a followup to a my previous comment. We purchased our 377fl back in November 2021 and were totally in love with it despite the issues mentioned in the video, specifically at about 1:30 second into it. I watched this very video prior to purchasing ours and had the dealer install skid wheels on the back of it to counter the low hanging rear end. Fast forward to the end of March 2022 when we finally took our new camper out for the first time. Getting to the campground and into our spot was pretty easy, the real problem came when trying to get it back into our driveway. We have a pretty steep slope going up the driveway so what we discovered was, from the back of the camper to the rear tire is 15 feet of overhang. The rear of the camper and the skid wheels made contact with the driveway long before the wheels on the axles even came close to going up the slope. One of the skid wheels hit sideways and drug rather than roll up the driveway and in pretty short order, broke off the hub. So I had to park it on the side of the road in front of our house and wait for the replacement skid wheels to come in. The dealer only had a 4" wheel which on the manufacturers website stated that size was for a class B motor home. I opted for the 6" wheel which was rated for a class A motorhome. The new wheels arrived and I thought things would be smooth sailing now. We took the camper out this past weekend to a Thousand Trails campground in Williamsburg Virginia. We got a nice big pull thorough site that was really easy to get into. The problem came when trying to leave the park. They have very tight turns in the campground and it was very difficult to make the tight turn to get on the road going out of the campground. I managed to make it out without hitting any trees. Once again when we got home to park it, issues with the skid wheels. This time the right rear one got in the grass and sunk pretty deep because of the weight on it. When I pulled forward to straighten up, the right rear corner of the camper contacted the pavement and pulled the corner away from the body. At that point we decided that it even though we absolutely loved the layout and room inside, this camper was just too big for us and our driveway. At that point we drove to the nearest Camping World and traded it in for a 30 foot long Cougar. We took it in the shorts on depreciation but it will be worth it not having to deal with the stress of having the Montana. Like I said, the 377fl is amazing but if you're planning on traveling around the country and want to get into state parks and older campgrounds that weren't designed for the larger campers we have today, this isn't the model for you. It perfect if you plan to go to larger resort campgrounds or parking at an annual site and only going a few places.
Sorry to hear about your troubles - and this is definitely a big RV and you have to plan ahead on where you’re staying and be on the lookout for inclines. My rear rollers are still holding strong and still make contact with the road at least once almost every outing. Slow and steady for us.
I probably will never be able to afford this type of RV but I found the entire video to be quite educational and entertaining. It would be cool to see Big Truck Big RV address these types of issues.
Thanks so much for your tips I am looking for my own 5th wheel doing ALOT of research Wish more owners would give tips about the little quirks for theirs. I hadnt really thought about getting one with a loft but will be checking that out. Thanks again
We were gonna buy a 2021 Montana high county but backed out last second.. glad we did.. ended up getting a 2021 grand design reflection 311BHS and glad we did. Good honest video thank you
Wow, lots of issues the manufacturer should have addressed during designing. I hope they see this video. We have a 2018 Montana 3560RL, and we have zero of these issues. I do have that same side mounted sewer hose storage tube, but I am able to push 2 lengths of sewer hose into it. I often wonder if that plastic plug cap will ever pop off and have sewer hose dragging along the highway, not a good look. Great video, thanks!
LOVE this review!! I wish more people made more videos like yours instead of just reviewing it to try to sell it to the user. I am also currently looking at this floorplan for an upgrade for my family of 5. I currently have a 2017 Keystone Bullet 330BHS and have experienced the same issues with them. I completely agree with your ideas and hope that Keystone reviews your video. I do like Keystones version of this floorplan over several other manufactures. Can you tell me the height of the Loft? Does the A/C for the loft only dump into the loft,or is it tied into the bedroom down stairs. Again thank you.
Thank you for this awesome review, those obviously not well thought out flaws & their attempts at saving money are definitely an eye opener! Thank you you have given your audience many things to consider! Yet things that can be corrected & brought to the manufacturers attention. Now that you’ve worked the bugs out, Happy Camping!
Great video!! Thank you. We bought ours a month ago and the fresh water tank has been out biggest problem! In our rig the washer/dryer cabinet is smaller, so installation has been challenging and will result in some owner changes :)
Just bought a 2016 Montana 3950br with an awesome layout. Upgrading from an older 1999 Snowbird we learned a number of areas Keystone needs to think more about. They are very good at building boxes but they seem to have no sense of how a camper is going to be used. Usability Engineering is a big part of camper design and it's obvious Keystone has let all of theirs go. The Snowbird had features in the correct locations (eg: Water pump switch by the faucet, not on a panel 15ft away) and made use of ALL the extra space. The front compartments on ours cannot be opened when our truck is attached? The Snowbird had that figured out 20yrs ago with a dual hatch idea. Still love the floorplan and we're learning how to maximize areas Keystone obviously overlooked. Thanks for the video, good points.
We will probably get the regular Montana because of the cable slides on the High Country. There's a big price difference so if I knew the cable slides would be OK we might consider the High Country. There's not much else that the regular Montana has over the High Country. Great video very well done.
My last trailer was a 2014 Outback Terrain 332. It had 3 slides and all were cables. Those were fine, it was the gearbox on the electric motors for the slides that we had trouble with. Two failed and were replaced under warranty. They were fine after that. So far so good with this one.
We just struggled with the auto level errors last week! Everything you have brought up, we have had to adjust/personalize with our 2020 381th. Great video. We cut a filter screen to go in front of the steps to keep debris out. An attempt to figure out a problem with the heater which turned out to be a relay switch. They don’t offer enough open shelving or easily accessible outlets. And yes the set of keys is overkill. 😂
Thanks so much for doing this, your review of this awesome floorplan helps us immeasurably; as we just ordered the 376FL 10 days ago. We will address all of your points at the PDI with our dealer, prior to taking possession of the unit. I was worried about the space in the loft as my 2 teenagers are very tall as well, but reading all of the great comments below has put our mind at ease, and we now are confident that we choose the right unit for our family. The steel rollers welded to the frame is genius, I'm looking to source them locally now, and will weld them on for sure. Question, my wife loves the metal mesh screen on the screen doors of the Montana models. Does anyone know if we can order the metal screen, and if so will it fit in the High Country Doors? Our lapdog guard-dog loves flying through the plastic screens to chase other dogs....
Thank you. Now, how are you keeping it cool in hot weather? We bought the exact same as yours. We took off the bathroom door and installed a barn door. Also, do we really have 2 black tanks on our model? Anxious for a reply.
We just took delivery of our 2022 377FL. it looks to be almost the exact same layout as your 376FL. I watched this video a few months ago before purchasing ours and remembered you pointing out how low it is in the back. I had the dealer install swiveling skid wheels in the back for exactly the reason you mentioned. Thank goodness I did because my driveway is really steep and the wheels hit the pavement long before the main wheels started going up the incline. Another thing on mine is the location of the drain handles for the 2 gray tanks and the black tank. Yours are at least a foot to the right side of the steps, the put the cover for mine so the middle of the cover is right in the middle of the right side step rail. I can't open the cover to drain the tanks unless the steps are up. So overall, you did a great job pointing out issues you have with yours but I do have to say, some of the things you complained about, really? Extra keys, what's the big deal? It's not gonna ruin a trip having to rifle through a few keys to get to the one you need, especially since you seem to go to great length to label things. Holding the TV remote up higher? Come on, how hard is that? If I had to guess I'd say you may be an engineer by trade. Remind me of my old boss who thinks exactly the way you do, you guys could be twins LOL. He's a self proclaimed PIA engineer. But like I said, overall, great video point the major flaws out. Oh, the leveling system does have flaws for sure. When mine was delivered it had a message Error LF Jack and it was beeping. After going to youtube University it seems that the 4 rear leveling jacks don't like to be fully extended. Apparently there's a sensor switch when they're fully extended that generates the error code, The fix for this is to put some blocks underneath them so they don't fully extend. To clear the error you have to manually extend all 4 jacks about 6 inches or maybe a little more to be on the safe side then do a retract all jacks. When they're all fully extended, the error supposedly clears. I haven't tried this yet but the 4 or 5 videos I watched all agreed on this point. I liked the addition of the PVC for the "stinky slinky" sewer hose so that's something I'll be doing to mine as well.
Ha, thanks. I was being a little finicky , true. I actually went to school to be a mechanical engineer but ended up be a sales manager later in life. PIA DIY upgrade guy now. I’ve learned a few more things with this coach - planning a sequel to this video. Just haven’t had time. Did yours come with Rainier brand tires? If so keep a close eye on them. I’ve already replaced them after 1 year and less than 5,000 miles.
I have the same MHC and I bought mine used. It was 2 weeks old and still had paper plates from the original owner's purchase. When I got it home I realized the tank drain was ripped off by the previous owner. I repaired it and installed the same rollers. With the rollers I damaged the drain myself so I ended up just plugging it since I don't plan on using the tank and if I do I can always pull the plug.
I'm sure you found out by now, but do not block off those "Vents" under the steps!!! They allow heat from the interior of the coach to get into the under belly and into the storage compartments to keep them from freezing. I have a Montana and the dealer told me that. I did remove them and stapled bug screen to the back side of them.
No Sir you are not complaining you are just talking good old common sense. I really hoped your video is reaching a lot of RV owners.Ouck how is your wife's ankle? God bless you.
I feel your pain!! I have a 2020 376fl and I have ripped off the fresh water drain 3 times and did a similar repair in the valve. I have ripped off my license plate as well! Extremely frustrating! Looking at installing the drag wheels in the back. The auto level was new to me and I struggled with it at first.
Thoes are all things you have to figure out when you buy a new Rig. We have had 3 Montana's and love all of them as we have upgraded. Big 5er are a hole different experience.
More than half of these are industry issues across every TT or 5th wheel, not necessarily Keystone issues. Unless you’re looking at DRV or Luxe. Thanks for sharing.
Comes off a bit nit picky but these small things do add up and the price of these campers is pretty high so they shouldn’t have some of these issues at all! Great review and awesome camper 👍
Holy smokes my wife and I went looking at a new 2022 today just like this one but after looking at your video makes me second guess it now. I’m glad you did this review but maybe next time you should highlight some great features if there is any LoL
For the faults I pointed out we still love this trailer. I was planning to do a followup video on all the good stuff as well as some of the modifications I've done to make it better. Just haven't gotten around to it yet...
Regarding auto level. I’ve learned to eye ball the grade and used the yellow Lego leveling blocks. This allows me to add 1-4 inches to the side or end that’s on the grade. Problem is it tends to raise all the wheels off the ground, but I get level.
How does the AC work in the master bedroom? We like this layout. But my husband really likes it cold at night. At least 67 degrees. Also, did the metal casters help the back end not drag?
The AC is the rear master is not very great. We inquired about adding a 3rd unit but were told it can't be done. I"m going to look into rerouting the flow right off the unit into the ducts better. I've already fixed and opened up a few of them that the factory did a terrible job of installing. The metal casters on the back are an absolute lifesaver.
I found on my unit that the screws that hold the metal trim on that bedroom stair are too long and were sticking out the bottom of the plywood. Got me real good on the toe!! (even after watching your video and being conscious of the metal trim miter)
We are looking at this exact one. How has it held up over time? Any major issues or floor spongy? I’m worried about rear lowness ours is typically moved by companies.
It’s only been a year but ours is like new still. Not sure I understand your spongy floor concerns. From other commenters it sounds like the low rear clearance has been addressed by Keystone and is potentially not a problem anymore. I have yet to see a newer production model for myself to confirm that.
We have drained it pretty low once while unplugged and I didn’t use the battery cut off switch. That is pretty common because the CO2 sensor is a slow steady drain. Even the dealer said if you let it sit long enough this will drop the batteries.
Great video, thank you!! We’ve been considering this model for some time. How do you find the heating/cooling between the loft and bedroom? Example, to cool the bedroom does the loft become an ice box or vice versa? Also, the dealer told me they can’t add an accessory hitch on the back because it’s already so low. So no bike racks. Could you put a couple bikes in the kitchen when it’s all closed up? How is maneuvering this rig, seems like it has a really really long ass. Thanks!!!!!
We got it at the end of summer so only one trip in the heat. The AC seemed fine as you can close off some of the outlets in the loft. It is a bit noisy up there. Ours has an electric heat pump which we’ve tried to use more than the furnace. The living room is definitely warmer than the rear bedroom so we have supplemented a little with a space heater. Heat rises so the loft has been fine. I would rather mount a bike rack off the rear ladder vs storing bikes inside. The kitchen wouldn’t work for that. It takes a little getting used to backing up because your pivot points are different than a bumper pull trailer. Basically it’s not as responsive to your adjustments. I’ve been pulling trailers most of my life and could thread a needle with my last 37ft bumper pull. This is my first 5th wheel so it has taken a little getting used to.
@@robertmungo5428 Accessories? That’s what the truck bed and compartments are for. It’s prepped for a generator in the front. I have a portable generator I can put in the truck bed along with firewood. Chairs, tables and just about anything else will fit in the compartments. A bike rack off the rear ladder would be easy. What else is there?
I'm sure you could have a welder fabricate something for you as a hitch goes. You could use a receiver with a 4 to 5 inches of rise for a bike rack. I fabricated my own but instead of a bike rack, I use a storage rack for bikes. Use one of clamps used for hitch receiver to eliminate any play on it
Thanks for the video, 1 question as you mentioned you have a 3/4 ton truck pulling your unit. What is the tongue weight with this coach and do you find the 3/4 tons is sufficient for pulling this coach. I am assuming the coach is around 15,000 LBS??
Pin weight is about 2500lbs and pushing the limit of my cargo capacity. Empty its about 13k, loaded 15k. I did some upgrades on the truck including springs, air bags, HD brakes, and I feel confident now and within safety margins. But I'd rather have a 1-ton. Tows like a champ, it's the stopping and staying in control that is more important.
I have this exact camper and I towed it with a single rear wheel F350 for a year. The wind loading was just too much for this. I converted to a dually and now I’m finally happy pulling this beast.
Great video!! But the door on the wrong side is right in the neighbours garden, not very convenient...I would hate to be the neighbour and have someone come out of their coach on my spot all the time. Tfs. Dominique
@@BergKnowsBest Usually the doors are on the other side, this one on the beginning of the video is on the neighbour's side, I know I live in one almost full time, it would be in my neighbour's garden. All RV parks have the outdoor living space on the other side. ;-)
This was awesome we are just in middle of ordering this model my one question in the loft is there room to put another mattress we have 3 boys and they don’t want to sleep together so by the pictures I think one would fit but not sure any help would be great thanks
Also instead of mounting a shelf check out these shelf for cable boxes or DVD players. You can get 3 for $13 on Amazon. It's called a Screen Caddy. www.walmart.com/ip/Screen-Caddy/449852799
What do you think of the pivot bathroom door? This is the model my wife and I both like but she believes the door is going to be easily damaged by grandkids.
It was a little weird at first but we got used to it. I have 4 grandkids and no problems yet. Did have to adjust it up once to line up with the latch, but I think that was from bumping down the road. Not from misuse.
Thanks for the video. It is only the second year I believe of a new model so I would hope the manuf. takes these into consideration. How did the rollers work out?
I recently ordered a new unit and upon delivery it was found that the delivery service from the manuf. cracked the fresh tank prob by dragging that discharge tube on the ground. Sounds like you got lucky not cracking your fresh tank.
@@BergKnowsBest where did you get those rollers, and what model are they? I am getting ready to buy this model, so I'll weld them on as soon as i get it.
Thank you for this video! We just bought our 2021 377fl on October 31st and nobody told us it had a sewer hose tube on the outside. What a cool feature. How did you attach a 2nd one? That's what we need to do next.
I used a 4” vinyl fence post. Painted black and cut down to about 3ft. Add a 4” square u-bolt around it and anchor to one of the floor supports coming off the frame. I used some of the standard travel trailer Camco bumper caps on either end.
Hello. I just purchased the same RV and tore the drain off the water tank as well. I did repair it like yours. I also wanted to ask you where you bought those metal caster wheels? I searched the internet and couldn’t find them. Thanks.
The piece in the steps in the kitchen that you were saying you weren’t sure what it was, that’s a centri-vac. It’s literally a vacuum that you attach a hose to and vacuum everything in the rv
As a person about to buy their first fifth wheel and looking at Keystone as an option it's nice to see these little details. I have a truck like yours 2011 Ram 2500 but when I look at the weights it has me wondering if I should get a different truck. How does yours do pulling this rv? I am assuming you have added air bags or helper springs to combat the squat but are you "over loaded"?
I was more inclined to upgrade my ‘paid for’ 2500 than try to replace it with a 3500. I have upgraded brakes, suspension - air bags, and tires. Even without air it only squatted a couple inches. I was surprised. I only run about 20psi in the bags. I’m sure I’m right at my limit with payload but the truck handles it incredibly well. Rides level, stops well, pulls hills doing 70. I do believe having the water tank in the very rear and full may offset a little pin weight too.
I bought this exact camper and pulled it with SRW F350 Diesel. The camper is too much for the truck. So I bought a dually with long wheel base and now I can safely tow this camper. It’s too much for anything less than a dually.
Lol man I found a lot of things wrong with the rv, but like you I’m also a DIY guy, so that being said I’ve found that out water heater was not plugged in and had to find the outlet it was supposed to be plugged into behind the stove, I also found 2 a/c ducts were not connected. One in master under the stairs and the other in the back end of the loft. Man and after buying this rv I realized a stackable washer and dryer does not fit in the designated area so I had to remodel the stairs going up to the loft to fit a washer and dryer, also tor down the master closet because it not functional at all and fully remodeled that as well, lol I can go on and on I also remodel the loft as well to be more functional, it came out great 👌🏼 oh man and just had the front outlets lose power including my fridge 🤦🏻♂️ I’m thinking there is a gfci somewhere below the storage that I have to reset just need to find the darn thing
@@edwardcholewa5764 It was edge trim you’d use with vinyl plank flooring - stair step edges. Like this: www.lowes.com/pd/ProCore-2-in-x-94-in-Legacy-Oak-Prefinished-Oak-Stair-Nosing/1000888042
WOW WAS THIS HELPFUL. We bought a 2021 390DS with the rear drop frame. My dealer said "no worries" when I asked the question about dragging the rear end. Took it from dealer to our seasonal site. pulling in and turning up a small hill the right rear hydraulic jack got stuck on a very small lifted rock. My worries were real. I believe the jacks are to low in the rear, going to be raising them up to a recommended height of 6-7 inches off the ground. I will be installing the rollers in the rear. Plan is to take this fifth wheel to Florida in October from Maine. QUESTION? when the unit drags on the rollers, it will lift the rear of the coach putting tremendous pressure on that frame, any thoughts on that? Can it push it through the floor or will it just raise the rear end as it goes? Thanks again for your review.
If it’s going to drag so hard that it will lift I think I’d stop and try to find another route if possible. The welder who put the rollers in told me that the frame back there is rock solid. Like a 10” I-beam if I’m not mistaken. If you raise the rear jacks you’re going to run out of throw on the hydraulic ram very quickly and need to use blocks under them for leveling. I already have to do that now sometimes. Plus I would imagine Auto-Level would need to be recalibrated.
Another question, how is the cooling in the master bedroom under the loft, our 2nd bedroom under our loft hardly gets any cooling out of the vents, any suggestions?
@grberglund I wanted to ask you if you’ve had issues with the under the sink compartment and shower plumbing giving out a very foul smell? I don’t see a mini vent there but there is one under the kitchen sink…any help would be greatly appreciated
No problems in the bathroom vanity or shower. We had water under the kitchen sink once. I suspected the vent but turns out it was a dishes drying rack dripping that was stored down there.
Thanks for the video. About to buy one. In your opinion if the drain line of the rear tank is tucked up like you did, why not just let the back of the frame slide on the high spots? Are the rollers protecting anything else? (Sweet design on the rollers by the way. I just wonder if it’s worth them taking away two more precious inches of clearance.)
I debated that too. But I’d rather replace a damaged roller than have a carved up frame that will start rusting. I also don’t want to tear up my road with dragging vs rolling - the HOA wouldn’t be too happy about that. Plus if a driveway entrance or something has a high spot the rollers will help to protect the tank and underbody covering. The location of the drain made it a shorter run to go out the side vs out the back. I positioned it so there’s no climbing or reaching under it to get to the valve.
Another thought - if you are backing up and hit, the frame could actually start digging in and things could get really messy. Not going to happen with the rollers.
@@BergKnowsBest Thanks that was helpful. For any new camper purchasers reading this, no matter how much clearance you have, backing into the ground or a curb can tear things up. Mine today has 23” clearance. And I’ve stuck it in the dirt. Always, with every trailer, triple check while backing up.
I am looking into buying this RV. I am also 6.3, how is it going up and down the stairs to get to the loft. My family and I are looking to be full timer, would you recommend this rv for full time use?
Ww could full time in it very easily and may do some month long excursions when the world open up again. The loft is not bad at all. We’ve had two adults and two kids up there. You’d have to be very organized to make it work full timing and I would not plan on using the washer and dryer hookups in the bedroom. Very inconveniently placed.
Great video and thanks for pointing out the issues with the backend clearance. Just a quick update, we purchased a 2021 377FL last week and they have actually changed the under belly and rear end to fix the clearance issues. Our was manufactured on June 17, 2021 according to the tag so I'm not sure when they made the updates, but now it looks much better. The great thing is that from what I can tell, there wasn't any change to the height in the loft or the bedroom to make the improvements. Definitely not going to be great in the bedroom if you are 6'6", but at 5'10" I have plenty of headroom to spare. They also moved the power hookup to the more common area on the left side instead of off the back. Another change is that the backup camera prep is not for a Furrion or WiSight - it's just a generic cap with power running to it. Nothing huge there - just something they changed. Didn't fix the bedroom stair issue with the metal corner so we put a baby corner protector on that to stop any injury from happening at two in the morning. We were soooo very happy and surprised when we saw these changes so obviously Keystone was listening to you. Thanks again and let me know if there is anything else anyone wants to know about the new "mid-year" updates...
Found it. Can you make a quick little cell phone video showing the clearance of the back end of your unit. If they truly fixed this, this is the unit I want.
@@PAS2010D Sure - give me a little bit and I'll post something for you later today. I can say that the clearance area that he measured in the video is closer 18 inches now... no fresh water drain in the back either.
@@PAS2010D I just had my wife check and it is 18 inches of clearance now at the back - it does slope a bit to get a little lower as you move forward with the lowest point being around 14 inches. It's no lower than than the axels though which is nice. Here is a quick photo of what the back looks like now - photos.app.goo.gl/JuFHihKptZ7oi3jv7 Here is the height (the background makes it look lower, but it's not as you can see in the first picture) - photos.app.goo.gl/oPzqLagQLfdv3Xt58 And here is a long picture of how it rides overall from when we picked it up - photos.app.goo.gl/p4uWq85hSHr3VzLe8 You can see in that last photo how it is much more level all the way front to back. I'll try to get a video of it later today when I get home, but I am sure a lot of people were curious. My wife posted about it and the changes in a 376FL/377FL Facebook group and there is a lot of discussion going on about the changes...
@@BergKnowsBest i have a question for you..you guys have owned this for awhile..how is it working out for you all?..we really love the floor plan..how are your rollers on the back working out for you
@@Veetribe. Absolutely love this 5th wheel. The storage is great (I carry a patio size bbq with us and tap into the propane outlet by the stairs). The living space is amazing - tons of room and comfort. We are seriously considering some multi week trips. The biggest downside is the heat and AC to the rear bedroom. It’s just weak. Heat is easy to solve with a small space heater. The AC needs help. I may try the rvairflow.com setup or something similar this coming summer. Also plan to replace the windows up in the bunk with ones that open. The rear rollers work perfectly. I am planning on adding some LED accent lighting up in the living room so you can have a little light vs blinding fixtures.
These are the ones I went with. They’ve been great so far and saved me many times. Ultra-Fab Products (48-979021) 2" x 2" Weld-On Steel Mini Roller a.co/d/5QZ9h91
Thank you so much!! Like others have said, your information about this trailer has been so valuable especially for those of us just about to purchase this same camper (ours is the 377FL) and don’t want to tear stuff apart. THANK YOU!!!!
What Casters brand/exact measurements did you use? I just put a deposit down and want to take care of the Frame/Driveway issue. Can you be specific and did they solve the problem?
Yes, these were the ticket. Problem solved but still, take it easy if you know there’s a chance to bottom out. Ultra-Fab Products (48-979021) 2" x 2" Weld-On Steel Mini Roller smile.amazon.com/dp/B007HG0MJE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_BeLeGb94GSF4E?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
@@BergKnowsBest I seen a video, before this, with those little casters on the back. Damaged the back of the trailer and frame, if they hit a little harder. So, would it be, if it can be, better to add Shocks and perhaps more leafs to the springs?
@@jimcatanzaro5164 I don’t think that would work work too well as you’d be raising the height of the trailer and the center or gravity. This thing already feels incredibly tall.
@@BergKnowsBest yep. I think best for us would be a bath and half rear living, or something that does not have a rear drop frame still with full time rv in mind. This is not easy to find one that will work out well for us
A half ton couldn’t do it. I’m pulling with a Ram 2500 (3/4 ton) with beefed up suspension and brakes. Pin weight is advertised at 2,465 lbs, but with the fresh water tank at the very back I think that offsets some weight when it’s filled.
Get a smart TV and use a flash drive to record all your movies. You won’t need a DVD player and you will have more space because you won’t have to store your movies.
Did you reach out to Keystone? I am curious because I have the exact same unit with the exact same problem dragging in the back. Keystone is telling me that they've never heard of this issue. I am working with the dealership now to help resolve the issue. But so far Keystone and the dealer seem surprised that this is an issue.
I have not tried to reach out to Keystone but they did comment on this video. I was back to my dealership in March for a couple small warranty fixes and I pulled the service manager out and showed him. Said I would not let another one leave the lot without the rear rollers. He agreed.
@@michaelkrentz1659 Yes they definitely work, however you still have to take it easy on inclines and elevation changes where you suspect it might hit. I have not had to fix or replace a tank drain again since installing these and you can see the scuff marks on the rollers so I know they are doing their job.
Most of these problems seem to be specific to your model which is unfortunate. We just bought a Montana and dont have these issues. I dont know why they would have an entrance on the drivers side as most campsites are set up with utilities on the drivers side.
The 2021 has a winterization inlet but that is for pumping anti freeze into the pipes. I don’t think you’d be able to fill the tank off if. I’d suggest a drill powered pump or electric transfer pump but it would be time consuming. www.harborfreight.com/750-gph-drill-pump-56847.html
@@snake1700grizz Absolutely do. Haven’t had a problem since. They’ve scraped a few times with zero damage - I try to take it very easy when I know it’s possible.
I've got a 2012 Laredo and had floor rot from wick on bottom edge of slide. If they put a drip edge on side wouldn't of happen. Like the new fl montana and would buy one but I see keystone knows about these types of issues and don't fix the new models. If their design team would just watch videos like yours they could make better rvs
