Chery Auto Philippines has grown tremendously in such a short span of time. With a broad range of crossover SUVs on sale already, the Chinese automaker has resonated pretty well with Filipino car buyers. That’s also helped by the fact that the company has recently hired the freshest and likewise, the most experienced industry veterans to run the company. Therefore, it’s now trying to tap a more upmarket audience with this, the 2023 Chery Tiggo 8 Pro. Have they succeeded? Let’s find out.

Owned the 2.0T AWD for more than 7mos now and nothing but praises.. powerful, luxurious, comfortable. Went for this variant over the CX8 AWD (dated, less powerful, no chance for Phils to get the turbo version) and the 4x4 Everest (pissed off due to long wait). 7 speed wet type DCT (Getrag), 250hp, 390Nm of torque, full blown ADAS wt the longest warranty in the business and below 2M, I'd say it's bang for the buck.

I have the 1.6 spec and I'm happy with it. I think at 1.7m no other brand in this segment can beat in terms of spec, features, build quality, power. Although the voice command feature is not available on base spec. That feature would be quite useful. Only gripe I have is chery ph didn't bring the facelifted model. Interior on the face-lift is another level above the current model and exterior makes the car even more muscular and premium.

Gnyan ang hybrid. The jolt comes from the engine brake. Honda, Kia, Hyundai, toyoTAXI hybrids have this same jolt as you engage the paddles.

I noticed a lot of reservations when it comes to appreciation on the car.. South African reviewers even compared this to one of the German big 3 lux brand..
