2023 BMW M340i review - Bang for your buck | First Drive | Autocar India 

Nothing quite like the legendary B58. The M340i will make a very appealing preworshipped car. Most would want to save money and get themselves a regular 3.

Bang for your buck. They make it sound like a budget car.

I find it interesting that you’ll barely mention any negatives of the car. Do you truly believe the infotainment is intuitive to use, with everything now shoved into menus and sub-menus in lieu of buttons that could be hard-coded to your preferred functions? Do you truly believe it sounds “insane” when sound is pumped into the cabin via speakers? The stock exhaust on this LCI is more muted than a church-goer on Sunday. If this is insane, the earliest versions of the car (circa 2020) surely count as orgasmic. I’m also not certain that the ground clearance number quoted is correct. I’ve taken it for long drives over horrible roads in Bombay, and it’s not scraped once anywhere over mountainous speed breakers, with 3-4 people aboard. That was a pleasant surprise. I’m all for effusive praise where praise is due, but please don’t suspend objectivity in the face of enthusiasm. Bring both sides of the coin to the fore.

That iDrive 8 Speed Alert Gong for 80 and 120 Kmph is so much better! Someone at BMW please give that update to iDrive 7 owners! The gongs in iDrive 7 is terrorism!!

The B58 motor is a tried and trusted platform in the UK. The smoothness is impressive, If it was a V6 it would be even better but they got it perfectly with straight 6

I own a g30 530d,recently took a test drive in the m340i...apart from the exhaust sound i din't feel as a worthy upgrade.
