I am 186cm tall and it fits me perfectly. I absolutely love this bike. I bought mine in another town and rode it 400km home. It is so easy to drive. Clutch is very good and easy to use. Suspension is very good. Better than most would think. I ride allot on shitty mountain roads and frost damaged patched roads here in West Norway. I tried a tenere world raid on the same roads and it was so horrible on that bike compared to my transalp. Even my cb500x is better then the T7. Throttle is very light on resistance compared to other throttles i have tried on other brands. So you will not get worn out by riding on long tours. This bike has blown me away. As mentioned it is very easy to ride. Highspeeds. And even the low speed in city traffic driving is better on the transalp then on my cb500x witch surprised me.

I wasn't thrilled with the new Transalp when it was announced, but the few reviews I've seen on the bike have shown me that it is a very practical and probably enjoyable motorcycle to get along with. Great job with the review!

Ι have test drove this model for a full day. Great engine. The only negatives are 1). The fuel indicator seriously suck. No miles remaining display and the 6 brick display is very dispropotional the real fuel quantity. 2). 65% on road, 35% off road bike. You judge if this OK for you. 3). The bike in the basic version looks cheap but don't have hand guards, bash plate, quick shifter etc etc.... 4). Suspension could be full adjustable and not special key required to adjust the preload.

Can't quite make up my mind whether Toby liked it, he was a little bit on the fence. 🤣🤣🤣
@terenceokeeffesmotorcyclestuff
I like the look of the new Transalp but tubed tyres are less than ideal on tour. One puncture and you are totally dependent on a tow truck who won’t fix it for you but cart you off to a dealer who may be very busy and put you at the end of the queue.😮
@Geshmaal
@Geshmaal Год назад
Or totally dependent upon a tyre lever and a spare inner tube or a patch kit. It is certainly more work but people fix punctured tubes out in the wild on a regular basis. What's far worse IMO is Suzuki shipping bikes with one tubed tyre and one tubeless - worst of both worlds!
@terenceokeeffesmotorcyclestuff
@@Geshmaal ..and carry enough tools to remove the wheel(s) etc. given the choice most people won’t choose the option. Most of my bikes have been tubed and you can be lucky too 👍. Yes, what is it with that Suzuki, very odd way to go 😬.

@@terenceokeeffesmotorcyclestuff Only thing is punctures are usually in the back tyre for whatever reason thankfully, the new vstrom 800 is pants though, great engine etc but it will never sell until they release a cast wheel model with tubeless tyres imo.
@terenceokeeffesmotorcyclestuff
@@roadwarrior8560 Totally agree on the 800DE, same for the Transalp, If Honda bring out a 19" cast wheel version they will treble their sales.

Are you really incapable of fixing a puncture on your adventure bike? It’s hardly a deal breaker. Time to live in the real world I think, be prepared to get your hands dirty now and again.

Good vid, I pick my Transalp up this week, but I disagree about the indicators, admittedly they don't look as cool permanently on BUT they stop people pulling out on you I really noticed this on my Honda CB500X 2022 model I found them permently on a game changer.
@jkmayhem
@jkmayhem Год назад
Indicators being on permanently is a good thing. You are more visible for other motorists. Aspecially when it is getting darker. People comment it when they see it positivly when i i am out riding. .

Enjoyed that. Those two bikes go together really well, there’s a lot of symmetry going on, maybe even subconsciously. Old Man big guy on big classic bike & Darcy young buck on his smaller but nevertheless classic bike. Like a lion & his cub.

I do like that bike, I may be wrong but I don't think they are available in Canada yet. 90 hp is enough for any bike, especially when it weighs 208 kg. Hopefully, it will come to Canada, as this may convince me to trade my 1200RT. I am a fan of the Tracer but their prices are crazy now. Anyhoo, thanks for the video.

I sold my 2014 GSA for an ATAS DCT ES and didn’t like the riding position. The GSA seat to peg height was more and the pegs set further back. It was a slouchy position for me and got my back. Also the seat was hard, not KTM hard, and not as comfortable as the GSA. I have an 890 Adventure which is excellent other than the seat comfort. That said, the Transalp might be the better compromise.

In my opinion, all 21” wheels have pros and cons and they’re situation dependent. In one situation you’re glad to have it, in another you’re not and, for the most part, it’s benign. Best to do an inventory on how and where the bike will be used to determine if the 21”ers are needed just for show, or if you need them to go.

The Africa Twin 1000 is same....it will rocket up to 90 no bother....it is more dangerous than a BMW S1000RR.........because....you don't even realise you're doing the speed as the screen blocks nearly all wind and you come to a corner far too fast if you're not careful....on a S1000RR you're always aware of the speed. The AT is probably one of the best all-round bikes out there....but I'd choose the BMW....pure sex appeal.....the James May fizz.

Confused....isn't the bike suppose to have some off-road ability? All the reviews that I'm seeing are done on the road. Why is this bike any different than the CB500X? The exhaust is highly exposed, not protected by the frame, only 16.9 liters (insufficient for adventure motorcyclist), suspension not adjustable. I was hoping for a smaller version of the Africa Twin and we. got another CB500X instead. So much for it being an adventure bike. Honda missed it.

Big Rock Moto has 5-6 vids on the bike. He really puts it through the paces on and off road. The bike can do 90% of what other bikes KTM 890\tiger 900\T7 etc. The consenus from a lot of folks is add cruise and tubeless tires to the standard stuffs you can add bars and skid plate and most will be all set. It’s a sub $10k bike.

Ireland is a wealthier country, the uk is a 3rd world country almost since brexit, sad.😾
@terenceokeeffesmotorcyclestuff
We still have Vehicle Registration Tax (VRT) in Ireland which is €1105 on this bike, no VRT in the UK. Plus our VAT is 23% instead of 21% so it is a comparable price really. Swings and Roundabouts though, a UK resident pays for water, sewerage and eye watering domestic house rates.

No cruise control and tubed tyres isn't going to be popular with it's intended road touring, GS/AT market. Don't pretend it's designed for off-road. This is NOT an off-road bike and won't be on the radar for real adventure riders. It's acceptable for a weekend trip to Costa with a goretex jacket but that's it. Opportunity missed Honda!
@philiprobinson2011
@philiprobinson2011 Год назад
Certainly looks good, but for me it's a non starter. Seat height too high, chain drive rather than shaft drive and no cruise control, these are the things that let it down and mean it is niether a perfect touring machine, nor a good all rounder.
@Croth4r
@Croth4r Год назад
What bikes would u suggest as good all rounders? I can't decide and im about to buy my first big bike. I commute everyday about 30 min a bit of city and a lot of country roads, and i would like to travel long distances on weekends

@therealunclevanya Год назад
Sounds like you want a Moto Guzzi V85TT 😄
@philiprobinson2011
@philiprobinson2011 Год назад
@@Croth4r Well for me it definitely has to have shaft drive and cruise plus it has to be able to potter around at slow speed as easily as blasting down the highway and be comfortable. So as someone else mentioned a Guzzi, BMW GS or RT, maybe even the Goldwing, if weight is not an issue. For me however, when I was faced with this problem last year, I decided on the BMW RS. Not too heavy, or expensive and fulfils all my other needs perfectly.
