Super nice truck. I’d like it better without the cheesy graphics on the bed. I do like the trx better though. I was following a raptor r the other day. It had personalized plates that read “LOL TRX” definitely made me laugh.
That’s for sure, and what an awesome plate!! I’m not sure which one I prefer, they’re both so good! The Raptor R is more rare and has a more unique engine, but I would expect the TRX to be more reliable, and they’re already proven. I will say the Raptor Rs ability to drive in 2wd is nice (tire spin and sliding) whereas the TRX is always in AWD/4WD.
The bed stickers are an easy fix for the dealer with their heat guns. When I ordered my Tremor this last spring, I mentioned that I wasn't a fan of the bed stickers. When I went to pick the truck up a month later after it was built, there were no stickers.
I’m impressed you got your hands on a Raptor R to review. Very cool review. I’m not into trucks at all but this one would be a fun. And really $100k is not bad when you see plain looking trucks (with much weaker motors) in your other videos going for $70-80k.
Same here, so am I! It’s a 2023, but I applied the main updated spec for this new year which is a HP bump to nudge out the TRX, lol. You’re right, at current prices these almost seem like a bargain. I just visited some out of state dealers in a well known city (will post that video soon) and after what I had seen with some over priced Lincoln’s and other truck type vehicles this is a deal lol… 😢
Thanks, I appreciate you deciding to watch. This was one really fun to make. I’ll post a similar one but with a 24 Rubicon 392 very soon. That was one also very fun. 😎
I’m sorry about any confusion! This one specifically is a 2023, so there’s a couple subtle changes for the 2024s interior that I forgot to mention. Usually when I have access to a last year model or slightly used one that I can have more fun with to make a better video I will try to provide most of the specs and differences about the new year while driving the one I can do more with. When I found this Raptor available I didn’t have much time to prep before taking it out and that’s where I dropped the ball and there’s a few missed points. But also maybe 3% of the people watching this will actually buy one, so for most people it doesn’t matter although I do want to be as truthful as I can. So that’s why there’s the asterisks on the year in this video, with it mentioned in the description of being a 23. Thanks for watching! 🙂
Worth the money! You talk about turning radius? It’s a truck not a Subaru it’s not supposed to have a turning radius like a city dwelling car that wants to have fun in the snow every great once and awhile when the conditions are just right.
I think the most noticeable driving difference in these trucks (to me at least) is the R has 2WD so it can slide around and be more entertaining at times. But I’m not sure it’s as reliable as the proven Hellcat and its aftermarket support.
Yeah, absolutely! NA cars lose 3-3.5% every 1,000’ of Density Altitude. Supercharged/turbo cars lose roughly half of that so 1.5-1.75% per 1,000’. In my testing they definitely perform well in my altitude, but still very much suffer loss during the summer heat in 100 degree weather and 7,500’ DA.
Very nice, X or S? I drove an S Plaid as one of the very first cars I did a video on (it’s horrible and I wasn’t expecting to drive a Plaid that day lol). Country road, half battery charge, non Cheetah mode and it did a true 2.4 0-60, nothing I’ve driven since then is below 4s (Hellcats, ZL1, CTS-V, R, etc). I personally don’t think the Teslas are the funnest cars to drive, but I will admit that the Plaid ruined straight line performance for me, lol. Now my opinion is drive what you get the most fun out of, rather than what’s the fastest. And I will say this Raptor was hilariously funny, at least in the few hours I had it. Thanks for watching! 🙂
@@AutomotiveAnonymous208probably right. Imagine paying the insurance, this car note, home mortgage and insurance! Forking out 10k a month , so half a mil sounds about right.
Yeah, lol. Although this SC 5.2 rips, that’s a steep price increase and it’s not worth that much over the base HO V6. Personally I’d rather sell the V6 when new, spend a few extra grand, and just have a Whipple 3.0 SC on top of a base 5.0 Coyote in the regular Raptor and in total save 25k for the same power level and reliability lol.
You’re right, I actually put that in the video description. I used this slightly used one as it was broken in and a better situation for me to have some fun with. 🙂
Imagine if those Dinosaurs crushed in Noah’s flood would have known someday they’d be used to fuel a 700HP Dinosaur lol. The circle of life? 🧐 Thanks for watching!
I'm sorry to tell you but the carbonfiber is real and also this happens to be one of the worst automotive reviews I've ever seen before you start criticizing a vehicle you should at least do your home work and know the particulars of the vehicle
@@yogiballa lmao! I am buying a raptor r and I own a 2019 raptor, 2019 mustang 5.0 pp1, and a Trackhawk. I actually buy ford and dodge speciality vehicles. I can have a say. You?
