I got my grubby fingerprints all over the 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS' massive 56-inch Hyperscreen infotainment. Watch me check out the Zero Layer interface, the surprisingly useful passenger display and play a little Tetris, too.

The replacement cost for that must be insane, if it can even be replaced

It’s a Mercedes it’s for people who are willing to spend big money on technology and luxury,don’t expect Toyota Corolla maintenance costs on this thing

@@joskjj3625 Except cars don't stay new. Most people buy used cars that are, or almost are, out of warranty and have to worry about it. And Mercedes is at best average in reliability.

Buttons and dials are far safer than these touch screens
@theflyingkaramazovbrothers6
@theflyingkaramazovbrothers6 2 года назад
@@zoyaspencer8025 nonsense, it's easy to turn a dial or press a button for climate or radio. A touch screen will never have that intuitive don't-need-to-look feel because it's a flat screen. It's sort of like T9 texting vs today. You could text and never take your eyes off the road back then. Now there's no possible way. That right there is how to illustrate difference between tactile feel and the fully digitized era.
@sonatine3266

It has full voice control... that's much safer than buttons. Also: While driving there are limited options and touch buttons are the same as mechanical buttons you genius.

An excellent narrative 👏👌👍😀on the hyper screen you were very positive about its user ability

I must be the only one who thinks this car is pretty cool, then again i already drive an EV.

I think there needs to be a better compromise between buttons and dials and the touch screens. I also think that more thought needs to be put into repair/replacement of these touch screens, and less focus on them being "seamlessly" inside of the dashboard. I love the technology and I want to see them continue to innovate with it, but not at the expense of realistic maintenance and functionality. (Edit: I posted this before watching the video based on the image of the display.)

Any plans to add video streaming apps on the center and passenger screens??

I truly think the hyperscreen is a show stopper! However, I noticed on the EQS configurator there are some interesting dash alternatives such as a Backlit Laser-cut Star Pattern and a Anthracite 3D Relief-optic. Has anyone seen these in the flesh?

I need to see the laser cut star pattern, definitely looks interesting online

While the passenger screen is cool. What benefit does it give over just using the center screen?
@Carfan678
@Carfan678 2 года назад
Watch a movie, fiddle with the navigation or music without interrupting the main screen. So say the driver has navigation on the big screen and wants you to play music

I would say just having a separate ipad is much better. And cheaper.

With such a large surface area the screen will be susceptible to cracks and scratches over time.

I would hate for the screens to go out

I like the idea of the passenger screen, but they missed a simple step that would’ve unified the screens. The ability to “flick” an item from one screen to the other. This would make their whole “this is one giant screen even though everyone knows it is not” thing a lot more believable

Exterior looks like a Honda Civic. The screen could be cool, but separate displays under the glass are disappointing. Like those downview desks with glass tops and CRT screens mounted underneath.

Technologically totalled from day one.

The only hard angles on or in that vehicle are the corners of the the three screens and they’re jarringly hideous. The bottom cut corners of the central display are particularly awful. How difficult would it have been to mask the corners with rounded and curved edges? Unbelievable.

Between these screens and people's cell phone...nobody is watching the road while driving.

I was about to post something similar add to that the ambient lighting as another possible distraction. I love new tech but this seems excessive.

The truth is for most of us aslojg as we can skip forward and back with the steering wheel these screens are a non issue. I have a 50 mile one way commute. Most screen interaction is media controls and majority of that can be done via steering wheel. I don't see a problem.

Hello to the Antuan twins 😂 Nice video, nice car. I'm not sure what to think of the EQS: too much technology, and odd-looking. But if Mercedes Benz offered one to me, to drive for a year, I would happily accept it.

I mean the onepice glass all over the dash is pritty but: -Segmented screens with big black uneven spaces in between is ugly -Some Actual button and knobs for basic stuff can be beautifull and better -What, only tetris?? can we pair an Xbox or PS5 controller?? -Why is the system so sluggish for a high end car?

Don't like to fingerprint scan. In Florida the car gets hot in the sun and guess what else gets hot! The fingerprint scanner. Can't figure out how to not use this so called feature.
