2024 Ford F-150 Tremor - Do you REALLY need a Raptor?? 

As a 2024 Raptor owner, I’m here to say it’s not a rational choice. I didn’t cross-shop anything else, because I only wanted a truck to light my hair on fire. The Raptor makes me laugh and smile every time I drive it, and that makes it worth every penny.

Tremor 5.0 + Whipple….no V6

NO I don’t NEED one BUT I want one😃 And last week I bought a 2023 402A Avalanche 3.5L with only 7100 miles on it & garage kept. My neighbor going through a divorce and he took a job in South Korea. I got it for $17,000 off his sticker.

I’ve got the 2015 3.5 eco boost 365 horse 420 torx ,and the only problem I had was I replaced the throttle body twice 1st time was 90,000 thousand and the second time was at 193,000 thousand easy fix . Truck still looks like brand new with the aluminum alloy body. And I live in mn with salted roads in the winter. 4000 mile oil changes. Truck runs as good as it did brandnew and I run 35 inch tires.

Push buttons on the tailgate is not always practical. Toyota is putting them by the taillights. I love that.

When he took off you could here the rocks hitting aluminum alloy. I would never do that with a brand new vehicle.

Looks great, price is insane. Sad they went away from XLT trim levels for the single cab short beds. Would be cool if Ford offered premium trims for regular cabs. My Tacoma will get me back and forth to work for the 250,000 miles, and my '02 F350 will continue to do all the hauling I need it too. For less than this truck cost by itself.

The running boards are great, especially in areas where it snows. Easy to stomp the snow off of my feet before I get in the truck. In addition it helps the kids get in.

I love every F150 2019-present with a little lift and tires..everything else is a plus

This is on my list of possible next vehicles. But I still haven’t decided if I’m going truck or sedan

No you don’t need a raptor unless you are running in the wide open desert. I was trying to find a truck that could both tow and offroad well and test drove two supercab raptors(the short wheelbase ones) and it was immediately apparent that they would be worthless on half the trails I run. Even with the super short wheelbase of the supercab, it’s still just so wide. I had a regular F150 before and even that was big for a lot of trails. I ended up in an LX570, which is 3.5” narrower than a normal half ton, and that’s a pretty happy medium. It still tows extremely well but has a super short wheel base and insane turning radius and can get down most any trail

The hood vents are functional!

I've been wanting the 2024 or 2025 Tremor when it comes out, but have been leaning towards the Platinum to be able to get the Powerboost engine. Someone said they heard the Powerboost engine would be an option for the Tremor in the 2025 model. Do you know if this is true? Whichever I get I plan to do a 2 1/2" to 3 1/2" level and get larger 35 tires w/ just a bit more poke after market, though the Tremor is tempting just as is. A beautiful vehicle, and its off road capability, though not a Raptor, exceeds that of the FX4 package so better than the Platinum in that regard. I didn't know those hood vents are not functional, just cosmetic. That sucks.

Maybe they can get Kevin Bacon to be truck spokesman.

The question in the title is "do you really need a raptor". A tremor IS NOT a budget raptor. If your perfect off road destination is the hills of western North Carolina or Eastern Tennessee, the Tremor is the truck for you. On the other hand if the Glamis dunes or Ocotillo wells is more your jam, the raptor is the truck the truck for you. These are different off road vehicles for different kinds of customers. The raptor is my favorite truck bar none. The catch is if I had the money to do more than talk about buying one, The tremor with the 7KW pro power option is the perfect truck for me.

It’s a nice truck yes but it’s got STX headlights. I bailed on it and traded my 23 lariat and ordered a 25 lariat

why didnt ford offer 20" tires

Not a proper truck without a V8 and V8 rumble. V6 sounds terrible.

Ford still have great pick ups,but i feel like they are robing us for some years with the prices and less quality.

This thing is the 1/4 the cost of a new home where I live. I can’t afford a home fianaced for 30 years and I def can’t afford this financed for 5-6 years. Fords decision to sell less trucks but mark the ones they do way up is ruining the affordability.

Ik I’ll never buy new again! I’ve had two new vehicles over the years and it’s not worth the extra money at all!

Please buy these vehicles. The economy depends on high spending behavior.

V8! No way a V6

Justification for getting the V8 is better reliability, family member is a master mechanic who works at Carmax. He sees all kinds of cars and trucks, he said all of the ecoboosts are trash. He constantly sees the 3.5 and 2.7 in for repairs, and I am not saying the V8 is without its own issues but they last longer on average.

Hi :) ... Maybe you heard of the new Capri, which Ford plans to introduce as of 2025; it'll be an SUV-EV with the iconic name of a sports-coupé, which was built from 1967 to 1987. Big trucks need a V8 not a turbo 6... V8 will last way longer, I've heard nothing good about the turbo motor after a couple of years 😳

I think the Tremor should have a leveling kit.

When is Ford gonna make an actual new f150? Same body style since 2009 they just change the front and rear lights.
