Had several Toyota Tacoma Trds 06 10 15 19 23 love them. Looks, longevity, resale. Recently bought a white 2023 TB nicely equipped with 5000 miles WOW no more gear hunting so much more torque very impressed so far and very nice to drive. THANKS your spot on.

The 3rd gen tacoma was a excellent truck for it's time. Now the game has changed and we no longer have to deal with toyota quirks and annoyances to have the reliability. The colorado is bigger, more room, more power, more capable, and built better than the new 4th gen tacoma . And the price of the colorado is very nice comparatively. The colorado trailboss is the smartest truck buy in 2024 in my opinion. Congratulations on your new one.

@25008272 it's a tough choice between the tb and the zr2. Both are amazing. If you are not offloading it hard enough to need the front locker I'd save the 10k and get the tb. But then again the zr2 will have better resale, more options standard and have more capabilities. Like I said tough call.

If I did have to buy a 🆕 midsize truck which I would hate to do, I'd probably go with the Z71 because I don't do a lot of off-roading but it has a nice interior & still capable to do decent off-roading, just put different tires & get the 18" option lol

I completely agree. The G80 just works when you need it to, disappears when you don’t. 2hi, 4hi, auto, or 4lo. I used to take my Jeeps and trucks off-roading. Honestly, it’s way cheaper and you can go much farther, much faster on an ATV or SxS. The Trail Boss will take 99% of people farther than they would ever need.

@Holden-McGroin the canyon is beautiful. I dont talk about them too much as my world is dirt, mud and hard on gear so the Colorado version fits my style best being more affordable. But the canyon at4 is gorgeous! I test drove one as soon as thr 23s came out. It's beautiful.

@@SamkoWorkShopI bought a 2023 Colorado Trail Boss July 3 ,,started doing Lyft with my Corolla and payed it completely off yesterday, only put 2k miles on it! I love my truck and did get every option you can get on one,,41,100 it’s that medium gray color! Plus got mine the 430# torque calibration!

if only this OR that GMC Canyon had a manual transmission option (i don't believe they do ? ?) + a cab chop to single cab 2 door pickup... but the bed rails are 2 darned high and wide that i just cannot even touch the bottom of the bed leaning over the side of the truck 8^( with both feet on the ground

The 3rd gen tacoma 23 and old would be the best bet for a 200k trouble free truck. In 2024 models it's a total toss up between the trailboss and tacoma. And I'd trust the trailboss more as it's been out longer. Toyota always has issues the first few years of a new truck

But you could always order one the way you want. When I built mine the way I'd get it it was 39k and I'd find a dealer that would give me a couple grand off for ordering it theu them and have it 3 months later.

Bought a 2023 OUTBACK WILDERNESS. Swapped the stock tires for next size 235's. Outstanding vehicle ( 2nd Sube). Been on the surf 🎣 and even hauled a 90 lb doe and a 6 pt buck. Again excellent vehicles and avg.mpg is around 27. Affordable and Tough 👊

this info is fantastic as im about to buy the 2024 trail boss and did NOT know all of this info. if i was a salesman (lady) there, i would give this info to anyone that would listen. great info, thx so much. i am trading in my 2021 ford f 150 for this smaller truck, hopefully in a few days. they are trying to “locate” the one i want, color, etc. i will know soon. also, i got rid of the crappy wrangler tires and put michelins on my ford and it grabs much better to snow and slick roads and cuts through puddles like butter, where before, i nearly slid off the road, even at slow speeds. by the way, the bridgestones are on the trail boss, and i think i heard they are better than their other truck’s wranglers… but not as good as mich, is that right?

Congrats on your upcoming new trailboss! You are going to love it. Tire wise I actually cant help much with those as I have been driving aggressive all terrains like the Falken wildpeaks for the last 20 years. I dont know much about the stock tires or similar. Sorry couldnt help much there. But michelin has always been one of the best all season tires and handle on the road better than most from what I have read and heard. But again I can not personally confirm. So excited for you. You are gonna live this truck.

@@SamkoWorkShop thx so much for the fast reply. after i sent that i did some googling and luckily, the bridgestones are better than the wranglers. i hated wranglers in the past. if i hit a puddle and lose control, i will buy michelins as they made a massive difference with my current ford, that im about to trade in. i am only trading since my 3 year warranty is up, and instead of getting an ext warranty, i think its time to move in and downsize a tad. and the trail boss is just so dang cute.

@@gailsfoodandstuff amazon leds buy companies like auxbeam, lasfit, sealight, and all the others are are excellent. I have been running these amazon led bulbs in my renegade, tacoma, bellas rav 4 and also in my gladiator. They are outstanding and cost like 50 bucks. Same with interior light kits. amazon sells kits that include all the little bulbs like back up, interior dome light, tail lights, etc. Again very affordable.

Yep that will change when the 24s start hitting lots and the lots load up. Everything is delayed because of the strike that happened. Technically the 24s should of been out in September traditionally. Strike backed everything up big time.

@@homerepairguy1902 yeah that's on a full size truck... Things are getting stocked up right now tho that's a fact so I'm not sure... Why would you get rid of your truck with such low mileage? My buddy has a GMC Sierra 2018 6 speed auto w/ Z71 📦 he likes it He's got like 65,000 miles now he just changed the transmission fluid using amsoil & a new filter maker sure You do that cuz GM trannies are weird & not so solid 🤔

Frontier is a great truck. You can get both a trailboss or a pro4x right now for mid 30s if you shop around and do so e negotiating

If it's the 4 cylinder that's giving you pause, there's some really good videos on the L3B engine in the 2024 TB that go into great detail about the engineering and research that went into it. It's probably the most capable mid sized truck engine out right now, with a proven track record

No. My gladiator is perfect for my lifestyle. Will re evaluate in the end or 2025 to see what the smartest option is for me. Will decide then if I keep the gladiator longer, buy another one, or buy something different. But if I were buying today that trailboss for its amazing price would be very high on my list. It would be a battle between the zr2 and the trailboss if I was thinking chevy.

I know you’re not comparing it to the Gladiator Rubicon but…If someone was looking for the top Off-roader the Gladiator wins hands down! The gladiator could be set up with 37 inch tires and a small 2 inch lift or you could go up to even 40 inch tires with a few modifications, and four wheel with the big boys in Moab. The simplicity of the gladiator is also second to none. You can almost do anything with it…

Agree 100% the gladiator it's in a league of its own for capabilities stock or modified. Didn't put it in the comparison much because many are not looking for a truck like the gladiator when they are looking researching midsize trucks. So I stuck to the big 3.

There is a couple guys on youtube running 34s on thier trailboss. They said zero issues and were taking it off road and flexing it pretty well. Search trailboss with 34s on yourube should bring them up. Congrats on the amazing new truck

@jimmycline4778 I believe you can put 34x11.50 tires on the stock trailboss. That makes it just a half inch shy of the zr2 height and you have bigger tires. Love the trail boss

Not sure where your getting your numbers from but I just got into a 2024 Ford Ranger FX4 for $ 42,000 with the Rear Locker and the TM modes along with a few other options. So how is that $ 8,000 More ? Ford failing with its first year of upgardes ? Doubt it.

yep a 24 xlt fx4 with a spray in bed liner and tow hitch is 43k msrp. Thats a great price. so its about 5k more than the trailboss. Hope your right on ford doing great on the first year of this new truck. Congrats on your new ranger.

@@SamkoWorkShopMost people aren’t gonna pay 38k for a TB, my Colorado TB was 41,100 but I did get towing package , cruise control,,soft tailgate with storage, sliding glass window with defrost 360 cameras, power seat, spayed in liner, allweather floor mats, and 430# torque calibration, same power as ZR2,,, A 38k TB won’t come with all these features, including damped tail gate with storage in TG, cruise control , after I bought it they marked all Colorados up, a LT 2 wheel drive was 40k 🤯

@jimmycline4778 sounds like you got a great truck! A 2024 priced out with hitch, cruise the tail gate damp and storage msrps for 38500. The trailboss is the best value for an amazing truck. And they will build so many trail bosses in 2024 I bet I could get one for 3 or 4k below msrp in a few months

Actually the 2024 ranger is longer, wider, new suspension geometry, all new interior, basically new frame with all new reinforcements added and new body design. For ford (a company that does change much) it's a all new ranger

It is turbocharged and GM is still installing that crappy cylinder deactivation garbage, even on a four banger. Transmission? How soon will it fail? Based on history.

History is irrelevant since everything is all new for this truck. I bet it's gonna be amazing and had already proven to be very reliable. Look at toyota. Historically one of the most quality and reliable trucks made. Not anymore. History is irrelevant in the auto world today

The 4 turbo is here to stay with all new trucks. No option to get away from turbos anymore. Government is requiring them basically. I said they were nit as reliable as a naturally aspirated v6. But remeber I had a 23 colorado zr2 on order before I bought my gladiator. I don't mind the turbo 4. But I definitely don't was a turbo 4 hybrid

I love the new colorado and gm has been spot on lately. Love the direction they are going. In a time when every other manufacturer is falling on its face gm is stepping up its game. I'm very impressed with gm lately.

They are held up as them make some changes for 2024 to fix a few issues they found in the 2023s. So they have a hold on 24s for updates.
