Scotty said it best in ST-TNG relics, “a good engineer is always wee bit conservative, at least on paper, you never tell the captain how long it really takes”.
I know how you feel about the dealerships. Powersports dealers are even worse than automotive. Labor cost is higher and warranties are worse than on cars. I just bought a honda monkey a few months ago and its crazy to me that the first service has to be done by a dealer to not void the power train warranty. On my old scooter I did all the work because both times I took it to a service center either something else was broken/scratched or parts/ hardware was missing.
I know you mean well but NEVER offer to pay extra to the dealership for work that shouldn't need to be performed right a second time. This sets an expectation to do worse work until offered more pay, it's a warranty claim. FIX IT THE RIGHT WAY.
At least this guy will go to jail for his reckless behavior. Here in France he would be free after his trip to hospital. We're definitely too kind with criminals...
So, good bye to the ONLY knowledgeable USA scooter reviewer for the Honda ADV 160 scooter AND goodbye to Honda rep for mechanical reliability / dealerships. MAYBE THIS IS WHY US motorcycle/scooter reviewers are skipping this Honda product for reviewing, - IT’S A P.O.S. !!! And the better part of valor, - given how big & strong Honda is in the powersport biz, “ If you can’t say nothing nice, then best to say NOTHING AT All. “. Well shit, that’s how it goes sometime. Now maybe settling back to ‘ 23 - ‘24 Yamaha 300 Max Scooter. NUTS, really wanted that higher ground clearance & longer suspension travel of the Adv160 for mild all-road / off-road exploring…. Damn !
Ok, I feel oblicated to share something. I'm a long time viewer and I didn't really leave much comments (changed name). I was still an atheist only 2 years ago, so I know you don't wanna hear this...
