2024 Geely Galaxy E5 in-depth Walkaround
At the 2024 Shenzhen Auto Show, Geely Galaxy showcased the E5 SUV and E8 sedan, making them the centerpiece of their exhibition. The E5 SUV, often seen as the smaller sibling to the E8 sedan, is anticipated for release in August this year. Both vehicles share the same design language and feature similar Meizu Flyme technology.
The Geely Galaxy E5 SUV is built on the new Geely Electric Architecture 3.0 (GEA 3.0), which is derived from the existing SEA platform. It measures 4615 mm in length, 1901 mm in width, and 1670 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2750 mm. The E5 is expected to be lighter than the E8 sedan, which weighs 2,030 kg.
In terms of power, the E5 will be equipped with a drive motor model TZ184XY101 produced by Wuxi Star Drive Technology Co., Ltd., boasting a maximum power of 160 kilowatts. According to Geely Galaxy's product plan, the company aims to focus on the mainstream market of "hybrid + pure electric" vehicles this year, with plans to launch three new energy products based on innovative architecture and design language. The naming convention for Geely Galaxy models includes the letters L and E, representing the "intelligent electric hybrid L series" and the "intelligent pure electric E series," respectively. For specific model names, even numbers like 6 and 8 denote sedans, while odd numbers such as 5, 7, and 9 represent SUVs.
