Yeah I'm not sure what the deal is with them, doesn't seem like they made anywhere near enough of a difference (at least under 50mph) to warrant the awful drooping feeling lol.

JNS coming in with clutch save. Such a weird way to do foot pegs. I get the vibration dampening, but there had to be another reason for Kawi to want to put those on. I'd love to know what it was.
@SwankyCatProductions
@SwankyCatProductions 2 года назад
My guess is the number one reason they did it along with all the other rubber isolators they stick everywhere, is just to say they have them lol. They don't really help, but their there!!!

Just ordered these with the tusk billet. I only wear a size 9 shoe I am 5'9 and this is my first bike, even just riding around my neighborhood as an inexperienced rider going from first to 3rd and back in hiking boots I could tell that space was tight, annoying as shit. I think this will feel much more spacious like I dont have to work to get under the shifter. I cant imagine with riding boots. Then when I do go off road here pretty soon problem already solved, thanks for the video

The billet pegs? I switched to those a while back and really like them. I couldn't believe how much bigger they were than these. Definitely worth the upgrade!

Nice comparison left and right. I get it though, long distance the rubber insulators would save our toes, ankles etc. from vibration, but actual riding they're garbage by that comparo, that has to give up a ton of feel in corners and such.
@SwankyCatProductions
@SwankyCatProductions 2 года назад
Honestly I feel like they vibrate less, at least up to 50mph (didn't go any faster than that today on a ride). I suppose 70mph 5,500 rpm might be a different story but for my purposes it'll still be well worth it!
@mantonmark
@mantonmark 2 года назад
The first thing that comes to mind in regards to the original rubber foot pegs is that they were placed there to reduce engine vibrations on your feet. Now Im very interested in how the replacement pegs panned out. Were there a lot more noticeable vibrations with the all metal pegs????
@SwankyCatProductions
@SwankyCatProductions 2 года назад
This could be me, this could be my boots, but honestly I feel like they vibrate less now. I don't know if the rubber was picking up the vibrations and amplifying them somehow or what. But either way they are not noticeably worse and definitely worth the upgrade!

Waiting for your test ride with new foot pegs 👍Did they improve the turn signal switch on Gen 3.
@SwankyCatProductions
@SwankyCatProductions 2 года назад
Just rode with them today, could be the cold but honestly I totally forgot about them until the end of the ride lol. Unless there a big difference between 50mph and 70mph (only hot 50 today) than I almost want to say they vibrate less than with the stock pegs and brackets... Could just be me but it's definitely not annoying or noticably worse at any of the speeds or rpms I hit on my hour ride today.

Hello. Would you mind telling the hardware kit you bought for the lowering brackets? Thanks for all the videos! Maybe just use the factory mounting bolts again?
@SwankyCatProductions
@SwankyCatProductions Год назад
The brackets came with the bolts if I recall correctly. I think they're just a little longer than the stock ones.

Does making modifications to the levers and pegs void the manufacturer warranty? I've heard swapping the doohickey can mess up warranty stuff but those mods seem external. Really enjoying vids about the klr 650. =]
@SwankyCatProductions
@SwankyCatProductions 2 года назад
I'd think pegs and and peg mounts would be warranty friendly yeah. Anything internal or that would effect the way the bike operates could cause warranty issues but anything esthetic or comfort related should be pretty safe.
@veloroadpig1
@veloroadpig1 Год назад
I tried these out and have not written them off yet . Solid mounts are great idea but I think these are a little too low for me. They kind of put my knees at the bottom seam of the tank which to me is slightly uncomfortable because I really squeeze the tank. Not saying it's a bad product may not be for everybody.

How is everyone handling the spring on rear brake light switch not being long enough after dropping your rear brake pedal lower to work with the lower pegs? My switch can’t adjust any lower and my brake light stays on the whole time.
@SwankyCatProductions
@SwankyCatProductions 2 года назад
You could pull the spring down a bit more but mine adjusted down perfectly?
@rileymartin1902
@rileymartin1902 Год назад
Just had this problem! I fixed it by just extending the springs length by adding in a washer that goes between the spring hook and the hook on the actual pedal. It just hooks in in line.

@SwankyCatProductions
@SwankyCatProductions Год назад
That's actually adjustable too. It's a bit of a pain and you might have to mess with the spring a bit to make it work but it's possible. Mine seems to get a little sticky but I do ride a lot of nasty wet terrain.

The pegs were just some of the cheap ones of Amazon or eBay. I've got some Tusk pegs with springs now that I like much better. They are larger, grip better and are slightly angled up so you feel more level when your weight is on them. Video about them will be out this Saturday.

And Don't ever take in into raw pure sand! Period! your Your right It's a cool looking.. But a fricking Army tank..Take it frm a 50 year enduro racer from Mich.
