I bought the 2020 ST and it’s been great! I have the bright blue with black out package. Best thing I did was get the tire warranty. I highly recommend it if your in construction areas. My husband is 6’4 and he loves it. We downsized from an expedition moving to a city and it wasn’t bad. I use the built in rings in back to clip my dogs in with leashes/D rings for safety. So convenient in that back area.
Bought my wife a 22 star white ST. We've probably had it 3 weeks now, its perfect for our family of 4 and now her truck matches my Oxford white focus st. no problems with the vehicle in terms of functionality. She had an Alfa Stelvio before this one and we both enjoy the ST so much more
@@cg741graf5 16-17 mpg is what my dash tells me. I’m a stay at home dad now and typically don’t drive much anymore, except for their school, which is no more than 1-2 miles from where I live. I also don’t drive in a fuel conserving manner either though
Just ordered a 22 ST. True this vid is lower quality and not professionally done but I LIKE that. Raw footage from someone doing a very good job at explaining everything the vehicle offers. He knew more than my dealer did and nowadays you can't just walk on the lot and check everything out like you could 3 short years ago. $65,000-$67,000 in Canada 🇨🇦 for the 2023 actually I saw a 2023 ST for $73,000 and I was shocked!! my 2021 ST cost me $63,000 since I bought it in 2022 at a year old, still very expensive, but it’s fully loaded and I love it, mine has black ebony trim inside as well, I wish they did the ST logo on the Seats in red like the steering wheel, I got it in white and love it!! I traded in my 2011 ford explorer limited edition for the ST, wasn’t crazy about the big screen at first, but now I’m used to it, but love everything else about this vehicle, did a lot of research before I bought it…. Love driving it and it’s very fast! I don’t like the stop start either and I always turn it off lol 😂 love my massaging seats and the seats are so comfortable for me due to my back injury it makes driving this vehicle much better on my back and that’s what I was looking for as my 2011 explorer the seats were comfortable but these seats on the ST are way more comfortable on my back!!! Amazing vehicle!! Got stuck in a bad snow storm in Canada and this vehicle took me up the hill no problem, while other vehicles and trucks were pulled over to the side of the road, I just plowed on by up a steep hill in the pitch black as you couldn’t see anything in front of you lol
I'm from Finland. Got my Ford Explorer Platinum (fully equipped) back in December 2021 (did 20000 km = 12500 miles). In Finland, we have only one option: a 3.0 L V6 bi-turbo EcoBoost PHEV, a combined total of 450 HP. 13,7 kWh battery. Combined consumption is 6L/100km (equals 40 mpg) during 2022. Pure electric ride: summer = 46 km (or 28,5 miles), winter = 26 km (or 16 miles). What I do like: tranquil ride, amazing offroad capabilities, substantial towing capacity, spacious, super fast, charming design, and lovely autopilot. What I don't like: B&O sound system could be better (I came from Volvo S90 Bowers & Wilkins world), the interior air filter allows little dust and smell, and full LED headlights are blurry (we do not have adaptive lights, only reflective LED lights), FordPass app is limited, no Webasto (autonomous petrol heater), the 360-degree camera sucks, leather quality is poor. The overall satisfaction level is 90%, which is excellent! Would I recommend it? Absolutely! Thanks for the review, it is the best review so far!

I take delivery on my Stone Blue/Ebony (fully loaded) ST in 4 weeks… I cannot wait for this sleeper beast to land! And, to enhance its fun, I ordered a Pedal Commander to eliminate throttle lag!
I bought a 22 ST in RED, Not the color I wanted but car shopping is crazy if you NEED a vehicle right now. The vehicle has every box checked in terms of features, but I am bummed about some of the things it lost from its 2020 debut. I own a 2020 XLT also and some of the things they cut to make it cheaper year over year are very apparent when you go from one to the other. All in All, I am very happy with my purchase, both purchases if I am honest, I love the sportiness for the ST, but because they're all similar it's how it throws you back in your seat is just, well, it's what you pay for.

I own a 2021 Explorer ST fully loaded minus the smokers package- as a former 2018 10r80 supercharged FBO GT owner, I can say it pulls hard for stock. Definitely a good base for power- especially with the rwd platform and awd launches.. I disagree with the small camera screen thing- when your are sitting there in the cockpit- its not necessary to have tv screen camera… its plenty big for what its worth. Mods are a pain to do with all the clips and bolts you need to undo/ keep track of. I wish there were some ROUSH or Ford upgrade/ tuning/ high performance package options from the rip that maintains the warranty with magnaride suspension…. Maybe save it for a Explorer RS down the road??- a guy can dream cant he??!!- i am sure people would buy it. Plus, they do things like that for the f-150 and Ranger… Not a fan of the whole after market test and tune deals being offered- everything has a pro and a con. Lastly, i wish there was the option to change seat memory while in motion ( low speeds of course)… same for camera view button , larger wireless charging area ( iphones with cases are a pain to charge). Just my two cents..
I don't know why so many people are hung up on the back up camera screen size. For the all of 3 seconds you're backing up it works great. Why does everyone need a 65" screen? What did you do before back up cams?
I don't need a massive screen, but if I have a big screen, I want to use it all for my camera system.. I don't have a back up camera on my daily and I'm okay. I see your point though
@@703SpeedI get it too. The screen isn't utilized properly. It's just that everyone reviewing these vehicles seem to lose their minds over this. I like most hope there will be a software update that will make it better. Very good review though.

Just preordered my 2023 explorer ST in black!! High performance package, and moon roof (panoramic) premium technology package. I was told SYNC 4 would be on the 23’ explorers. Fingers crossed.
The exhaust tips are like that because the exhaust will be moved away from the rear of the car better than if they were to come straight out. This is also due to carbon monoxide intrusion concerns that plagued the previous generation Explorer. It was part of the recall on the older PIUs to cut off the straight tail pipes and weld on new turndowns. This is their way of disguising turndowns.
Any info on the longer term reliability of the ST? I’ve read some horror stories regarding transmission, water pump and fit and finish on ‘20-21 models. Have these issues been resolved? I love what the ST is bringing, but I need an 8-10 year vehicle. Otherwise I’m looking at Acura or KIA options.
Honestly I am not sure.. I'd suggest reading through the Explorer ST forums and see what they are saying.. Acura is always a great choice for reliability
I'm a couple months into a '22 with no regrets. First time Ford owner and quite comfortable with the purchase. Police services have been using these consistently for years. They are number 1 selling truck manufacturer for a reason. I think I made a solid choice. Only buy what you are comfortable with.. maybe you should take it out for a test drive?!
I have the 2020 ST, it's been a nightmare with electrical problems. We absolutely love the car so we've been torn up about it. When all is functioning correctly it is a fantastic car, great mileage, we feel safe in it, comfortable, and LOTS of power. The main issue is when you take it in for repairs the problem(s) has(have) been so intermittent that the dealer can never duplicate it and therefore does nothing. Very frustrating! Cross your fingers and hope that the 2022 has fixed those issues.

@@703Speed my trans went out at maybe 20,000 miles. My headlights went out my door switches weren’t working correctly miscellaneous things. was in the shop for two months for the transmission. They finally replaced it.

Test drove one because we had a Edge ST and was hoping the explorer ST would be a huge difference and it wasn't. It has more HP but is heavier so it really balance out close to the same. Vertical Screen looks like they just mounted a iPad to the dash and when in reverse on the 2021 your backup camera didn't use the full screen just a small window which makes no sense (smh) they should have looked at the dodge ram truck to see how their screen is blended into the dash. Performance is just okay it won't outrun any performance SUV from Dodge for sure which it could if Ford would would bump the HP to 450ish and 485ish TQ. Of course you can get it tuned by a few different shops like Palm Beach Dyno but sadly have a transmission issue or engine Issue and good luck getting it fixed under warranty if the tech scans to see a computer change. (Been There done that) The sound is 100% pumped in just like the Edge ST.. I turned it off on the Edge ST because after a while it is annoying. Anyone want to do the same google Forscan and purchase the OBD connector from amazon and in a matter of seconds you can turn that off. Would like you to review a RWD explorer ST and not the AWD version just to see if the extra weight lost makes any difference in performance? Your review was good, you covered everything well I will come back to see what you drive next. The vertical iPad is probably good for the mechanic. These explorers have tons of screen and software and component related problems with the screen. Got some bin sale modules maybe.
Yeah.. Not the biggest fan of the vertically mounted screen, as I think they could've designed it better like in the Rams.. Thank you, I appreciate that! I will definitely try and see if I can get a RWD ST to review.. Might be difficult though because in northern VA, most dealerships order them with AWD. The Edge ST is faster around the same auto cross course as the Explorer ST. I won with the faster Explorer time at the ST SUV Experience but the edges were 1-2 sec faster.
