Great video. Wish I could have afforded the V6, but my pocket book kept me with the 2.0T which power I will describe as adequate for a daily driver. I can confirm, the comfort and ride quality of this car is fabulous.
Thank you! Yeah, the 2.0T gets the job done, certainly. I drove it in the CT6 a few years ago and felt similarly. And, definitely, the comfort and ride quality is top notch.
I came to the dealer and test drove the base ct5 today, i was surprised that the 2.0T pick up and move so well, and it sounds refined too. How do you like it?
@@CKPHH it’s the best car I’ve ever owned. The 2.0 is plenty power for me. I love crusin past BMWs and Mercs on the Highway and watch em look over at the Caddy Floating past lol
@@viewsonvehicles Thanks for the link, and again thanks for your review. Are you willing to ponder whether you think this CT5-V or the BMW 3 or 5 series I6 cars will be more reliable? I haven't heard much good regarding reliability for either brand in recent years. I just know I prefer the CT5-V appearance-wise. Also, do you know of any reputable ECU tuners for either brand? It would be nice to get this Caddy into the mid 12's 🙂
@@jsfbay1 Oof, man, reliability is a hard one. I really love the way the CT5 drives and looks, but drove it with only a few thousand miles on it. I have never personally owned a Cadillac, but owned several German cars now, BMW and Audi, and found them reasonably reliable, but expensive when they brake. I'd like to think parts on the Cadillac would cost less. But I do not have any data to back that up.
Thank you for this video!! I was about to order the ct5-v, but unfortunately had to down grade to the premium luxury v6 and was super worried about the performance reduction. But thanks to the detail you went in comparing the two and how fun you still had driving the premium luxury, I’m not worried at all! Hardly a difference. Thank you so much!
I'm really happy that I helped! I quite liked the CT5, I hope you enjoy yours. And please feel free to report back with an owners perspective, once you take delivery.
I still favor the Cadillac CTS comparable to the CT5 because the cheaper interior materials the CT5 has while the CTS interior material was more premium with the usage of real metal and leather on higher trims than the cheaper plastic the CT5 offers.
Thank you… I’m considering a 2024 ct5 sport to replace my Lincoln Corsair GT. A PHEV in central Texas works but not fun… my other car is a 2004 Corvette… oh by the way I’m 80 yo…
I think it's all these media car reviewers that are ruining cars. Your average ordinary car buyer doesn't give 3 craps about 0-60 times. It's made the auto manufacturers making cars for reviews instead of buyers.
Thank you for making us reviewers aware that we are the problem. And I'll be sure to let all the auto manufacturers know this asap. By the way did you only watch the acceleration test portion of my video?
Why anyone would give up a 400hp CT6 to buy this is beyond me, so I didn't. Instead of hanging in and improving the big sedan, which is still sold in China of all places, we get this, which is totally underwhelming.
Just like Sean said below I too purchased the 2023 CT5 Premium Luxury with the turbo charged 4 cylinder. I really wanted the 6 cylinder but was talked of it because the dealer told me that GM was considering not using the 6 on the CT5 and I may not receive my ordered car that took three months from order to delivery. I’m not totally unhappy about the 4 cylinder but feel stupid for not ordering the 6 after viewing your video. What Say You?! By the way did you test drive the 4 cylinder? Rich
That's frustrating, I do not know why the dealer would say that. I did test drive the 2.0-liter, but years ago when it was first introduced in the CT6, back when Cadillac still built the CT6. I found it a perfectly fine engine. I did recently drive another 4-cyl in a Cadillac, the 2.7-liter in the CT4: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0I4BvaAm43c.html
@@chrisdettanascar9264 yeah, its not that aggressive as the other 4 turbo,i got 3 people in the car but pick up and go very effortless, early torque specially with the 10 spds trans. I didn’t feel like i need for power. I had a Q60 3.0TT before. This car looks big feel small, and agile. My civic average 29mpg this 27 . I’d love the v6 but my commute is mostly around town so 2.0t is my choice.
@@CKPHH ya my 2014 2,0t gets 21 in the city, love to go to the 3,0t but the way gas is theses days, I guess iam going your way lol 2.0t , seen a new one on the car lot it had a big fat wing on the back, looks good !
@@chrisdettanascar9264 my man, i want what i want but Gas price is a dam factor. Plus that 2.0T will satisfy my daily commute. As you been driving a Caddilac, what are your experiences?

Cadillac in the 1950s and early 60s was larger, had a ride that felt like you were floating on air which meant much less fatigue on long drives, was a head turner, and had plenty of power. Now when you see one on the road, it and many other luxury vehicles are indistinguishable from other cars. They look like every other car and are less dependable than most foreign brands. I’m sorry to see this happening!
