I didn't know Ford offers a Ford Performance tune on the Ranger, is this done at the dealership/service department or an option from the factory? Do you know if they offer a tune for the F150s? Sounds like you have a great truck, congratulations!!!

@@davidcmatson The Ford Performance Tune can be bought at the dealership or online at many different sites including Amazon. I paid $650 for the tune and it's well worth it to say the least! ANY ASE mechanic can install it or the dealer and it's covered by Ford along with their powertrain warranty for 3 years or 36,000.......it really makes the Ranger super quick (for a midsize truck) and shifts more aggressively.......as close to a Ranger Raptor as you can get (for now)......not sure what other tunes are available for Ford trucks.....

@@billpriebe7996 Thanks Bill, I've been considering a Ranger purchase for a while and with the information you provided about the Ford Performance tune (especially being covered under warranty) I think I've made up my mind. Would love to get a Ranger Raptor but I'm not sure if they will ever produce enough of them to make it feasible for me to wait (and then there's the added dealer mark-ups $$$). @@davidcmatson I used to be a huge Taco fan and I have previous have had many, many Tacos......I think I counted 12 different Taco's before.....I love the 1gen because they are small but bulletproof.....I should have kept my 2004 double cab TRD OR....oh well......I bought a 2015 TRD OR new and loved that as well and stupid me traded it for a 2017 TRD OR......that was OK except the funky engine/tranny combo felt powerless....I also had a 2015 TRD PRO double cab in the Inferno Orange color.....cool truck and the 4.0L motor was great........but it kept going through brakes every 6 months......so I traded that for the 2019 Taco TRD OR......you think I would have remembered the "lazy" 3.5L engine/tranny combo.....worse truck engine EVER!!.........then back to a 2012 TRD Sport......and now the 2021 Ford Ranger Lariat Tremor.....I guess I get "bored" with trucks and want something "new & exciting"!...I can honestly say that the Ranger Tremor is by far the best truck I've ever had!....I did do a 1" level/lift to the front and added a folding bed cover and had the bed spray lined......this truck is super peppy and fun to drive!....IMO it blows the Taco out of the water!!.....I did pay $1k over MSRP but it was on the lot and after test driving it I knew I had to have it!......The lariat is super nice with the most comfortable seats and a kick a$$ B&O stereo........with the Ford Performance tune I can have fun and still know it's backed by Ford!......I'll say it again, this is the closest thing to a Ranger Raptor you can get!......and for the average guy like me I don't need a Ranger Raptor nor will I pay thousands over msrp!!.....if I could ever even find one cuz they will be bought it by collectors and "friends of dealers".......you can check out all my mods with links to where to find them here....as shows a handful of pics of my Ranger Tremor..... www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/loving-my-new-lariat-tremor-modding-it-up-already.16842/

They're fast asf, the bonus about the these turbos is that you can also tune them to push close to 400 hp for under 1k. Ford Performance tunes will only 50 HP for 1,200$. They're extremely versatile engines, don't get the sluggish v6 feel.
