2023 Redcat Machete 4s and 6s issues. What will they fix? @RedcatracingAZ if you would like to chime in I’d love to hear your from the source. What will redcat update on the machete’s? I would love to hear your input.
I'd have to imagine that they're going to address the upper control arm issue. What they do to address it remains to be seen. I'm not entirely sure that they can do a complete redesign implementation and production in just a few weeks but then again they might be able to I don't know. Beyond that I'm not sure.
I do wonder if those drive shafts are some sort of standard shape. I have a hard time thinking that redcat had that shape custom made for them and if they didn't there's a decent chance that we could just go and buy lengths of that same shape in some other material such as 7075 or even steel. I tried doing some research on it but I really couldn't find exactly what it was. You can get hex stock in pretty much any size or length you want but those are almost torx shaped and I couldn't find stock in that shape.
The reason that the X-Max drive shaft is stronger is that it's larger in diameter. That X-Max shaft is almost double in diameter and doubling the diameter far more than doubles the strength. Interestingly a solid rod isn't that much stronger than a hollow tube since disproportionately more of the strength of something like that comes from the material on the outside then it does as you go further toward the center.
I’m glad there are smarter people than me to actually explain things. If they go to a drive cup and dog bone axle I think that would be a suitable update 🤷🏻♂️. We’re you able to repair your arm? I might be getting some arms off of a truck that can’t be sold
@@MattsMotoWoRX I haven't tried. I've tried doing repairs like that in the past and I've never really had good luck with it. I think I'm just going to wait until the updated parts come out
Visually it just looks cheap, and yes I know redcat is a budget brand but one of my first RCs was an Exceed if anyone has been around long enough to remember that and from a brand that's in hobby shops id expect something better than that of a essentially no name or online only RC, I even owned a redcat lightning epx pro and if you're content running things as is not bad but it just felt cheap aftermarket support seemed slim and just cheap junk from Amazon or wish, does a brand like RPM even support redcat 😂
