This is the new Kawasaki 2022 KLR 650 that I bought brand new. At the start of this channel I had just broken over the first 100 miles on this bike, so you are seeing everything on this channel is new to me and new to the bike. In this video I am showing you how the bike handles at Highway speed and how comfortable it is going over 55 MPH.

Another great video. I've been freeway commuting on my KLR for years now. Here in SoCal, splitting lanes keeps my sanity. I hate traffic, so the KLR is my preferred method of transportation. The 50ish MPG is a great bonus as well. I went up to a 16 tooth front sprocket to help keep the RMP down at freeway speed.

Cool. I’ve had no issues riding my KLR650 on long highways trips myself. Also, the 2022 KRL650 WILL go well over 80 on the highway. I was surprised myself, but it was able to sustain 98mph on my last road trip in Florida.

Adding a little of that Lucas full synthetic oil stabilizer would help the motor or even the stp.

Just a idea for your,you might want too invest in a modular helmet for commutting around town.And they also work well off road too.Their alot more versatile.

Thanks for sharing ... how hard to maintain 65mph on a nice incline (20 to 30 degree) lasting about 1500 yards ... I have a road that goes through some back valleys for 2 -4 miles and there are some inclines ...

My KLR will do 85 all day, in Wyoming winds, smoothly. I ain’t lookin for a mobile couch, anyhow. Still, I ride it mostly on dirt, with a few canyons in between. I’ll ride it up to Sturgis comfortably and ride the DAKAL less comfortably, but just fine. I’ll mostly be standing up.

I always thought break in oil was sort of less slick to a point, to facilitate ring break in. That's why you got to get it changed out after 1k, then put slick stuff in??

Nice jacket. Is it warm enough in cool temps? Are you concerned about the doo hickie issue inside the motor on these bikes? Good video, ride safe.

Ok, so I have the same bike,simikar helmet but hate the goggles I recieved on amazon as they are too big. What type of goggles are you rocking in this video👍

What's the vibration level on the highway? I've heard lots of complaints about KLR being buzzy.

In some areas of Texas where I live, the highway speed limit is 85 MPH. It’s very common for traffic to run 90-95 mph in those areas. That’s too much for the 650.
