@@EscapeFPs There's a Chevy salesman called Chevy Dude on RU-vid. He did a whole video on some crooks who swiped the wheels off one of their dealer's Silverado redline editions. Those redline wheels are sharp and you don't see many of them. I thought about going with a Camaro myself, however, I ended up with a Mustang GT. I always go with the devil I know. And be sure to get an oil catch can for your new Camaro. Those motors are direct injection and dump all the blow-by crappy oil back into the intakes. I also have a Silverado 5.3 and can't believe the crap my oil catch can collects every month.
Phenomenal review. The Camaro is such a great and functional machine. Too bad that Chevy don't care about it. With the Corvette moved to mid engine layout, they have such an opportunity to release all the Camaro potential. Yet, they decided to put their money in electric and SUVs. That why they will never get my money.
It's not that Chevy doesn't care about the Camaro, it's that they care about making a profit. Camaro simply is selling less and less each year, for the most part. When there is little demand, there is little reason to build the car. Mustang and Dodge are still in demand.
@@ronlheureux7623 you are pointing the true. Coincidentally, the Camaro is better than both, but has 0 promotion or push from the company. There is still a marker for it, a niche segment, but profitable nonetheless. The Challenger hasn't changed in 14 years and the Mustang is not far behind. The Camaro platform is light years ahead of the competition and requires little to no effort or investment at this point to stay on top.
@@ronlheureux7623 Well ofc the Mustang/ charger would be in high demand. Ford has the Shelby line up, Mach 1 variants etc. Dogde has fucking *Hellcats* and the Demon. People get excited and drool over these variants apart from the base models. Chevy did well with the 1LE and I guess LT1 but what people want is a z28 or something. Camaro is quite possibly the *sharpest* coolest modern muscle out of em all but it’s lineup is so boring and lackluster. It’s either a base SS or Zl1….that’s all? Really? Chevy needs to spice it up with new variants like a flat plane crank N/A z28 jeeez that would rock(VARIANTS not appearance packages).
Very impressive ride. To be honest you really can't go wrong with any of the 'Big 3" muscle cars, whether it be the Hemi Challenger or Mustang GT. It's whatever your preference is, and another important factor, how good your dealership is in your area. If you have a bad Ford place, like I do, then go with Chevy or Dodge. It can make a difference in decision making.
Fact is though, the Camaro is the fastest and handles the best. The Challenger has one advantage maybe and its the drag strip but only 392 or Hellcat hold that advantage
From LethalCamaro’s video it sounds like it’s not going anywhere just yet. Supposedly the SS is getting the LT2 while the ZL1 1LE is getting the LT5 put in it.
Just got mine yesterday..2ss 1le.. and I own a dodge truck.. well let me tell you lol holly hell it’s tight … I mean f16 cockpit tight.. it’s a beast tho ..still trying to adjust seat to a comfortable position.. might take a bit of getting used to. And yes visibility is well, let’s say different.. 😬 it’s definitely going to take some getting used to.. but when you start it wow!! Like Firing up the afterburners lol 😎
Just ordered a vivid orange metallic 2022 2ss. Coming from a MB E Class Coupe 2013 E350, this 2'ss has all the safety tech and for me I didn't feel closed in. But OOOOhhhh boy, that 455HP V8 can't be beat for the price. He's right about that beautiful sound of the Jaguar F-Type Coupe. This one got it too. Also, I optioned for the Magnetic ride control. It's a must option too for the Exhaust quad dual mode, no radio required for fake sound.
Owned a 2019 2SS. 10 Speed Auto it was a awesome car on the curves as well as in a Straight away. Once you became used to the Limited visibility I loved it. Sold it because Someone made me a offer I couldn’t refuse. Still regret selling it to this day.
Definitely! Great video! Love the 6th gen Camaro.. sad to see it going away soon :-/ I plan to keep my 21 ZL1 forever... well, until gas becomes banned and I have to join a Mad Max gang or something! Lol.
My first car was a 69 Mustang, but even though I'm naturally biased, the Camaros are far and away better-looking cars than the current incarnation of the Mustang.
I would love to buy this car, I got a 2013 camaro rs, leather interior and all tinted windows with a subwoofer in the trunk and it sounds great! Bought it used at the Chevy dealership with only 60,000 miles on it now its at 111,000 somewhere around there and still runs great. One day I'll buy this bad boy.
Ben: Congratulations! And another great job on the Camaro SS. I believe this is the best "all around" muscle car Chevy still makes (love the new Vette, I want one of those, too). What's not to like? Big V8 SS. 4 pipes. 2 comfortable seats up front. 2 in the back. Great burble sound. LED lights. Unbeatable price. Great color. Only aspect I didn't care for was the black wheels. I would have preferred metallic silver. Thanks for bringing us another vehicle.
@@MWCRUSADER0508 JDP rates it 80/100 for reliability. That's considered average. Studies aside, I have never had an issue with a camaro that can't be traced back to pushing it too hard. Reliability has a lot to do with the car/driver, as well as quality. Sports cars are more likely to be considered unreliable because people push them harder, and in turn, they break more. You can make a reliable car last weeks or an unreliable car last years. Pushing high rpm/speed occasionally is hard on a vehicle. Pushing that consistently because you drive a v8? You do the math🤷🏻♂️
Nice vid bro. You forgot one thing though. It has Launch Mode on it as well. Most people don’t even know this. But If you scroll through the gauges it’s right there.
I've been with Bale Chevrolet here in Little Rock AR for 2 years. Ordered my 2SS today. Shadow grey metallic with the carbon flash wheels lol. All red interior! Can not wait.
Nice Ben,November 27th 2021,Just bought my 2022camaro 2ss,with the 1LE package, in weldcherry Tint coat, and a very sharp looking color, my 2nd camaro, my 1st one was a 2021..2ss in Shadow gray metallic oh, it was an alright color but I sold it, cuz the color I really wanted was the wild cherry tint coat, so there I found one and I bought it my first one costed about 47k, but my second one was an upgrade with the 1LE package, and that one was about 55k, big difference in price.
I have the 2ss in the cherry 🍒 red tint coat and black and white leather seats !! V8 dual exhaust 10 speed automatic- added a little bit xtra to our package ❤. It’s one bad ass car!!!! Ordered it in July and got it in November- and been living it since day 1 !!!!!!!!! The crackle and pops just sound so mean ❤❤ I’m one happy girl!!
I love the camero, I had a 2012 RS white with black convertible top V6. And now I have the 2019 LT1. But 2 years to retirement. I am going go get me a 2SS white convertible for my retirement gift to me. Long live the camero. The sexiest, series, on the road. Itz the only car always get GM back in the race. Look around you and see how many are on the roads.🤴🤴🤴🤴🤴🤴🤴🤴🤴
Can't decide, mustang [wanted one since I was young], charger is great, and the camero is awesome. I do notice the charger is super quiet inside [you dont hear road noise, jsut the engine purr[, the camero though the video i could hear the road, maybe its the crappy tires i know if you get michelline it dampens road noise.
Such a quick and concise review. Appreciate that. You covered all the necessary info in a 10 minute video. Thanks for keeping it short and to the point. Really enjoyed the video!
I had a 2010 2ss in orange with the dual black stripes. 6 speed manual. Frigin loved that thing! Had alot fun with it not one easy mile. Needed new rear tires at 6k miles. Had to get rid of it I was always doing stupid shit with it, figured I'd sell before something happens haha.
If you drive in the city or have a lot of stop/go traffic, don’t get one. Gas will KILL you. If you do a lot of smooth driving/highway then go ahead, I get great gas mileage and a tank lasts me a week. Car is fast, comfortable, spacious (besides the back seats), and a good daily driver if you really are going for it. I have the 1SS with a lot of options but 2SS has the small add ons that I found that I didn’t need, but to each is own.
@@ThePenaboy2 When driving to work and back I go on snow/ice so I can stay in V4 as long as possible. When I’m out with friends or driving around, that’s a different story. Currently on 19mpg, which is better than my friends that have their V4 SUV’s and trucks. Tank lasts a week roughly.
@@_B0NES762 yea no fuck MOPAR. Cheap quality for a car worth the same if not more than a 1SS, or close to a 2SS. Also you get an amazing engine AND don’t have to pay a gas guzzler tax on a camaro, AND it will still beat the scat packs.
I wonder why Chevy puts a snow/ice mode on these cars while only selling them with summer tires where you shouldn't drive in 40 degrees or lower weather?
If you live where it snows and you can afford a 50,000 dollar car you should have a second car to use in the winter what kind of idiot would drive this kind of car in snow if l owned it l wouldn't drive it if it was wet or raining but of course I'm the idiot for keeping it in the garage during bad weather
@@gloriamaletta8667 i can afford two car payments, one SUV for the wife, one camaro for myself. Minnesota it snows, winter wheels work. @@therealjonnyringo l get it your lucky be careful driving it in snow l live in Florida l drive a 2004 Buick LeSabre and a 2009 PPV Tahoe as my daily drivers but l have a 2011 Camaro SS with a new GM LS 6.2 480 horsepower crate engine that has been modified with longtube headers one piece aluminium driveshaft circle D 4200 stall converter and drag radials on racestar wheels to mention a few upgrades it has just over 300 miles since the upgrades and is tuned and runs on e85 it is my baby it doesn't get driven if wet or raining only nice sunny days can't imagine driving it in wet or rain much less snow I'm probably a lot older than you are I'm turning 58 in two weeks do not miss driving in snow but remember doing so when l was younger and lived in Chicago be careful my Camaro friend
It's time for a change. I don't like the back lights at all the front of the car is okay. The visibility is terrible. The speed and the power is fantastic . The seats will not go all the way back which is a pain. I had claustrophobia all the time because the cabin was so small inside. Love the paint job. I've had three Camaros 2012 2014 and 2017. I could not see anything out of those cars even though I enjoyed them. Changed and got a 2020 mustang GT performance package one. And I love it I can see you again. But Ford does not do a good job on paint.
Put 70000 miles on mine-drove across country-drive all year-owned many many fast performance built cars-none like this-not even the Mustang GT’s-owned and drove many-visibility is plenty good -the Mustang not much better-both need the blind spot indicators-unless you are at least 6’ 3-don’t know why seat going back matters-these are drivers and sport performance touring cars and are track worthy-fantastic handling car--performance cars are not supposed to be roomy inside-
@@TimCausleyhorsemanship I didn't say I didn't like the Camaro I enjoyed my 2019 the best. But that 2017 that seat would not go back but so far that was frustrating. But remember they did lose the contract of the chassis. And they had to cram all that in the Cadillac chassis. But both are good cars.
Cheapskate, never pay msrp, tell dealer you want the invoice cost, then work up from there, never start and msrp and work your way backwards. I just saved 3,200 bucks on that.
😣I got a ecoboost for my first car at 19 and upgrading my car soon since I’m already more than half way paying it off , not sure if I wanna go GT or SS please help me choose !!! Every one 😭😭
I’m upgrading from a 2016 VW Jetta😂 and I’m deciding between a 2SS or Mustang GT. I’m stuck between the two or if I should just go a whole different route for a car
@@jakepaucarpura8298 honeslty brotha from the races I’ve been around … The Gt 10 speed is crazy especially with some simple mods you can make some Great power !!! but it all comes down to personal preference either way tho You can’t Never go Wrong with either !!! 😎😎
Gas on E. So they let you go out on E. My 5th gen is so powerful that it acts up if I let the gas get that low. The restart will hesitate then start. Too powerful to not have gas going through especially with the usage it gets.
@@TipToh17 This still looks American. You know Ford changed the front to pass European regulations? The Mustang is sold globally now so it can never look right again.
no doubt the new camaro is a great performance car. But it just doesn't have that same iconic feel it uset to have to me.Just went away from the whole muscle car feel.
Good informative video Ben, question- are you a fan of this design? In one of my videos i was pretty critical on this design, this model is very nice, its the lower end models that look really cheap compared to 5th gen lower model, thoughts on your drive?
Heard for a while that GM was cancelling this good car. You get a lot of tech and performance for the money. The interior is just too dated and seats are flimsy looking. Needs new interior that’s it. Car is perfect. Engine and trans are powerful and reliable. 👍
Watching this video gave me Anxiety, the fuel was super low right on the red line, and you were even doing pulls, I was expecting the Camaro to shut off at any moment.
The current situation appears to be that GM will stop making this generation of Camaro after MY22/23 (ish) and not replace it. I hope this is not true. GM, if you're listening, take a leaf out of Dodge and Ford's playbook and spend a fraction of the cost of developing an all-new platform and just heavily tweak this one to make a Gen 6.5. The general feedback appears to be that the Camaro is still the best of the 3 muscle cars in terms of ultimate driving dynamics and feel etc. FROM FACTORY even as of now. So just update the tech with stuff you have already developed for other more profitable platforms (digital gauge cluster from 22 Tahoe as just one example), refresh the styling inside and out including trying to improve visibility (even by a few percent!) and interior room (e.g. will the C8/C7 Vette seats fit and save/create space because they are thinner - something Jaguar did when they refreshed the F-Type) and then sell it at a competitive price and PROMOTE it even half as much as Ford and Dodge do with their vehicles. Winner.
