It takes up the whole screen and has little lines that predict where the truck is gonna go. On mine even at night I can pull back into my barely double wide driveway with my other car there easily. Quality is very good
Hey Johnny, just a fyi. I ordered me a Hybrid Lariat Oct. 2nd and got cold feet on the color Velocity Blue Metallic called the dealer and they told me I can change to color to Black, no problem. So it looks like if anyone wants to change some things up, just call your dealer and you may still have time. Also I imagen there are a lot of folks like me that will be waiting a long time before our orders comes in, so we really appreciate the fact that you and others are out here giving us our Maverick fix while waiting.
My dealer told me that I could make changes to my order until it begins to be built. I ordered a hybrid XLT with Lux package on 09/28. I do really appreciate this content as well since I've test driven an Ecoboost XLT lux Maverick and I do like the way it drives.
After you get a VIN number is when I was told you couldn’t make any changes BUT this is all new to all of our dealers so that’s what I was told. I think those of us who are on the Maverick Club and watch Johny and Long MacArthur probably know more then our dealers do;) Good luck with your build!!!
Generally that is true. Near the end of a model year though it is more likely they freeze the build once the order is assigned a VIN but before the end of a model year yes you can make changes very close to build date. Thanks for the help Sam and Matt
Thank you LOU. Dealers are in mostly uncharted territory these days so it's turn and learn. They are learning new things every week with this new way to do business. It's no longer... let's check what is in the yard
Will definitely rewatch this when my Wife’s Maverick comes, great job as always. Also, I’m in Maine, you’re in Canada soooooo we’ll BOTH be driving them during our long winter months (well that is whenever hers finally comes in) the build date is supposedly the 1st week of November)

Johny, I did see on another channel that the visor mirror is illuminated on the Lariat. Not sure if it was the lux package, which is what I have ordered.

My 2020 Ford escape had a picture of my car (a stylized version from the top view) pop up on the car’s monitor, with a polygon behind the car, while I was driving down the road. Again, the view of the SUV/car was from the top. I have no idea what that means. It’s not in the car’s manual. Do you know?
Yes you need to download Ford pass on to your phone create an account and then add your serial number or Vin to Ford pass. Then you need to press the activate vehicle button while your vehicle is running. The vehicle in your phone and forward pass while communicate together eat together and once correctly correctly connected you can then lock unlock and remotely start your vehicle from your phone. This has much better distance than a remote starter as you can literally be in another country and start your Vehicle

I don't have a lux package in at the moment but solid idea. Know the drivers seat is electric but the XLT Fx4 is mla manuel seat so it's height is 1 position. I'll try and measure it if it's not already delivered
By the way, all that plastic scratches easily in my experience, so wear rubber shoes and cut your nails…no metal objects or metal belt buckles, hangers from dry cleaning, suitcases, structured purses, etc. around these plastic interiors.
Johnny, have you seen any of the Fb and forum posts from users who can't get the radio tuning controls to work on their XL or XLT touchscreens? Did you run into that at all and do you have any troubleshooting tips for those users? They posted videos where they are touching the screen and the physical buttons but the radio is not responding.
No issues found on the first 3 Mavericks or even the marketing test mule Mavericks. HOWEVER, My Bronco screen now has 2x been slow to answer and I've seen it once on a Mach E. Solution is either wait a moment or restart car. So far has always worked for me. Always refer to owners manuel fordt to ensure it is hunky dory, but when deemed safe I believe unplugging the battery resets things as well.
Thanks Johnny! Love your channel. Ordered a Lariat Hybrid in mid September. No word on anything yet except from you. I was wondering what are the controls for below the touch screen? Looks like for a radio? Would you be able to hook up a CD player somehow (old school)? Also, what is recommended for cleaning and protecting interior surfaces ie dash, seats, doors etc? I’d really be interested if you cold address these issues. Watched all your videos so I don’t think I saw this covered.
Below the screen is volume and tune. The even bigger circular buttons below that are fan speed and temperature. As for hooking up a cd player someone must make an adapter to go from cd player to USB. I have personally had them plug into the 12 volt but that was years ago trying to get a cd player to run on a tape player car. It worked but bumps would cause the CD to skip
@@Johnnyscarcarereviews Couldn’t you connect your phone through android/apple car play and play some royalty free music? That way you don’t have to worry about any copyright issues and you can find royalty free music on RU-vid.
I also have the same request about the sound quality. you could connect your (other) phone on youtube and play a non copyrighted song. there are plenty. good luck with your channel
Great question Craig. We can on the Lariat lux pack as it has sync 3. Otherwise all models will have voice control via your phone as the Maverick is BOTH android auto and Apple carplay compatible
Great video! One question, Can I use my I-phone 12, hot spot to give wifi data to the Sync 3 when I'm in the vehicle. In Ontario, I have a great data plan with Rogers, but the Ford Sync 3 requires hookup with Bell Mobility. Thanks Ken
Tune know and when you.find your channel hit the Audio button at bottom left if not already in Audio section. Then there are rectangles near the bottom that you hold down for 5 seconds. The rectangle you hold down will now be replaced by the current radio station you are on. Later to toggle between favorites their is a button on the front, right side of the steering wheel
On my wife's 17 fiesta, in order for Bluetooth to connect, you have to push a button and say "Bluetooth audio" every time you get in the car. If you want to hear pandora or phone calls or youtube if you are sitting in a parking lot waiting for someone... Is this system like that or does it auto connect once it's set up every time you get in and start the truck?
You need to plug it in everything. Unless you get a wireless add on which your phone then connects to that piece of tech that is plugged in. For the button well hit it and Android should already be connected if Bluetooth is on for your phone
Hi Johnny thanks for the info - quick clarification point if you may. Because I ordered the XLT, mine won't come with satellite radio standard and the local Best Buy car audio guys said they won't have parts/training on how to work on the Maverick for at least 6-9 months after the car is released. This essentially means I'd have to stream satellite radio through the app on my phone then, right? Meaning I'd have to manually change the channels through my phone, not the screen. Thanks ahead for your help in clarifying this.
Wow awesome question. Test the phone and if Google assistance or SIRI can change the channel verbally then you are in business. Now I'll try and hook up soon my own phone to the white Maverick to see which apps work. I think Amazon music app opened on your phone will then take verbal commands and if so then we should be able to verbally command through truck verbalcontrols the amazon music.
When I turn the car on with the app it turn the front glass fan but doesn't show the temperature on the AC or anything how can I setup to turn on and be hot or cold .
Hi Johnny, I have the Lariat hybrid with the Lux package I don’t think I have the radio icon under the settings. I was wondering if there is more than 2 pages of presets that can be added.
The system only always as many as you can swipe. So if it's 2 then ots 2. Mustsng gt premium its 3. There is no consistency between models. It hurts my brain
Quick question I saw you can control volume from steering wheel can you change stations (radio) as well? Or do you have to use the touch screen for ch surfing. Thanks!!
I cant remember and don't have one on hand. I'm pretty sure we can change radio stations, not satelkite as most models don't have it, but I can not ohysocally verify at this time
My XLT build and price covers all that and a bag of chips. I even provide images for proof. SecuriCode is is standard on XLT so you have it even without lux pack

No it's 2021 so it's expected we have a smart phone that will project the navigation to the vehicle. Whether or not this assumption makes sense needs to be balanced with the fact that when inflation is taken into account this is less than a Ranger was in the 90s and some calculate less than a Model T.
Since when do economy vehicles have navigation in 2001? GPS didn’t really take hold until like 2007. Plus the vast majority of people with onboard navigation still use their phones instead, good call by Ford honestly to help keep cost down and save a few of those precious chips lol
It's good you know what you like. Different strokes strokes different folks. For me it's about look, comfort and drive quality so plastic does not bother me if it looks decent.

Yeah, but then again with most everyone using Android auto or car play, what does it matter? It just needs to be basic and functional and the smartphone software will do everything else.
