For the latest Toyota Camry pricing and information:
www.kbb.com/toyota/camry/
The Camry comes from Toyota as either a gas powered or hybrid-powered five passenger midsize sedan, though since it came out in 1982 the midsize category has ballooned somewhat.
The gas engine is a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that makes a decent 203 hp or a 301 hp V6 that’s still available in 3 trim levels.
Add in the 208 hp hybrid trims, I’m driving a hybrid now, and the ability to choose front or AWD on everything but the V6 and we’re almost at truck level configuration options. Don’t worry if your head is spinning. So is mine. Allergies.
The Camry has always been a smooth operator when it comes to driving. Nothing stands out about the ride quality particularly, but nothing really detracts either. It’s comfortable, smooth and easy going. This is exactly what you want in a car like the Camry. Consistency and no surprises.
With their low center of gravity, it’s a mystery to me why more people don’t drive sedans.
A 7-inch central touchscreen comes standard until you get to the XLE trim, which gets you a 9-inch upgrade. AppleCar Play, Android Auto and Alexa Auto all come standard across the trim walk.
Other standard amenities include dual-zone climate controls, power-adjusted front seats with lumbar support, Bluetooth compatibility, even dynamic cruise control. Once you get into the XLE trim you’ll find yourself sitting on Sof-Tex faux leather trimmed seats that are heated, push button start, wireless charging and ambient lighting. Upgrade to the top XSE trim for heated and ventilated seats, a 10-inch head up display.
The thing I like about Toyota’s pricing structure is even if you get the lowest LE trim, you can get the Homelink system or add the cold weather package to your base model car.
You can even upgrade your touchscreen to get the larger one if you’d like. That’s nice flexibility.
When it comes to safety features the Camry gets a line of Standards as you look at the spec sheet meaning things like pre-collision pedestrian detection, lane keeping assist, we already did this good it’s gotten, road sign recognition, dynamic cruise control, and automatic high beams come standard. You can opt for blind-spot monitoring with rear-cross traffic alerts as well.
The Camry comes in 13 colors depending on which trim you choose. You’re bound to find something you like. Though most of you buy them in white for some reason.
Pricing on the Camry starts around $26,300, not including destination charges. The SE Nightshade comes in around $28,800. If you want AWD add $1400 to those prices. The XLE and XSE models are closer to $31 and 32,000 respectively. V6 models in those are even more. ($36,100 and $36,700).
The Camry Hybrid starts at $28,400 and can reach almost $34,000 for the top-of-the-line XSE hybrid trim level. Don’t forget you can add packages, too. No, it’s not quite as impressive as the Porsche configurator but I appreciate the options.
Other midsize sedans playing in the sandbox include the Honda Accord, which gets a complete redesign, the Kia K5, Hyundai Sonata, Subaru Legacy, Nissan Altima and don’t forget about the Chevy Malibu, the American’s lone offering! Boy, it’s much easier giving you all of those because there are so few of them left!
Camry’s are ubiquitous and there’s a reason, they’re solid cars that offer a buyer good styling, innovative tech, and easy driving dynamics for what I’d still consider a reasonable price in this day and age.

I had a '21 XSE and loved it while I lived in Utah. I just traded it in for a Crosstrek because I moved to the midwest where the roads are terrible. I think that is one of the reasons why sedans have fallen out of favor. There is a conception that something with more wheel travel will be safer and resilient to bad pavement. Also, buttons are GREAT! We want shiny big screens and then lament the lack of ease that comes with specific buttons for specific functions. The moment Toyota moves to a large screen and removes buttons, people will complain. It's hard to please consumers these days.
@naveenthemachine

The 2020 XSE v6 is probably the best Camry to date. The interior is so much better with the screen flush in the center stack. And it has all the upgrades like android auto and ventilated seats The 3.5 is the best engine to get in the Camry. It’s a dying breed and the v6 model I suspect will hold its value a lot longer than the 4 cylinder

Just released on Toyota's website on 07/07/2023 that the 2024 Camry trims are all the same as 2023. There is no new 9th Generation Camry. However, the V6 lives on for another year in 2024. Comparing the total cost of my 2023 to 2024, a small increase of $322. 2023 $41,305 vs 2024 $41,627 2023 Camry XSE V6 MSRP $41,305.00 Base MSRP $36,370 if purchased after January 2023 the new revised Base MSRP $36,745 is an increase of $375. [Base $36,370. Drivers Assist $830, Cold Weather $150, Navigation $1,040, Special Color $425, Two-Tone $500, All Weather Floor Liners & Cargo Tray $299, Quick Charge Cable $70, Door Edge Guards $129, Rear Bumper Applique $69, Door Sills $199, Mud Guards $129, Destination $1,095. Grand Total MSRP $41,305.] 2024 Camry XSE V6 MSRP $41,627 Base MSRP $36,645 (Base MSRP has an increase of $275 compared to the 2023 model). [Base $36,545. Drivers Assist $830, Cold Weather $150, Navigation $1,040, Special Color $425, Two-Tone $500, All Weather Floor Liners & Cargo Tray $299, Quick Charge Cable $70, Door Edge Guards $155, Rear Bumper Applique $69, Mud Guards $150, Destination $1,095. Grand Total MSRP $41,627.] * Note: Protection Package -Exterior includes Rear Bumper Applique - Black $69 and Door Sill Protectors $199. However, Door Sill Protectors are not a separately listed accessory item in 2024. Price increase on Door Edge Guards $26 and Mud Guards $21. Since Toyota did not produce the new 9th Generation Camry, the same problems exist: The Infotainment Center does not have Wireless Carplay and Android Auto, and Safety Sense 2.5 plus was not updated to Safety Sense 3.0. The best option to obtain Wireless Carplay and Android Auto is to purchase Ottocast U2-X Pro for $149.99 when on sale for $99.99 as it functions well for me. Disappointing as it may be that the 8th Gen. Camry is outdated going into its 7th consecutive year for 2024. The 3.5L V6 2GR-FSK engine stayed which means it is still better than the 11th Generation Honda Accord Touring.

Is Toyota doing a wrong diagnosis? How a milk got to a sensor? I appreciate any helpful hint

The kinks have all been worked out when you buy the 2023 Camry. Never buy the 1st year of a new Generation Make. These should last 200k-300k....Unless you don't maintain them.

It's starting to feel a bit long in the tooth. No doubt a solid & reliable car but it's time for some upgrades, a redesign, blind spot should be standard now and a larger infotainment screen.

So, if the EV only dies at 25 mph and the engine is constanly running, then how is it that it makes 51 mpg?
@mathisnotforthefaintofheart
Hybrid driver here. No, the car can go into EV up to 70 mph. BUT the button only works up till 25 mph AND if there is enough juice in the battery. At higher speeds the system determines itself. With appropriately using your accelerator, it can go into EV much more frequent in city drive. After two years of ownership I am hovering at 55 mpg's with conservative driving. You got to "learn" the system.
@ndenkha
@ndenkha Год назад
@@mathisnotforthefaintofheart I know the Toyota/Lexus Prime models can drive in pure EV mode at high speeds for like up to 50 miles range. But, I've driven many regular Lexus hybrid loaner models and when using the EV button the engine kicks on at exactly 25mph which is useless in real-life driving. It's like the ICE is running at 99% of the time and that's why I don't understand how the non-Prime models can manage such high rate of MPG.
@mathisnotforthefaintofheart
@@ndenkha It requires a different kind of driving. You need to "learn" the system. One example. You are driving in the city. Speed limit is 35 mph. You accelerate from a traffic light so obviously the ICE kicks in. Then when you are at 35, you release the accelerator and then SLOWLY press it again. You maintain that 35 mph but very often the car goes in EV mode. Also I drive in ECO mode, though in Normal mode my mileage isn't much worse.

The more I look at the totally impractical new Prius, the more appealing the Camry Hybrid gets. An AWD Camry Hybrid is probably just around the corner.

IMO there’s nothing impractical about the new Prius. They’re both great models!

@@mrjuppy3614 Compared to the previous model front and rear visibility has been severely compromised, headroom has been slashed, cargo capacity is down by 30% and seat height has been lowered. Other than those minor details, it is perfectly practical. 😄

Good luck with that GDI engine and burning oil. How do I know? I'm a mechanic and see this problem all the time. seems to start around 60K miles

Take a fire extinguisher along with it, and yes, that applies to the new Kias/Hyundais, too. The K5 is a great looking car, though.

A bit misleading. Made it sound like there was a 2023 Camry XSE Nightshade with V6 which I have not seen. I have done well getting a 2023 Camry XSE V6 fully loaded. My biggest complaint is Poor MPG. With 1,405 miles driven, getting only 19.7 MPG as 65 percent City and 35 percent Highway. A better word for it is pathetic. For Wireless Carplay and Android Auto get the Ottocast U2-X Pro when on sale for $99 works very well as I give it a Rating 8.8 out of 10 stars. The actual worth of a 2023 Camry XSE V6 fully loaded two-tone in my opinion is $36K, not $40K.
