Just realized - I did not activate traction mode for the launch control run, and launch control didn't engage. This is why the time is worse than it should have been. Since the car had barely any miles, it did seem to hold back some power during the first few runs.
you have to press break hard with left foot and full throttle and when it shows launch control then release the break and you shoot from the spot in 4 sec with this car
Great comparison, thanks! I was looking at these two cars just last week and am picking up my M440i xDrive tomorrow. This is a really comprehensive video, nicely done.
Awesome car and great informative video . This green shade is actually very nice. I got a different color though, from the same store. Just waiting to arrive. I can’t wait.
Great video! I would definitely choose the M440i since it seems more engaging, but quickly wanted to make the point that just shows why we love those 2010> cars so much, during the video you said that you don’t feel the speed in this car and that’s something that in such a sporty car shouldn’t happen. In those older sports sedans you felt the speed and that made them genuinely engaging, these days though even the sportiest cars that are “engaging” have very numb chasis feel and want to isolate you from everything
Thank you! I think the chassis in this car is perfect, and feels very engaging, but the great sound proofing and aerodynamics hide the sense that you are going fast (not a bad thing), but you still very much get to enjoy the acceleration and excellent, precise handling. If you really want to get a sense of speed, get a Charger Scatpack. Those feel scary!!!
@@DMCarReviews oh it definitely isn’t a bad thing if you want a dual purpose car which a lot of people do since not everyone can afford to own multiple cars. Im just saying from a visceral standpoint these cars lack compared to the older cars which most had hydraulic steering and not much sound deadening. And oh yeah those Scatpacks are a riot😂
I leased 2024 s5 sportback with black optic couple months ago , I used had bmw 640i gt and loved bmw so I was gonna go for m440i grand coupe, but even s5 and m440i has similar msrp, Audi had so much better deal and discount so I went for Audi. I thought I was gonna regret it but I didn’t , like u said bmw is much much fun for driving , but this s5 looks amazing, every time before I get in the car and I got off the car , I couldn’t stop thinking how beautiful it look lol
The S5's do have much more aggressive deals. They do have a good look to them, but I think the BMW has a much more aggressive style, and I think it's more comfortable too.
Great video as always! I would for sure choose the BMW as I prefer the better handling and to me I6>V6 all day. A fully broken in one would probably shave .4s with lc
Thank you for this really detailed and comprehensive review. As an A5 owner, who is planning on moving into a new vehicle, this really helped narrow down my decision. Having seen the spy photos of what Audi intends to do to the platform in 2025, I no longer feel the need to wait. I see the M440i in my future.
It's great! It's much more informative than the S5 steering, and has some pleasant weight to it, but it's super comfortable and secure. The ride is excellent, and the fuel economy and range are class leading too. The Audi steering wheel you can turn with a pinky. At triple speeds it doesn't feel as secure as the heavier steering.
Thanks for the quick reply! And wow…that doesn’t seem as safe on the s5 end of things…with my experience with BMWs (I have an e46) the steering weight has some heft to it, but it definitely feels a lot safer in speedy situations, only downside being fatigue with long term driving.
Completely different cars, for different purposes. The 4 series is fast, quiet, handles perfectly, and has a business style. The scatpack is also fast, loud, much cheaper on the interior, outdated infotainment, doesn't handle as nimble, and is an attraction for thieves.
@@DMCarReviews i like that response, thank you. I have a charger scatpack so I was curious of your educated opinion. M4 cs & comp are suppose to be faster than the scatpack stock for stock im pretty sure. Luckily my charger has all the bells and whistles you can get from factory. Heated ventilated seats, heated steering wheel, harmon kardon 19 speaker, sunroof, daytona seats, heated back seats although because its a 2018 daytona 392 It comes with super track pack & not SRT pages. But the engine does have a giant blue air filter because its a daytona.
in the next few month i'll start working into cybersecurity, this bmw will be my self present one day, but still undecided between this bmw or the audi s5, what do you think? edit: yeah, im probably gonna get a bmw
Digital gauges on new BMW's are simply atrocious, they are so counterintuitive and do not provide quick information, why can't we get some customization? Frameless widows are also a useless gimmick and much worse then regular frame ones. This car was a contender but lack of spare tire kills it for me.
@@lawabiding2576if you've seen how bmw is doing spare tires in their 3/4 series, it really is an afterthought. They sell you different floor panel that raises the whole trunk several inches, effectively negating the advantage of sportback trunk.
Dude, your head mounted cam is giving me a freaking headache. Try mounting a camera to the vehicle instead of to your head, like ALL the automotive channels with 1,000,000+ subs all do. Just helpful advice.
@@DMCarReviews I like your vlog, BUT just saying your HEAD mounted cam, looking back-and-forth and around gets dizzying, hard to watch. Check out how they do on “Redline Reviews” or “autogefuhl” “Car wow” or “Throttle House” etc. LIKE your review, but MOUNT you cam stationary 😊💪
