I got the 2017 demo with zero miles at Centennial Nissan in Las Vegas for $9,000 in 2018. Roll up windows manual locks, manual seats, analog stereo and ac knobs, nothing electronic to go wrong. Some tweakers tried to steal the engine in middle of the night, half the engine was disembled and I put it all back in 5 minutes and it started right up, and ran perfectly, it even ran out of antifreeze and never overheat lol. It's been keyed bad and I grinded that out with a drill as clearcoat is amazing. The bumper got rear ended driving Uber, and I popped the cover off with 6 little clips and used heat gun and stomped on it and pooped it out and put back on in 5 minutes. 😂 Best car in the world. It's so tiny I can drive on gold paths

I got mine about a month ago. 2024, manual, blue. Took two months to find a manual in stock, and had to drive 100 miles to get it. I'm very happy. Mileage is great, much better than what is stated. One of the easiest manual transmissions I've ever driven, and I've had a lot of them. I just thought I should get one now, while I still can.

Thanks for making a video on the base S manual. Everywhere just does the top model SR. I'm looking at this same car as a simple, cheap, daily commute car. I expect to rack up miles and keep it for a while so I'm avoiding the CVT like the plague. I wish the back seat folded down, even if it wasn't 60/40 though.

I could see one of these with some coilovers, lightweight wheels, good tires, a shifter kit, clutch upgrade, and that stuff. An "economy car with a manual" is essentially what made people gravitate towards building Hondas, perhaps the Versa will end up a cult classic. Although I doubt it will be as popular as the Fit since that little thing could out corner a Ferrari.

This is a great video - thanks for the review. I commute 150 miles a day to work and have been thinking about a small MT commuter. It looks like it's basically the Versa S vs. a Civic Hatchback Sport if I want a new car with a manual transmission, and the civic comes in at $27,455 without any additional options added!! That seems a little ridiculous, though a hatchback would be awesome to have.

Great video and great car! Kinda shocking how much car prices have increased in just the past couple of years. Heck just 2-3 years ago, you could buy a new Nissan Versa S manual for 14k-15k out the door. Unfortunately, it's not just the Versa, all cars are way more expensive nowadays due to much lower supply of cars. Congrats on snagging a very hard to find manual. I had to rewind it to make sure I heard "$25k for a $17k car" right. If "with a $2000 down payment" means $27k total, that's even crazier. That makes absolutely no sense, for $27k one can buy a new, better built and engineered car from Toyota, Honda, or Mazda that'll last longer and have better resale value. That price wouldn't include an extended warranty, but then again, you wouldn't need one with proper maintenance. If I were buying this car I wouldn't pay them a cent over MRSP, just the tax and nothing else.

@Jan96106 Год назад
Yes, I agree it sounded very high. But he said he purchased gap insurance and extended warranty. I don't know how much gap costs, but the extended warranty at the dealership I purchased my car was expensive. I think it was close to $4,000.00 more. I didn't buy it, and he didn't try to sell it to me. The car price also does not include transportation fees, which are not negotiable, and taxes and title and plates, and their fee to prepare all that for you. The transportation fee adds about $1,300.00 more. And yes, when I purchased my car, it was an absolutely horrific time to buy a car. It is a little better now, a better supply. However, I saw a Versa listed this morning at the dealership I purchased my car, and I looked a half an hour later and it was gone. Someone had already purchased it. They don't get many in, and they go fast. Nissan Kicks are selling like hotcakes too, and I suspect Rogues, too, although I haven't been watching those as closely. Nissan is one of the few dealers with some low-priced cars. So I'm concerned about the CVT, but I paid a reasonable price, and I can get 43.4 MPG on the expressway.

HOWEVER, the mpg 45 average on highway you get with the Versa is impossible to achieve on the Sentra. Bare that in mind. This is why I love the Versa. It’s main selling point is the fuel economy which is also why after turning off the vehicle each time, a screen on dash pops up saying your gas mileage details for that entire ride in comparison to your best mpg record to date.

Just get someone to show you, it's pretty easy and enjoyable. With a manual you'll actually feel like your driving the car instead of riding in it.
@thisandthat7927
@thisandthat7927 Год назад
One way to learn quick is to have a new car you are paying for that you can’t drive until you learn it. Take it to a parking lot and after a couple bucks and stalls maybe a few unintended first gear peel outs and gear grinding and before you know it you will be fine and so will the car.

The europen version has a renault 0,9 litre 3 cylinder turbo. 100hp. It gets 5,7 litres fuel per 100 kilometers of driving. What ever that converts to mpg.

@zippyzappyz thanks for clarifying. I realized that after I watched your other video where you go deeper into the breakdown. From this video it wasn't quite clear. Btw I had the same experience as you when I went in to buy this car (in the process of buying one currently) and the sales rep is telling me there is no such car and I had to tell them I already talked to their manager about the car. No wonder sales figures for this car (not just the manual but the automatic) are way down. They advertise it to lure people in and the minute you walk in they have no versas in stocks at all and they want to upsell you to a sentra or Altima etc.

Dan, the 2021 S had start button and keyless fob. 2022 S had key in ignition, no starter button but had keyless fobs for lock/ unlock. 2023 Versa S has key only no remote fobs to lock/unlock !!!! There has to be a way to add a Nissan remote, I’m betting the receiver is in place. I’m getting same model next week. Did you know this is the last year of the 5 speed manual tranny?

The automatic does not get better economy in my experience. My 2014 5speed at 65mph averages 43mpg on the highway, 38 on its absolute worst day. It might have a better city economy, but it isn't by much when it comes to real world numbers.
