2022 Can Am Outlander 1000 XMR Snorkel Install

This install was done in short efforts over about a week. Actual time was relatively short. Fitting, trimming and cutting the instrument cluster plastic took the most time.
In addition to the $105 Snorkel kit
Purchased:
Instrument cluster plastic for $25
1/4” id vinyl tubing need about 3’
5 ea 1/4” male to male connectors
Overall an easy diy project
I watched 5 videos of other people installing snorkel kit on older 850’s that were very helpful

Great install video, I put one myself on my XMR 850. I think there was another template your supposed to use in to cut away some of the plastic so the snorkel does not kink over. I also didn't realize that about the coolant line I extended that one as well I should go back and drop that down to it's original location.

Too bad didn’t come with a red sticker for your snorkel to match the rest of your quad but nice quad👍🏽👌🏾

You keep calling the gauge an ecm it's just a gauge cluster. The part the gauge cluster connects too also has tabs on the inside to just depress and easy pop off

I had this installed on my 2022 outlander xmr 1000r but the intake pipe for the snorkel keeps collapsing when applying throttle and chokes the engine. Dealer said can am has no answers, are u experiencing this issue?

I have not noticed that. But I haven’t sent it full throttle yet. I would imagine that if there were any kinks on the intake pipe it would be biased to collapse. I spent a lot of time making sure it was not bent when the covers were on

@@kurtatv2315 I just took videos of it, I don't see any kinks in the pipe. The pipe just feels too flimsy. As soon as I hit 28mph it starts to choke and won't go over 30mph. I also noticed if I have to give it any throttle to go up a hill it chokes. If I put the stock pipe back on I get over 40 without any issues. I am working with the dealership on a refund

@@kurtatv2315 I figured can am sold it so it would work without issues, guess I was wrong. I will figure out some type of pipe to use in it. Probably flex pvc. I do see the clutch exhaust through is just as low and is not rerouted higher so not sure what this is getting you

You forgot to cut the hole in the new gauge cluster on the LH ( Start Button Side ) the template is in the instructions. If I could figure out how to post the pics of my install I would

Actually I don’t think you don’t really need to cut that hole. It doesn’t hurt to cut it either. It might have made fitting it a little easier but not really required. The cvt exhaust is rerouted back down into the atv there. Two of the videos I watched from the creators I listed did not cut hole. One just cut the existing support leaving a big hole showing (again no real impact). Was there a reason you cut the hole that I overlooked? I can still go back and cut it.

@@kurtatv2315 In the installation instructions it shows you utilizing the C2 & C3 template when utilizing a NEW gauge support. The stock XMR gauge support has holes cut on the LH & RH side. You CAN re-use the stock gauge support… however when installing the snorkel horn the existing hole on the RH side will be exposed. I opted for a new gauge support with no holes. You still need the LH hole cut as nothing is changing on that side. The breather point on the RH side is now being relocated to the center… and will use the C2 template through the gauge support and new breather tube goes through this into the raised horn. You also may need to use the C1 template for the console support. This piece of plastic is exposed after you remove the gauge support. I’m not sure if you used this template or not. Either way…the directions clearly show the LH hole being either recut into your new gauge support OR simply cut the middle C2 hole when using the old Support. I hope this makes sense. Basically your just deleting the RH hole and moving it to the center….. all else stays the same. FYI I have seen others relocate the loose breather tubes as you did and route along the new snorkel breather tube. I left mine alone as I just wanted the look. I’d post photos if I could figure out how.

My 2021 the dealer was looking at my problem for 6 months I had a hard time with them my bike was also the losing antifreeze from day one 3 hose we're leaking through that threads plastic gooseneck from Factory was flipped over and leaking my dealer wouldn't believe me or something they couldn't find it so they say just when the warranty was up I took her to another dealer 8 months in total they put on more km than I did I have 800 I may have went three anyways you want to keep a lookout on your antifreeze seem like every 2 months it would be completely empty it was empty when I brought it from the dealer have a good one
