😂😂 I understand you bro, I got a 2000 M roadster but at least that one is reliable. Haven’t had any issues with it except for a valve cover gasket leaking oil. 120 dollar fix and back to being a daily driver.
I fucking hate when car channels do that. I remember when no one was looking at the 996 Porsche turbo and prices were dropping then two RU-vidrs dropped videos. Went up 10k INSTANTLY
@@Dance1617 well it's not that the car TYers are raising the price... They gave their honest reviews, and then educated consumers increased the demand of said cars. Can't hate them for that.
@@amorgan20111 No, you can't hate the YTbers for that, but you can hate the fact that for many years now there were multiple hidden gems among the affordable cars that you had to like for your own personal, very specific reasons to understand why it's good (or you had to _actually_ have a good sense of style yourself to know that people would come around to a new design), but now you just need to have a bit of free time and show a mild interest in cars to be recommended excellently presented, entertaining, popular, and informative video reviews of cars that *used to be* or *would have been* hidden gems in a few years time, but that are now so well known and popular (by people with too much money) that they are being sold _thousands_ of $ above sticker price, with most "Limited Edition" variants these days selling out before even being released to the public. It's now much, much harder to get an affordable deal on all sorts of cars simply because there is such an excess of concise information presented in an entertaining way that people who are literally just bored or that have more money than they know what to do with are suddenly informed enough to snatch up all the low priced gems that they can get because they know they will at least hold their value, if not gain in it. There's no one really to blame all that much (except maybe people who hoard cars exclusively as investments or "because I can") for taking away one of the already scarce ways that some of us poorer folk had/have to (at least temporarily) feel richer than we actually are.
@@rskrks 100% agree, it’s an amazing car! The F87 platform is so important to me that I kept my original ‘18 LCI M2 as well haha. My local dealer had a misano blue on frozen gold M2 CS (my dream spec) that I didn’t act on and I probably should have.
The jubilation on Thomas' face when he's driving the M2 CS is something that every car enthusiast has to feel at some point in their driving life. It's seriously what it's all about when it comes to autos. Love Throttlehouse!!!!!
Hey guys. I literally own the Mach1 in this video. I have the same badge # on my dash M2283. It was the press car and Straight Pipes beat on her too. But I maxed out the Ford warranty with no deductible and F%&$ LOVE IT!
The M2 CS had better be faster than just about any Sports Car - ESPECIALLY at 100k... (most likely more) Truly heart breaking that you couldn't track the MACH1 - I'll bet it would have shocked you. - I have a 17 Grand Sport 3le Anniversary and my MACH 1 was just 1.5 secs below it in track times. NO, I'm not kidding. They are really amazing - ESPECIALLY - at 63k... fun, awesome sound, down right brutally fast and nimble.
@@fredericoespinoza I bet the M2 is so much fun to drive due to it being smaller. I feel like it's much more ideal, these cars just keep getting bigger and bigger. I should have gotten an M2, honestly
You know man people talk shit about BMW and how Mercedes is better its really not the m4 is better than the c63s the m5 comp shits on the gt63s and e63s the m5 is cheaper. The m2 is a very special handling car honestly BMW is really killing it I love it so much and hope to own many BMW's
Lol what, the mach 1 is just a shelby gt350 with a coyote engine. Or in other words, it's just a GT PP2 with the intake manifold and transmission from the GT350. It barely puts a scrape on the GT350 and the ss 1le wrecks the gt350 around a track so hard that after the ZL1 released, Ford stopped sending their mustangs to race tracks to be tested because all of a sudden track times don't matter anymore, even though every previous shelby was developed and tested for the track
@@cagriyuksel6448 sure maybe from a review and information point of view, but "those 3 old guys" were way more fun and entertaining than the current top gear hosts.... The epic challenges that they did were amazing
@@giladvand just like every German car people do that on the motor won’t make it to 120k miles without oil consumption issues, blowback, and seal leaks
Mmm keep it! My buddy has had his e46 for a long time with different setups. He is now running a turbo, with sequential shifter. Timeless ride with soo much aftermarket support.
It's blast to drive, but I do have a general complaint with the standard M shifters in that they feel a bit imprecise. I recently updated to the Carbon / Alcantara shifter from the M Performance Parts catalog (same on as I had in my M4) and the experience is even better now.
@@SILBERautomotive The trans on CS is pretty good, just rev hangs on 2 and the throw is a little long. I’m planning on doing the clutch delay valve delete to fix the rev hang and an extended clutch bump for the throw and it should be perfect. Maybe a taller knob too since I’m a little taller and the lack of the arm rest makes arm position higher.
Your review a few months back of the M2 CS was a huge reason why I went out and bought one. I’m sad Thomas didn’t get one. You missed out! This thing is an instant classic!
@@harrisr1018 Maybe for a brand new car, but I still wouldn't get it, it overheats on track, has gear grinding issues, and still understeers as you can see in the video.
At a similar price no question about it, but the Mustang is way more expensive. Mach 1 starts at €30.000 over the Type R here in Slovenia. That's $36k+ difference!
... the CTR LE goes for around mid-$60k USD and up around me. You'd have to be phenomenally stupid to be paying that, but then again, the Honda crowd is filled with them. Literally the most expensive of the bunch while being the slowest. You can't make up that level of stupidity.
@@CU08 yeah the m2 and the mustng both are way better. This type r doesn't even have the Honda reliability that their fanboys are always talking about.
Its crazy how you can get mustang mach 1 for the same price as civic type R LE in north america. Unfortunately im from Europe and jf i had that option, id obviously get mustang
Makes sense! VW does a Nurburgring setting on their Clubsport's and R that have softened dampers - it actually keeps the wheels on the ground better in undulations on the pavement where a stiff suspension won't have much contact as the suspension stays in place. Awesome video again guys, gripping from start to finish.
The thing about the typeR is they just over did it with the styling it just looks way to cheesy that's why I didn't even think about buying one instead I bought a 97 acura integra added the JDM conversion front end, new paint champion white , k24 swap, bride seats, Garrett turbo, 500hp. getting ready for AWD
Same here, except I foresee the CS going up in value big time. It’s going to become un-affordable very soon. If I had the $$ for two new cars, I would buy the GT350R and keep it as a very rare occasion car, due to its skyrocketing value for low mileage ones (can I say early retirement 😀), and then buy this M2 CS and use it as my track car. I would keep my current GTI as my daily because it’s that good as a daily and fun car (will be 500whp/480wtq soon 🙂).
I have a 2020 GT Mustang but ordered the Mach 1 delivered in September if everything goes as plan. But this being said, I looked at the M2 too cause taxes included, the Mach 1 and the M2 are the same price tag in Belgium. But tbh, the Mach 1 and the V8 is so pleasant so I went for the Mach 1 🥰
@@JacesOwnWorld there is no Shelby sold by Ford in Belgium. Only the regular Mustang (ecoboost and GT), Bullit and now Mach 1. And with taxes in Belgium, the price of the Mach 1 matches the price of a GT350R
The CS is the perfect car for me. It basically takes everything I loved about my 135i - size, tossability, relative simplicity - and shoves all the things that made my M4 great into that sort of package. Incredibly rewarding to drive, and I can't help but just put miles on it. I was planning on building up the 135i to make that my primary autocross car, but the M2 has basically superseded the 135i and M4 for everything I'd be using those cars for. As sad as that is, I don't see myself driving those any more so I'll be looking to sell both.
Ah yes, the highest performing coyote platform mustang with the handling track pack with track specific features cannot be driven on track. Nice one ford. Calling a car that is forbidden from track use a track car is like calling some electric soccer mom grocery getter a mustang.............oh.............I see.
jacob folkringa BMWs are actually more reliable than fords, BMW Is the 9th most reliable brand at 95.2% after 5 years and Ford is 18th most reliable with 93.7% after 5 years, although Ford has a couple models with really high scores like the C max and kuga that got near 100% overall across their whole model range BMWs are substantially more reliable.
Well this explains why my friend in his type r LE was 2 seconds slower than my 21' type r last track day. He was on the cup 2's and I was on hankook rs4 tires. I expected it to be the other way around.
This is very unusual. My Type R from 2019 gets much better cornering speeds with the Cup 2 vs original sport Contact 6. Entry and exit are around 5 kph faster on a 100 kph corner. Tremendously improved grip at lower speeds as well, puts the power down very easily. Does the limited edition come with the RO1 specification cup 2?
@@JoshuaTootell tires were listed for reference, the cup 2 is a faster tire. This is the point I was making, the overly stiff suspension is unsettling.
@@johnss2k434 they do roll quite easily but my biggest issue is they started delaminating on me. The tires only had 50 miles on them and after 1 track day on a 1.4 mile course, there are threads showing on the edge of the rear tires because chunks of rubber are missing.
Just shows the potential BMW usually leaves on the table with their trash alignments on most M cars. OG M2 understeers like fwd and the software cuts all boost until you straighten the wheel. So happy they clearly fixed those flaws and released its potential!
It's sick to have a running lap speed and drag race for all you're cars you've tested, that way people can know exactly which places where and what they would wanna buy. It makes people wanna watch more of your videos as well
The Mustang is the route I’d go. I love the Mach 1. And Civic Type R markups are insane. On auto trader, I came across 3 Type R LEs, and all 3 were asking 87-90k.
@@yungactivist Most are. Even regular Type Rs are being Marked up pretty high. I found a few used ones from 2018 with like 30-40k Kilometres on them and they were literally asking MSRP for a new one. But when you go look for a new one, they are asking 55k.
Thats alot of cash for 306 hp..I like the type r but there not worth over 53k at max.should start at 39.5...great top end and handling but that price you gotta be over 400hp for me
Even the Civic Type R LE, which can be had at MSRP at some dealerships, is HALF what the M2 Comp costs. And you can’t even buy an M2 Comp. They are sold out.
LE is nearly impossible to find at MSRP in Canada or USA. If you find one at a dealership they will likely want a large market adjustment. However this week I got a regular 2021 CTR allocation at MSRP. It is far cheaper than that an M2C or M2 CS and is a better family car. Just depends on your needs and budget.
Exactly - the two cars aren’t competing for the same buyers. Folks who were lucky enough to land an M2 CS, might be unhappy when the C8 Z06 comes out soon....
@@touringteg Every Honda dealer within 40 miles from where I live is selling the Type R right at MSRP. None were even a dollar over. Idk why its marked up anywhere else because I live in Chicago, which is a large market in itself. People are saying that the Type S is gonna be marked up. I doubt that's gonna happen here.
@@touringteg That sucks big time. How long do these markups usually last? I hope the dealers don't markup the 21 TLX Type S. I know the 22 Genesis G70 & the Kia Stinger GT2 wasn't marked up
I grew up like your typical Honda and JDM fan boy.. Fords are never on the top of my list of vehicles to buy. But anyone that picks a Civic Type R for the same price of the Mach 1 is a total idiot and deserves to get ripped off.
Hey guys... can you do us all a favour? Please put a GT350R through its paces with new cup 2 tires. We would love to see where it stands up to all the other vehicles .. Please and thank you...
After the Viper ACR video I thought - how will the Canadian/British dudes top this video? Aaaaand they have almost done it. Even with the lack of hooning, which is, of course, slightly unfortunate. Greetings from Latvia and well done once again!
The m2 is literally the perfect car the value on these cars will skyrocket in the next 10-15 years because it is probably going the be the greatest m car of all time
My roommate and I were just talking about it but y'all do reviews as good as old Top Gear. Such quality content, always love to see when a review video drops. Keep up the awesome work!!
For those wondering how the Mach1 compares to Camaro SS 1LE read to the very end. www.motortrend.com/news/ford-mustang-mach-1-shelby-gt350-gt500-test-data/
I have been searching everywhere to finalize my cross shopping of the Mach 1....and thought today was gonna be the big day! Seriously, Ford, this seeds enough info in my noggin to drop it from my list. You are touting it as the best track focused mustang. What was going going to blow up?
Your videos just keep getting better and better. Well done - perfect edits, explaining the tech details about the laps and reasons why things were faster/slower than expected - all while being funny. Keep up the great work!!
i am glad they publicly said Mustang wont let them track the car...so WHACK. So mustang got NO real review and thusly less sales. Just a really bad move by Ford
Woah, i was genuinely not expecting that M2CS lap time. Ive lost interest in modern current BMWs but holy hell i was legit surprised when they said the time. Good job M division, just wish the CS were more available and not marked up through the roof.
I have the Civic hatch sport, and the method to fully turn off traction control is more involved than just holding the button down. Theres a sequence of holding the button and pushing/pulling the ebrake button. I believe the Type Rs are the same. Honda is really reluctant to have TC fully off in their cars and its a bit weird lol.
I have the feeling that the only reason they even included the Mach 1 in this episode was to subtly bash Ford Canada 🤔 Awesome episode, made my day! Love both cars but the M2 CS is an absolute dream car
It's great to see how many subscribers you've added. You guys deserve it. What are the 5 most fun cars you've driven on the street? I'm not interested in track times, although it's great watching you guys on the track.
