Same situation for me I have a 2021 GMC Sierra with just 500 miles on it and I just HATE the auto start feature. Thanks epa and Obama for this stupid law passed in 2019. it’s on all makes & models of suvs and trucks sold in the United States and Canada. Not only is it an extremely annoying feature it’s bad on the engine because when your engine is off at a red light all the oil drops to the pan and everything has to restart and push all the fluids back up into the block. If you hit the gas too quickly not realizing the engine is starting again it shudders and there’s a momentary lag in power, not good. Does nothing for fuel economy but supposedly cuts emissions. Just be careful removing and reinstalling the trim pieces. Take your time and spend 20 dollars on a trim removal kit. Also note this guy has a Silverado center fold down seat which is easier than the trucks with the integrated center counsel. If you have a truck like that (mine) you have a couple of extra side trim pieces and the cup holder to remove before the radio trim pieces in order to gain access to the auto start controls. Modifying this auto start feature is the Best 100 dollars I’ve spent so far on this truck.
I agree, this piece of sh*t feature GM engineers came up with will only damage your engine in the long run . I live in hot S. Texas weather, engine shutters at start up during complete stops or at Wal Mart parking lots (stop & go). I'm a certified mechanic, and a 2020 silverado owner at 60,000 miles truck has noisy lifters at morning start ups and this is not normal. some one should file suit against General Motors Corp.... Other owners have same issues
Range product speaks to ECU and logs it's history on the ECU, this raises potential for voiding warranties. Autostop eliminator doesn't speak to ecu, just memorizes your button preference = no warranty issues. Just installed mine today! Love it, best 100 bucks I've spent on this rig!
@@CaseyFleetMedia have a hold deposit on a 2021 Silverado 2.7 4x4. I get it on the 10th of September. My 1st Chevy and my 1st brand new vehicle. 40k. Coworker got one a few months back. He getting 20mpg in town and vehicle rated for 9300lbs of towing nothing to laugh at
The disable button has to be pressed every time you start it. This makes it to where it doesn’t. I never have to think about it. Also when you have aftermarket system you don’t want to forget and your truck turn off then your 3500 watt amp hit and battery die immediately so that your truck won’t start at a red light. 🤦♂️
@@craigdonaldson6308 when you get in the truck everyday multiple times a day. It’s worth it. Plus it’s easy. If you can’t do it bring it to me I’ll let my 6 year old help you. 😂
