Really nice tutorial ! You’ve lessened the agony and made it much more intuitive to learn about this user interface. Thanks so much for sharing this video.
Outstanding! Just ordered a 2022 trd off road . Haven’t come in yet. I wanted to find as much that my gray matter on soak up on the electronics of the system. You are very thorough and easy to understand. Greatly appreciated.
I traded in a chevy trail boss for a 2022 Tacoma trd off road and while you are listening to music I can barely hear directions or alerts or text messages the Chevy was great it would pause or lower the music audio and the directions or notifications were clear and loud I don’t know if I am missing something on the Tacoma or if it is just how it is but it’s very disappointing
Excellent information all around. This video was so useful. So much better than trying to read the manual to try to figure everything out. Thanks for sharing. Also, new subscriber here :)
Hi great video have a question I have a 2021 Toyota Tacoma trd when I scroll to the gear mine doesn't have the maintenance reset just wondering why I found maintenance in the main screen center dash any idea why thanks
Thanks for the question and the compliment. Toyota allows up to 3 driver settings, and each can customize what they see in the first information screen in the center dash area. My guess is someone selected that option. If you want to reset everything back to factory settings scroll to the gear wheel, then scroll to the bottom, and click on reset to default settings, and then maintenance reset should show up under the gear wheel. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the question. To the best of my knowledge that cannot be done. Perhaps in a future update they will include that feature. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the video very informative. Questions: do I have to have my phone connected with the USB all the time for the navigation to work? And Toyota don't put navigation in all their trucks? Thank you.
Your welcome! Yes you would need to leave your phone connected to use a navigation app from your phone on the screen. Toyota does still include built in navigation however in the case of the 2021 Tacoma, you would need to go with the limited trim level to get it. Here are a couple of ideas that might help you out. If you press and hold the voice command button on the steering wheel until Siri or your google assistant pops up on the screen, you can tell your phone to do whatever you want. For example, tell it to open Pandora and Play and it will. Tell it to open whatever navigation app you have running and it will return to the navigation window, but now Pandora is still playing in the back ground. Need to make a phone call, just use Siri or your google assistant to do it for you, just say Siri, call work (or whomever is in your contact list). Hope this helps and thanks for watching!
I have an Android phone and have been able to plug it into my front usb port where it has always showed me a map as well as any directions I have programmed into the phone. All of a sudden the map will not show anymore and the phone charges much slower. I have ruled out the cable as the problem. What else could it be and how can I get the map back? It's a 2020 Tacoma. Thanks
Thanks for the question. My best guess is that either you updated your phone, or the infotainment system updated. You could try one or all of the following ideas: 1. If you remember updating your phone recently try rolling your phone backwards to the last update prior to this one. 2. Reset the infotainment system to its defaults. 3. Perhaps the usb port itself (not your cable) is faulty- but I doubt it. You could try plugging in a different android phone that has not updated yet (if that’s the issue) and see if everything works normal, using the same cable Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
Thanks for the question. The only thing you could try is to turn off animations via the infotainment screen. Go to settings, general, then scroll down the list till you see animations and turn them off. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
@@TwoGuysandaRide Does this then display the option to add custom pictures? No luck but thank you for trying to help. Just wanted to include a nice photo.
Great job nice video now I know how to shut my screen off and make it go black damn manuals so thick can’t stay concentrated hail to the Mexican Toyota also known as the taco
Just got a 2022 4x4 and the interior including the head unit is unimpressive compared to my 2013. It seems cheaper and there is very little contrast in colors in the interior. Including very little color on the screen.
I have a 2021 toyota tacoma trd. I don't like the navigational voice. It's horrid to me. My in law has an option on her toyota to change the regional language. It speaks with an English accent. Can I do this with mine?
Thanks for the question. There is not a way to change the voice type on the Tacoma that I have found. I have seen it in other Toyotas as well, but not in the Tacoma. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for ur information, i have a question, hopefully you can help I changed my head unit on my tacoma 2019 from entune 2.0 to entune 3.0 everything is working fine except the vehicle icon is grayed out and i cant see the maintenance icon as well. Can it be fixed thanks
You’re welcome! To answer your question, I’ve heard the Generation 4 engine 2.0 is not compatible for an upgrade to Entune 3.0. I’m pretty sure you’ll have generation 4 but you could call your dealer to verify. Remedies: 1. Roll back to Entune 2.0 or wait for an update to 3.0. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
I have a 2023 tacoma sr5 but on apple carplay. When Siri comes in, speaking Siri is very low and the volume of the music doesn't let me hear it and I don't know how to turn up the volume on Siri.
Thanks for the question. You’d have to get an aftermarket adapter that plugs into your usb data port and then you connect your phone to that wirelessly. Be sure to do your research so you know that adapter will work your particular model, year and trim. The vehicle itself only has a wired connection. Thanks for watching!
I traded in a 2021 Chevy Trail Boss for a 2022 Tacoma TRD Off Road I don’t know if I need to change some settings or what’s going on. The Chevy you could hear all alerts and directions through Waze clearly text notifications everything was loud and clear the Tacoma I can barely and sometimes not even hear alerts notifications through carplay and it is driving me crazy any help would be awesome if someone can help out or just tell me I am screwed
Thanks for the question. I’m assuming your volume in the Waze app is turned down. So to adjust the volume of Waze follow these steps From the Menu, select the gear-like "Settings" wheel. Scroll down the Settings menu and select "Sound." Find this icon beneath "Display Settings" and above "Navigation." Adjust the volume. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
The first thing I’d check is if your phone is compatible with the truck. Just google “which phones are compatible with Toyota tundra”. You should get a result that is Toyota. Click on that find your vehicle and check to see if your phones on that list. If it’s not, then that is the issue. If it is on the list then try restarting your phone, and then try pairing it again. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the question first hook your phone via Bluetooth to the vehicle. After you e done that, simply plug your phone cable into the usb in the center concourses area wait a few seconds and apple CarPlay should pop up on your screen. Thanks for watching!
@@TwoGuysandaRide Maybe next year, Also found out the iPhone 14 pro does not work with the wireless charger because the camera sticks out too much and the magnetic charger is then not flat against the phone. hope these changes come next year, ill definitely trade up for that if the new body style for 2024 is what they're saying. Thank for your video, it'll help tons of people.
