The 2022 chery tiggo 8 Pro is the most advanced, most luxurious crossover in its price bracket, here in the Philippines. It gets almost every driver assist feature that you can get on a modern vehicle, including adaptive cruise control, automatic steering etc. Its price of 1,640,000 pesos touches the upper limit of the Chinese crossover price bracket. How does it compare to other 7 seater SUVs and crossovers like the Geely Okavango Urban plus, the Toyota Fortuner and the Nissan Terra? A very good comparison Jaywalkur. This is a game changer for the Okavango and definitely worth a test drive. You for got to mention the warranty with the Chery also better than the Geely

True, I forgot to mention the warranty. Chery has 10 years or 1m kms of warranty on the engine, 5 years of general warranty and 3 years of free PMS

Either Geely or Chery, I'm definitely go to this 2 Chinese cars I will buy without hesitant and fear, rather to buy Japanese cars that no improvement in Cabin Materials, Interior Design, Features and Technology. Japanese cars must ashame..

It boils down to this, if you have a family of adults that regularly use the 3rd row, Okavago is the one to get. If you don't use it often, Tiggo 8 is the one to get.

Geely okavango urban plus price now is ₱1,678,000 according to my geely agent with 110k discount if cash. Maybe I'll consider this new chery tiggo 8 pro 1.6T

Simple, Chinese are known to beliefs in marketing "more sales, more income" in bulk are their priority and I guess since we are friends to them, they opt to lower its price and be competitive at this aspect.

Nice review. Some other reviews say 145 KW or 197 Hp. And not 180 Hp as you said. Who is correct? It be nice to compare the Geely Azkarra, cos both high luxury cars. In Cebu no dealer for Chery. Shame. Must go all the way to Talisay. If Chery wants to sell a lot of Tiggo 8 PROs then open a big dealer in Cebu. I hesitate between Ford Territory, Geely Azkarra and Chery Tiggo 8 Pro. Geely has Volvo so that’s a great plus. Please try to do indeep tests like carwow. Also looking forward to see the price of the 2.0 L 255 Hp 4WD version.

test drove earlier, NVH really needs to improve esp vs japanese suvs at the same price point. the toys though are a different story altogether. the tiggo has all the bells and whistles.

how do you find the NVH? We just the Tiggo 8 Pro Max in Malaysia, very tempted to pull the plug but I test it drove for a short period only.. didn’t get much feedback on the nvh :(

About the voice control feature, I'll get back to you on that question. I wasn't able to test it so I'm not sure. The 360 camera isn't that laggy under normal use although as you can see in the video, if you pan too quickly, it tends to lag from time to time. Nothing that seriously affects its usability though

the tiggo 8 pr 1.6 ( this model that I reviewed) Doesn't have voice control. The 2.0 though and the PHEV will have voice control

It's practically the logical choice except for the fact that most people would still hesitate to buy Chinese cars. If I had money to burn I'd try this car though.

Yes it does. If you dont stay stopped for more than 3 seconds it will automatically move forward without intervention. If you stay stopped for more than 3 seconds, youll just have to lightly tap the gas pedal for it to resume

GEELY Okavango Urban Plus - PHP 1.488M CHERY Tiggo 8 Pro - PHP 1.645M I think it is worth the price difference considering it is 1.6-turbo. Looks aspect, the Tiggo 8 Pro is more SUV-looking while the Okavango is like an MPV. The materials used for the interior is better. And the unbeatable ‘Premium Preserv’ of CHERY.

This was honesty a deal breaker for me. If tiggo 8's 3rd row is just as comfy as the okavago, it'll be no contest anymore. However, for families with all adults that's going to be difficult.

Stolen tech and cheap labor; you gotta love them. It kinda makes some Japanese brands look mediocre and overpriced. People really shouldn't buy into all this borrowed, I mean stolen, tech. Can't really blame folks for gravitating towards these more affordable Chinese brands. There shouldn't really be a gray area but the Chinese made it all gray.
