In the process of creating my photo book for 2023, I found I really enjoyed looking back at the photos from the year with a bit of time and emotional distance. One benefit for me in reviewing photos is to look for patterns in the photos I most like - what they have in common in subject, composition and "vibe." Another benefit is seeing (hopefully!) signs of growth in creating photos that tell the stories I want to share. And finally, this time of reflection and review offers an opportunity to consider strategies for future photos.
I'd love to know your process and thoughts on reviewing photos. How often do you take time to review and reflect on your photography? What do you learn in the process?
