Personally, I'm leaning towards 2023 Santa Fe for the design, even for the interior. But that said, 2024 model looks like it will give you more head room and leg room even in the third row, which is more important for me. If Hyundai brought this to Indonesia, will definitely be on top of the list of car we consider to buy it.

Thank you for this review. As a 2023 Calligraphy owner, I was hoping for someone to do this comparison. I think the 2024 will do great for Hyundai. Folks who like this bold design and need more storage and third row will love this. Personally, its not for me. So i am glad I got my 23 Calligraphy when i did. Your right, the engine is amazing. Quick pick up when needed. Yea, the DCT is always on my mind, but as long as i have a valid warranty, i feel ok. Again, thanks for doing this. Love all your vids. Super informative.🎉

Thank you! Given the comments I have seen/heard about this new Santa Fe, I thought it would be relevant to make this comparison. Believe it or not, the storage space behind the 2nd row isn't THAT much bigger in the 2024 model unless you want the vertical height. Hyundai says 4.1 cu. ft. more which is just over 10% more. I think that's accurate but it seems like it's mostly vertical space. You loose the under floor storage which is a big bummer but that's a tradeoff for the 3rd row seating.

@CarsMadeSimple it is very relevant. The dealership I got mine still had 2023 Calligraphy models available with discounts. So comparisons like this really help folks make an educated decision. All your reviews are great. 👍👍

22:05 press and hold ”lane follow /steering assist” in the wheel for 4to5 seconds... I think that is now the the shortcut for activating/ deactivating for 'lane keeping assist'

Sale sale on 2023 Santa Fe’s!

While I find the 24 Santa Fe appealing, I just couldn't go with a DCT. The DCT may give better gas mileage and performance, the design is not well suited to stop and go traffic nor slow going hills. Kia-Hyundai keep trying to push the DCT but invariably pull it when the complaints grow too great. It should be relegated to hybrid and plug-in hybrid use only where an electric motor can smooth the rough edges. That said, a week ago I purchased a left over new 2023 SEL AWD that had $7500 in discounts making it the same price as used 2022 models.

Nice! I did see several leftover 2023 Santa Fe's going for around that price point which is a great deal for a new vehicle. The only bummer is Bluelink+ isn't found on them but the cost savings should offset that once they trial is over but it is pricey for the full suite on the older cars.

17:19 how does this ride versus the ioniq 5 / Genesis gv60 ? Slow speed ride vs bridge sections, expansion joints on a highway , etc ?
@CarsMadeSimple
@CarsMadeSimple 7 месяцев назад
They are quite different vehicles. I would say they both ride very well (I haven't been inside a GV60) in that they are soft but controlled. I would recommend driving them back to back if you want to know exactly the differences.

Thank you for the comparison. I think the comparison of the engines were not at par. In Australia we have 3.6 litre naturally aspirated V6 petrol FWD or 2.2 litre diesel turbo AWD for the 23 model. I think comparing the 24 model with a turbo with a 23 model that is a poverty train not turbo is probably not the right comparison. If the engines were same than that would have been a good comparison. In fact the 23 Santa Fe I drive that is 2.2 litre turbo diesel with DCT is upshifts effortlessly. And while paliaside got the same engine it does not have the DCT. So there is a upper hand in that trim for 23 Santa Fe. Best of both worlds, and should run better since it's lighter than 24. 2.5 litre petrol would not be the right engine to compare with the a turbo DCt 24 model. And also we get the 23 Santa Fe with a third row seating. The knee space is almost the same as Kia Sorrento. You cannot recline the third row same as the Kia Sorrento. But it's a good optional third row with a good space when the middle seat is adjusted at the middle position . Its confusing while in Australia and in Europe we get the third row seating , the north American market don't get the third row and no diesel ?

15:57 i can't understand why they have it spot on in the ioniq5 it's symmetric level and full length support for both elbow. For the Santa Fe the designer went with vanity/ aesthetics ? Unbelievable !😡

This would be a more even comparison between the 2021-2023 Santa Fe Limited or Calligraphy to the 2024 Santa Fe Limited or Calligraphy trim
@CarsMadeSimple
@CarsMadeSimple 2 месяца назад
Yes and no. From a powertrain perspective it would be since those vehicles already used the 2.5T and 8 Speed DCT but from a price and trim standpoint, these are still very comparable.

@@CarsMadeSimple I also meant feature wise too because they have a nearly identical level of features depending on the year & trim

Does the 2023 have more ground clearance than the 2024 model?
@CarsMadeSimple
@CarsMadeSimple 7 месяцев назад
The 2023 actually does have roughly 1.2" more ground clearance than the 2024. The 2024 XRT is about .1" more than 2023.

DCT. Nope they can keep it. A regular Automatic is better. Vehicles cost too much to come with known problems.

Sunroof open?
@CarsMadeSimple
@CarsMadeSimple 7 месяцев назад
Neither of these trims have sunroof's but pano/dual roofs are on the higher trims. They both will tilt and slide. The biggest difference is the 2024 has split glass (front/back) like the Palisade where the 2023 (and earlier) have one pano roof.

Loved the T-shaped headlights on the '23! The H-shape is horrible and just doesn't work! Who wants to drive a toaster and how is that the least bit stylish? Hyundai went our on a limb and lost 19% in sales dropping it to 5th placeand added 600lb unnecessary. Hyundai is losing it going after EV's when people really want hybrids! They need to learn from their top competitor, Toyota. Instead they abandon the mid-size SUV market to make a 2nd 3rd row and compete with their own Palisade. Dumb, just dumb.
