In 2022, the world population crossed 8 billion people - and we felt the scale of this monumental milestone in hundreds of ways. After over two years of lockdowns and quarantines, people eagerly restarted their lives, but there were certainly growing pains. Weddings and travel skyrocketed, but so did lost luggage and global inflation rates. Taylor Swift broke Ticketmaster. Cryptocurrency was headed toward a great year until it really, really wasn’t. 2022 tested the world population as we tested out life in a new phase of the pandemic.
Russia invaded Ukraine, and aid relief flooded into the war-torn country. Refugees were welcomed into surrounding countries, and those who stayed behind inspired people around the world. Global protests cried out for justice in Iran. Football teams stood up for migrant workers and the LGBTQ+ community at the World Cup. Cuba legalized same-sex marriage. The world froze for a moment when England’s longest-reigning monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, died. And we all watched a lot of TikTok.
As we head into 2023, take a moment to look back at the events that defined this year.

2022 was full of pain, sadness, happiness but most of all memories. Whether they were good or bad, we made it through and I am so beyond proud of everyone. I guess 2022 has been laterally the worst year of my not so long life. The war in my homeland had erased all of my plans and dreams. But now I appreciate simpler things more then ever. What is really weird is that I had so many positive moments this year. I still cannot understand how is this possible. As many people wrote here - 2022 was such a rollercoaster. Unbelievable. The political divide between Global North and Global South had already begun to emerge once again in 2021 with vaccine distribution but 2022 saw the division become even more stark as a result of the Ukraine War. "Multipolar world" and "dedollarisation" may be words we hear a lot in 2023, especially with what's going on in the East (China, India, Russia).

It is indeed well made and I appreciate your efforts, but I've regretted watching every second of it because I am sorry for what the world has been going through for the past years.... It is very sad and so depressing ... Let's just hope for the best and keep looking forward to those little happy moments that happen in our lives and hold onto them because that's what will keep us moving forward ..

Ukraine got too much coverage just because it's a white European nation. There are others non white countries too invaded and massacred by the US and the west in the past few decades,but they never got as much attention mainly because the ones invading them was not Russia but Westerner themselves. Ukraine got so much attention due to it being a European nation invaded by the enemy of the US and west. America controls most of the major media houses hence they made Russia to be the villain while they themselves are doing invasion since decades
