👋 In todays video we take a look at the all new 2024 BMW X1 M35i! In the past, the M35i was reserved for the BMW X2 and now not only is it on the BMW X1, but this is the first time the X1 has had an "M" edition! The 2024 BMW X1 M35i has a great looking exterior in my opinion! It's very sporty looking and even though this is the smallest SUV in the BMW lineup, aside from the X2, it has a large presence to it! The front end retains the kidney grill, but very proportional for it's size and the hood lines give it a great look! This 2024 BMW X1 M35i has upgraded horsepower, larger brakes, M sport everything, from the seats, to the steering wheel and it's exactly what an "M" should be like!
The interior for this 2024 BMW X1 M35i has the two tone seats and such a nice vibe! All of the materials are very nice and it's what you would expect from a BMW! For the price of right at $60K, it is expensive, but you are paying for all the performance and the "M" SUV that you are buying!
The 2024 BMW X1 M35i drives like an M BMW should! It's so much fun and with the exhaust or exhaust sound, it has a great sound! The shifts are smooth, and with the adaptive suspension, it's a smooth and comfortable ride! For a small SUV, it's spacious and practical and if you need a small and sporty SUV, the all new 2024 BMW X1 M35i is a great option!

Just bought one. Downsized from a 2021 loaded X3. Love the size and performance. Yes a little smaller inside, but performance is epic. No regrets🤙🏾

Probably a mixture of the quick shifts of the dual clutch trans and BMW presumably falsifying shift noises in the cabin through the speakers, similar to the audible popping sounds in the 2023+ M340i

I have a 2023 X1 with basically everything fully fully loaded MSRP 51k but 8k more for the seats, the paddle shifters, and exhaust. I will say I do like the sound. My car does not have any sound whatsoever 😂 that I would like. The rest idk, i’m not really happy with the car mainly because of the duel-clutch transmission along with the stop start engine is an absolute nightmare, the worst combination ever. You literally have to go into the settings and shut off the automatic stop start engine every single time you get into that car because if you don’t, it’s not drivable. The stop/start button/menu is about 3 screens deep too. Such a pain.

Is it fast and does it hard corner well?? My wife has an evoque amd sometimes she guns it amd corners hard. I tell her the evoque cant take that punishment....lol. told her next car i get her, she can go fast amd corner hard and i think the x1 m35i would be perfect.

I would say it does that. I didn’t push this as it’s not mine and a brand new vehicle, but it’s setup for that. It’s not a sportscar. But could handle some turns at normal speeds.

@theguy1224 I have a 2022 fully loaded X3 M40i. It’s an amazing vehicle. However, for me it’s too big. I don’t feel connected to it while driving. I’m leaning towards the 2025 X2 M35i - smaller and when fully loaded it’s more than 10k less than the new 2024 X3 M40i (which will be replace by the 2025 X3 M50i). No doubt though, the X3 is the better performance vehicle B58 > B48.

For almost 60k might as well spend more and get an X3 M40. Slightly bigger and has the 6cyl.

They start around $15K more! That’s a good chunk unless you really want/need a bit more space.

@@BrosFOURRSpeed I said X3 M40, not the X3M. X3 M40i HP 0-60 MPH STARTING MSRP 382 4.4 sec $61,900 That's off the BMW website. It doesn't make sense to get this X1. BMW knows how to trick their customers.

A base X3 40i or a fully loaded X1, just depends on what the buyer wants and will need. It's not a trick, just depends on the size SUV someone needs.

@@BrosFOURRSpeed Even with 2 most commonly added option packages BMW offers will cost around 5-6k bringing the total to about 67-68k. More power, bigger space for 8k more seems like a no brainer. It just doesn't make sense.

@@theguy1224 for you it might not be, but someone might not want to spend $8K more. Everyone is different and will buy what works best for them. I bought a used X5 for $60k. I wouldn’t want to spend $8K more on that.

Almost every car today has a touch screen! it was weird not seeing the controls down below, just no space for it.

Any reason why anyone would pick this car over the RS3? Provided that the smaller size RS3 is not an issue?

Ones a suv, ones a sedan. So depends on what the buyer wants. No one is cross shopping an X1 and RS3 though.

A practical question is whether the M35i is worth $10K-$15K more than a loaded regular X1 with all the packages. Basically for the extra dough you get cosmetics, quad tail pipes, better brakes and a wee bit faster. But poorer ride, poorer gas mileage, and no spare tire. Both have same lag/lurch from a stop.

Didn’t experience any lag/lurch, so not sure why you think that. All depends on what the buyer wants. I think it’s worth it. It’s an expensive X1, but it’s an “M” car! Handles well, I wouldn’t say a poorer ride. Lots of vehicles don’t have spares, so that’s not unusual.

It's a toss up. This was a lot of fun to drive. It truly felt like a real M Sport vehicle. I found the ride quality to be just fine and very comfortable still. So just depends if someone wants this smaller size with the fun factor. An X3 M40i would be the next step up and be $10k more spec'd similar. So I think that is the car people would consider instead of this. I don't feel buyers of the normal X1 would cross shop the M35. People looking for the sporty SUV lines wouldn't even look an a non M sport. So I think its worth it for the right buyer who doesn't want to spend nearly $70k for the X3
