2024 Ford Equator Sport in-depth Walkaround
The 2024 Ford Equator Sport is equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that delivers 158 horsepower and 248 Nm of torque in Sport mode. Additionally, it now offers a plug-in hybrid powertrain option, which pairs a 150 horsepower, 1.5-liter petrol engine with an 82 horsepower electric motor, resulting in a combined output of 218 horsepower. This plug-in hybrid version utilizes a lithium iron phosphate (LiFePo) battery pack from CATL, though further specifics about the battery pack are not yet available.
The exterior of the 2024 Equator Sport features a redesigned front end, showcasing a smaller grille, sleeker LED headlights, and more streamlined bumper intakes. The vehicle's nose is more sculpted, and adorned with a dark-finished area covered by a honeycomb pattern. At the rear, the design remains largely unchanged from the previous model, except for a revised diffuser, enhancing its overall aesthetic.
