I got this new LGA1700 motherboard couple days ago and ran into this problem when updating new BIOS. Hopefully this quick video can help you save some time. cheers!
DUDE! I spent literally hours looking for a fix to this issue. I CANNOT THANK YOU ENOUGH! Worked first go-round. I was puzzled and at my wits end with this new computer. Getting a 13th gen CPU tomorrow and this worked for my MSI B660 Tomahawk Wifi DDR4. THANK YOU!!!!!!
I dont think I've ever left a comment on a youtube video but i have to thank you for this video. Been wrecking my brain for hours feel like a moron but glad its something tiny.
I had the same problem but this didn’t help, I had to put “cec” after and got another file if you still have problems do windows+r, msinfo32 and u can find motherboard full name
The important part of this video is that the BIOS was NOT found. I had to look for X299 Creator BIOS , vs X299 Creation (or vs ion). Going through the MSI website product page did not show the 'Creator' BIOS. And to make it even more fun, my MSI motherboard has the word 'Creation' stamped on it. idk what they're doing over there.
I applied the update and now my motherboard sees my SSD as not supported, and wont allow me to boot it, any way to roll back a bios update? cant do anything but mess around in the bios now
Lol, almost didn’t buy another MSI moon because quite a few reviews were whining about not being able to flash bios…. Glad I watched this video. You would think “type the full model name” would be a given……
In my case, the issue was that msinfo32 (aka windows System Information) was showing me the incorrect motherboard model. I checked for the motherboard model in BIOS and it was different. Everything worked just fine after that
this didnt work for me i have the msi mpg b550 gaming plus (ms-7c56) and when i go into bios the file is not there. idk if it is bc my bios version is too old. the bios version i have rn is E7C56AKB.1K3
