Was wondering to see what Mathews was gonna drop after what all the other brands did. Never shot a Mathews before I’m a PSE guy myself but looking and comparing to what everyone else just dropped this bow looks the most interesting. I’d like to head in to a pro shop just to see how that feels man. Awesome vids, probably one of the content creators that my friends and I are influenced by the most, keep on keepin on!
I was a Hoyt shooter for years but last season I picked up a V3X 29 and I cannot imagine ever going back! Mathew’s nailed it with that platform! It’s so dead in the hands, quite and outright buttery smooth to shoot! Just when I thought that Mathew’s had created the pinnacle of hunting bows, this comes out and makes me want to run back to my local bow guru headquarters! Great video and great bow!
Im shooting an Rx-1 and i am in desperate need of a more forgiving, pleasant bow to shoot. Looking at switching to Mathews or PSE. Now just not sure which models since all new is coming out again already. Looking at a 33/34” ATA for my 29.5” draw
@@joncleereman1633 yeah i would like to shoot whatever i can get my hands on really. The best local shop is an hour away, and they deal with Hoyt, Mathews, PSE, and Bowtech. And everything bought from them is covered and they allow free use of the range indoor and 100 yard outdoors. Reedy’s Archery in Mass. Chris Bee did a cool video on them last year on his dealer tour video series
I love watching your videos! I have gained so much knowledge into how these bows are built. Usually I send it to my nearest bow shop but, after watching all your bow builds I almost feel confident enough to do it myself.
Thanks for all the content that you produce/help with Dan and Elk Shape! I appreciate your honest opinion and reviews on products that matter. I went on my first elk hunt this fall, and although I was unsuccessful, I was confident in my setup thanks to you. It's also cool to see your trophy room to let viewers know you're experience, not necessarily by how many Boone and Crocketts you've killed, but how you've personally seen your setup harvest multiple species time and time again. I learn more from you in five minutes than I ever have on any archery talk/comment board. Sick Mohawk and keep on keepin' on.
It's crazy. The money game is getting out of hand for a tool that's fairly successful at killing animals the requirement for a new version every year I can't explain to my wife. Nah. V3x will work for quite a while.
@@ducatimidnight594 I hear ya, I really like my Atlas. I wont be giving it up soon. I guess there is a balance between depredation and innovation for me. But I agree with ya 100%.
While other companies are trying to make bows with vastly different cosmetics to try to upsell you every year, Mathews is about building on a proven platform to further refine toward perfection. Great video MFJJ. Love what you do as your content makes me a better archer!
Are you kidding me, Mathew’s is selling you a 1400 dollar bow with the only upgrade being some rubber between the limbs, 250 dollar stabilizer, 200 dollar adjustable v bar mount, 250 dollar quiver and a 350 dollar sight. You really think they aren’t up selling you????
Picking up archery after a buddy of mine started. Loving it! Been at it a few months and I am now working through if I am a left handed shooter or right handed. Been shooting right handed and did an outdoor shoot and I was not hitting like I was indoors. After the session, had a little bit of a headache. A lot of your videos have provided a lot of education on what to focus on. Was even able to drop knowledge on my buddies that I shoot with. Keep the content coming and apricate any input on handedness and eye dominance.
My first bow was a Matthews VXR and I couldn’t be happier with it. That being said I’d love a Phase 4 or V3X if I had the chance to upgrade. Thanks for the video review, MFJJ. I’m always grateful for your honesty & candor.
Great video. I'm going to my first tac next month, and the videos you and elkshape make have really helped me dial in my distances and arrow set up. My wide hates me now thanks to all the arrow tinkering I've learned from you guys. Great stuff and can't wait for the next video
Great videos and information! Refreshing to listen to someone who knows what they’re talking about and can add to my knowledge! Thanks and merry Christmas!
I can positively say that you have the best bow reviews on RU-vid. Other reviews I often find myself skipping through, but your videos always keep me interested. Keep them coming!
I always love the honesty and your ability to say the the truth and not just trying to be the salesman to tell people what they want to hear. Your knowledge is a great help in understanding archery a passion we all share.
I just wanna say thank you for what you do. You have helped me so much on bows and accessories. UNFORTUNATELY have never had the privilege to meet you. I just want to thank you for everything you do on your channel, and please keep it up.
Love the honest reviews and all the educational and informative content you put out. The cost of new bows today is the main reason I haven’t upgraded my bow in many years.
Love these reviews! I had always shot a Hoyt for years and then tried the V3X 33. Immediately fell in love with it. By far the best bow I’ve ever owned! Can’t wait to test this new bow once it hits my local shop. MFJJ is the best! I’ve learned so much from his videos that’s I can do all my bow tuning by myself now! Love the man cave also! I hope to turn mine into something like yours one of these days! Keep the videos coming! Always excited to learn more about archery!
Got my first bow last year and have been loving watching you and Elkshape. I am wanting to upgrade and am definitely thinking about this Mathews! Keep up the great work!!!!
Very new to archery. Like less than a year. I shoot a diamond bow. I started watching your videos and you have taught me a lot. I now know all the lingo, thanks for all your help and videos. I realize now I need a new bow
As a noob to archery and hunting, your content is so valuable to me. You and Dan make it accessible for anyone; I am so grateful. And while these bows are an order or magnitude out of my price range, I love tracking with the latest innovations and will keep stashing my pennies to cash in one day. Never stop my guys.
My first bow was v3x 33 last year and I just now have it fully set up and I love it...then this comes out lol may have to try the new one out just to see. Love your channel man did ALOT of watching on your here b4 I bit the bullet on buying a bow. Love the product views as well. Plus your 100 percent honest which is rare these days. Keep up the great work 🤘
Thanks for the vids. In my tree stand in northern PA, in the teens, wind switched and a shooter 8 pt busted me at 5 yds before I could draw my old switchback back. Venting frustrations by watching some reviews.
Thank you for the video. I always love to watch all the new bow release videos. I’m a Mathew’s guy my self and I’m excited to see what the future of these bows brings.
As always love the honest reviews on the newest archery products. I’ve learned a lot about archery that I didn’t before I started watching your vids. Thanks for the info!
Your the best! Thanks for the great info. Im savin up for my first bow right now! Switchin from firearms HOPEFULLY by next year. Cant wait to learn more from you!
I can’t wait to get my hands on one of these to feel how different they really are!!! I have a couple years under my belt with the V3 and can’t believe they keep making improvements on top of that platform. Mathew’s is truly a amazing bow company!!! Thank you for your great honest review honestly don’t look much further past what you have to say on these different platforms!!!

New to archery. I am running an older Hoyt Zr200/MagnaTec from early 2000s until I can afford a Matthews. I really enjoy your content and content with the ELKSHAPE crew. Recently listened to the podcast you did with Dan back in Feb, a lot of respect towards you man and your father would be proud of you. Keep it up man!
I was waiting for this video to come out - considering to buy either the last years bow or the new "version". Thank you very much for the insights! Keep up the good work!
Great videos and information MFJJ!! Every year I wonder if Mathews and pretty much every other major bow manufacturers will reach the pinnacle of bow design. But the next year rolls around and BAM, something new and improved is released! MFJJ, you and the Elk Shape boys keep it up. Wish y’all were closer to me so I could come to the shop. My part of Texas doesn’t have any place like y’all’s. I have to rely on your videos. 👍🏼
Much appreciation MFJJ thanks for creating and honest and extremely helpful community of bow hunters. I’d like to hear a quick story each video about some of your kills on the wall!
Appreciate the honest reviews! I kept wondering what was going to drop. Makes you look at the bow and say, “huh, that’s obvious but I would have never thought of that” lol
Awesome review once again, I had my bow stolen this past year and would love to be considered, keeping pumping out the knowledge and awesome content! Thanks
Pretty impressive they have made the bow have even less vibration. Glad Mathew’s keeps finding new ways to innovate and improve on bows that I thought were nearly perfect before!
Josh, this is a bow that a real beginner can pick up, grasp, pull and shoot with the confidence inspired by some mighty fine archery science and trickery. This is a bow for me, I can almost feel the inner circle Hunter in me lurking around around some hardwoods waiting for a distant gobbler to let me he’s ok with coming to dinner with me. Of course free makes it better and being assembled by you is an added bonus, but hey, just send it to me Johnny Cash style, “one piece at a time” and I’ll build the darn thing! Love it and your channel, keep up the great work and spreading of your wisdom.
Seeing all of these high end bows really does wish I had the funds for a serious upgrade from my bear paradox. I just got into bow hunting a couple of years ago and it’s changed so much of the way i have always hunted. Even with my rifle hunts. Its been quite a rabbit hole since I’ve began this journey. Thanks for the great content and advice you have given. There have been some real nuggets for us who want to learn.
I’m new to archery and bow hunting. Also new to your channel. Just bought a used bow from a friend and I’m going through the process of learning on my own. Thanks for the videos and reviews. Quality content is always helpful.
This bow is the best thing I've seen the 8 limb system is crazy and no vibration. Me personally I like the Ridge lock stabilizer it's the coolest thing I've seen on a bow. Keep up the good work!
That bow seems awesome! I always had old hand me downs from my dad that i shoot and killed stuff with. Then i got a VXR when they cam out and love it! To see the improvement it has made from that already a insane. Awesome videos man i always watch! Have a good one man!
Been looking to get a bow for a while now haven’t had one in about 6 years this would be amazing. Thanks for the content man extremely resourceful and enjoyable!
I bought my first bow a couple weeks ago (Mission Switch) and having a blast learning how to shoot. My 10 year old son wants to learn now. If you upgrade me to the Phase 4 than I'll pass the switch down to him. Thanks for all your reviews and content I've learned so much from you.
Great content as always! I appreciate your HONEST feedback on each brand and model. I’ve shot Mathews for years and really enjoy keeping up with what’s new in the industry through your content. I also bought a set of your stabilizer’s last year for my V3X and am very satisfied with them. Keep producing great, unbiased, content!
Two days ago I was at the range and it was just myself and one other guy he was at the opposite end of the ready line which was a good 40 yards away he was firing diagonal across the range practicing quartering shots, the angle that he was shooting really allowed me to here the snap of what ever bow he was shooting and the the whistle of what ever vein he was using, I immediately realized thought that any deer, elk etc. would jump that sound, so if this new limb system is that quiet it is probably the most important advancement to the archery hunting world in a very longtime.
Awesome review and I love to see these to know what the new technology is, and as an up and coming hunter I love to see the benefits from each bow. Keep up the great reviews and I hope to watch more soon.
I’ve been waiting weeks to see one of these and now it’s finally here! I’m impressed to say the least. I don’t know what would be better winning the bow or making having an excuse to make to long trip out to your shot to have you guys gear it all up!
I'm a broke college student who enjoys bow hunting whitetail in my home state of Michigan. I got into archery at a young age with an old hand-me-down bow from my dad. In 2020 I went to the local archery shop and spent way more money than I could afford at the time and bought my first new bow. I went with the Hoyt Axius Ultra, as it was the most comfortable for me. About a month ago I stopped into the same shop and shot the Phase 4... Now that's all I think about... Great content. Keep it up!
Love my V3X 33 inch. Couldn’t imagine they’d figure out a way to improve on it, but it seems like they did. Mathews is on top of their game. Hoping to get a chance to demo one.
This looks like an amazing bow. I just got involved in hunting this past year and have taken up archery as well. It is incredibly fun, but I am quickly finding out requires a lot of patience. Hoping to pass these traditions down to my kids.
Just subbed. Vast amounts of knowledge. It Would be freaking awesome to get a bow like a Mathews phase 4. Enjoy all the archery content. I’ve learned a lot.
I’ll drive from Holton Kansas to have you build that bow for me! Love the cabin you are in! Keep up all the great RU-vid and instagram posts your doing! You are inspiring me to become a more active archer in learning how to work on my own stuff! Thank you!
