Ordered the Marlin 8 gen 3 as my first bike, for commute and light off road. Waiting for the bike to arrive around March 10.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm hoping this is available in the US by Father's Day! I've been riding a Marlin 7 with a 125mm dropper post and Maxxis Ardents tubeless but I think I've maxxed out on the upgrades.

GB website shows the price as £305 more than the gen 2. Unless they've made the gen 2 cheaper as it's the older model now. If not, that seems insane with a 30% increase.

I wonder when it will actually be available in Australia. I'm looking for a new bike. I like the current Marlin 8 (we get the Gloss Alpine fade), but not sure about the SRAM SX. Never used SRAM before, but gear changes seemed quite harsh and clunky when going to the last few small cogs.
